The impact of goal orientations, perceptions of social support, and sources of rehabilitation confidence on the process of confidence restoration from athletic injury was examined among 40 injured intercollegiate athletes (ages 18 to 22 years). Athletes completed the Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ; Duda & Nicholls, 1992), the Social Support Questionnaire (SSQ; Duda, Smart, & Tappe, 1989), and modified versions of the Sources of Sport Confidence Questionnaire (M-SSCQ; Vealey, Hayashi, Garner-Holman, & Giacobbi, 1998) and the State Sport Confidence Inventory (M-SSCI; Vealey, 1986) within the first two days of their rehabilitation program. The SSQ, M-SSCQ, and M-SSCI were completed during the midpoint of the rehabilitation and the day before returning to practice/competition. Results indicated that the tendency to emphasize task-involved goals in sport significantly predicted the selection of mastery and more self-referenced sources of confidence in rehabilitation. Athletes who perceived more social support specific to injury rehabilitation at the beginning of the rehabilitation program were more likely to rely on performance sources to build confidence.

The article reveals the technology of assessing the professional suitability of officials to perform their functions on the basis of the method of modeling and comparing assessments with the necessary parameters for the position, ie with the model. The term "model" is used as a holistic description of the coordination of the requirements of the social system (SS) with the possibilities of their implementation. The model in this case is a professional standard, which is developed for each position. The professional standard is the agreed standard by which employees should work. This method - the method of evaluation using a professional standard, is the result of the implementation of the principle of consistency in the construction of the model. According to the authors, the method is not only novelty approach, but also versatility. It is possible to estimate by means of a professional standard not only the expert, but also group, potential of collective, it is possible to make comparisons, to define weaknesses and strongnesses of the organizations. The technique developed by authors is offered that allows to carry out various necessary variations with the estimated signs, including visual display of results in various forms.Job modeling refers to ideal or imaginary modeling (as opposed to material, substantive, when modeling physical and mathematical objects) and is based largely on the idealization of the object. In our opinion, at no stage can the model be embodied in an absolutely accurate copy due to the unforeseen influence of many external factors.Modeling of evaluation characteristics in personnel activity is a necessary element in the real assessment of the state of affairs in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. That is why their importance is growing in the context of its reform, taking into account the impact on it of both negative and positive factors.

Summary the article has analyzed the existing scientific and methodological approaches to assessing the level of social security of the state. It was revealed that they differ because: scientists include various components that form social security; they use various indicators and calculation methods; have various aspects of both generalization and practical direction. It was revealed that most often the components of social security include: safety of life, health, social protection and aspects of social and labor relations. The methods that are most often used in calculating the level of social security were considered. It was proved that in assessment, the selection of indicators that pose a threat, is the difficult task. It was revealed that there is no legally approved methodology for assessing the social security of the state. The use of various social security assessment methodologies was analyzed. Emphasis was placed on the selection of indicators used in these techniques. It was concluded that for assessing the social security of the state, an integral indicator is used most often. At the same time, scientists prefer their own set of indicators. The author’s definition of «social security» was presented, which allowed the formation of four components of the state’s social security (life, poverty, health and education). It was established that the choice of indicators for assessing the social security of the state should cover a retrospective period and should be based on both reporting and calculated data. A hierarchical model of an integral indicator of state social security was proposed. There was defined a set of indicators for each of proposed component. The following algorithm has been proposed for assessing the integral indicator of state social security: the formation of the components of social security and the definition of indicative indicators for each of the components; formation of a database; determination of an integral indicator; determining the influence of each component on the change in the integral indicator; interpretation of indicators; determining the sustainability of hazardous trends.

This study examined the relationship between the three facets of subjective meaning—personal incentives, sense of self, and perceived behavioral options—and adherence behaviors in the athletic injury rehabilitation setting. Subjects were 40 intercollegiate athletes who had sustained a sport related injury; all completed a questionnaire assessing the three components of meaning specific to sport and injury rehabilitation. Adherence was defined as a composite of attendance at the prescribed sessions, degree of completion of the prescribed exercise protocol, and the athlete's intensity or effort exerted in performing the prescribed exercise. Multiple-regression analyses indicated that each dimension significantly predicted adherence behaviors. Athletes who demonstrated greater adherence believed in the efficacy of the treatment, perceived more social support for their rehabilitation, were more goal directed or self-motivated, and placed more emphasis on mastery or task-involved goals in sport.

The research presented in this paper concerned the satisfaction with the relationships with family members, friends, colleagues and acquaintances, the extent of the relationships among these groups, and the perceived social support. The aim of the presented research is to assess the impact of these characteristics on life-satisfaction. In addition, the changes that occurred after the social skills training in the level of life-satisfaction and its determinants were examined. The study group consisted of 60 participants. The results show that the strongest determinants of life-satisfaction are practical support and the satisfaction with the relationships with friends. After the social training the structure of the determinants changed. The factors which were relevant before the training appear to be insignificant now; however, the emotional support, satisfaction with family relationships and the number of friends gain in importance. The social skills training was also effective and increased the level of life-satisfaction.

ABSTRACTThis paper aims to identify the Communication course curricular trajectory in Brazil, in order to reflect on possible impacts on teaching and learning processes within the local educational contexts of undergraduate Social Communication courses. The discourses present in curricular public policies towards this area of knowledge have been shaped by neoliberal logic, which features a context governed by the laws of the market and the democratic Social Welfare State mischaracterization, that is, the State reduction and “market and quasi-market” appreciation. The current recommendations of the Brazilian national curricular frameworks for Social Communication exemplify the management of private interests, of large enterprises in the Multinational Educational and Telecommunications area, through the expansion of outsourced educational services and products. The disentanglement of qualifications weakens the area and isolates the knowledge in related areas, massing a speech in favor of the market. Thus, the Brazilian higher education has been suffering the impact of denationalization of the state, which is causing profound changes in how curriculum public policies are being implemented.RESUMOEste trabalho tem como objetivo identificar a trajetória curricular dos cursos de Comunicação no Brasil, visando refletir sobre possíveis impactos nos processos de ensino e de aprendizagem no âmbito dos contextos educacionais locais dos cursos de graduação de Comunicação social.
