Background:Despite great advances in the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, the scientific community does not know the perception of our patients regarding the knowledge of the disease and the relationship between patients and disease. Fatigue had the greatest impact on activities of daily living, yet the majority reported receiving no support or poor support in managing it1.Objectives:Through this initiative, it is intended to investigate about the knowledge of the disease and impact of the disease on quality of life of Lupus patients. Another objective is to give visibility to the current needs of people living with lupus. Methods:It was performed a national survey with 1,263 interviews with Lupus patients who reside in Spanish territory and belonging to lupus patient associations in Spain. The survey was carried out by the Spanish Lupus Federation (FELUPUS) in collaboration with GSK company.Online interview lasting approximately 25 minutes. The collection of information was anonymously carried out from May 21 to June 30, 2020.Results:1.263 lupus patients were interviewed, 92% diagnosed with SLE and 8% with CLE. Survey sample is representative of the Lupus patient population in Spain [associated sampling error: 2.76%]. Questions about knowledge of the disease showed that 73% of patients considered that there is very little knowledge of the disease by society. Patient awareness of lupus increases as the disease progresses, so at the time of diagnosis, level of knowledge of the patient about Lupus is low in 92% of patients and at the moment of survey, 68% of patient had high knowledge. In terms of the perception of his illness, the affectation of the kidneys and heart (97%), fatigue and skin rashes (97%), are the statements that generate the greatest consensus. The survey about the relationship to disease demonstrated that 3 out of 4 patients have symptoms related to the disease, muscle and joint pain (75%) and fatigue (74%) are the symptoms that cause the greatest discomfort (Graph 1). Remarkable degree of agreement with the fact of not being able to sunbathe (78%), as well as the lack of energy (61%) and weakness in the body (60%). Flare-ups (86%), followed by fatigue (78%) and pain (77%) cause great concern. At diagnosis, 92% of patients have some organic involvement and regarding the diagnosis, at present, a greater number of patients present damage to the CNS (17%) and bones (21%). Many patients do not understand the concept of organ damage, wrongly relating it to fatigue (38%) or joint pain (47%).Graph 1.Conclusion:Among the conclusions of the survey, it stands out that society and the general population are unaware of what lupus is, while in the case of lupus patients, knowledge increases as the disease progresses. Citizen awareness campaigns about this disease are necessary, where patient associations together with health authorities have a crucial job. On the other hand, 92% of patients present organ damage at diagnosis. This means that we are arriving late to the diagnosis of many patients, which makes it necessary to promote a close collaboration between Primary Care and Hospitals, to refer patients as soon as they suspect SLE.References:[1]Sloan M, Harwood R, Sutton S, D’Cruz D, Howard P, Wincup C, Brimicombe J, Gordon C. Abstract Background and Aims Bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) has been widely applied to measure fluid volume in dialysis patients. A fundamentally important, yet unanswered question is how changes in fluid conductivity affects the accuracy of BIS measurements. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the change in intraperitoneal volume (IPV) is – as hypothesized - linearly correlated with the change in dialysate conductivity during a peritoneal equilibrium test (PET). Method Four PD patients (age 58±13 years, three males, weight 87.8±28 kg) were studied during a standard PET. Segmental BIS was continuously measured with eight electrodes placed between rib and buttock on both sides of the body using a Hydra 4200 (Xitron Technologies Inc ). IPV was calculated based on BIS recordings as recently published (Zhu, Kidney Blood Press Res 2019;44:1465–1475). Dialysate samples were collected hourly from baseline to the end of dwell. Dialysate conductivity was measured with a portable conductivity meter (CDH-280-KIT, Omega Engineering Inc, CT, USA). Results In all patients dialysate conductivity increased significantly (p<0.0001) from baseline (11.14±0.15 mS/cm) to the end of dwell (12.5±0.58 mS/cm) (Fig a). In 2 patients (Fig b and c) IPV and conductivity were linearly correlated; in one patient (Fig d) the relationship was nonlinear and absent in another one (Fig e). Conclusion Although the number of patients in this study was small, the results clearly indicated that dialysate conductivity increased linearly over time during PET. The correlation between dialysate conductivity and IPV is not linear and may be driven by other factors, such as dialysate electrolyte levels. In future studies measurements of dialysate electrolytes are necessary to better understand the drivers of the IPV / conductivity relationship.

Abstract COVID-19 has been considered as one of the major global pandemic which has caused different health problems by affecting the majority of the population throughout the world. Several studies have evolved the concerns of air pollution being considered as a major risk factor causing respiratory infection that are carried out by microorganisms which further affects the immunity system of the body. The present study involves the relationship between the air pollutants and COVID-19 total infection along with estimation of death rates in the several regions of Saudi Arabia. The major goal of this study comprises the analysis of the relationship between air pollutants concentration such as (PM10, NO2, CO, SO2 and O3) and COVID-19 wide outbreak, concerning the transmission, number of patients, critical cases and death rates . The results show that the estimation of COVID-19 cases were highest in number recorded in the most polluted regions, the mortality rate and critical cases were also more distinct in these regions more than other regions in Saudi Arabia. The finding of this study shows a positive correlation between mean PM 10, NO2, CO and SO2 pollutants. The results represent the significant relationship between air pollution resulting from high concentration of NO2 and COVID-19 infection and deaths. Null hypothesis of the relation between other pollutants and COVID-19 infection couldn’t be rejected. The study also indicates significant correlation between mean NO2 and CO and total number of critical cases, and negative correlations were obtained between Mean O3 and total number of cases, total deaths and critical case per cumulative days.

Analysis of plasma phenytoin in a group of patients treated for epilepsy showed that only 36% had values in the therapeutic range. The relationship between plasma phenytoin, body weight, and daily dosage of the drug were explored, and the data were analysed by multiple regression. The resultant equation, relating all three factors, was used to optimise drug dosage, and the importance of using the body weight of the patient before starting a phenytoin regimen is emphasised. An increase in the number of patients with plasma phenytoin in the therapeutic range was achieved, and the clinical value of being in that range is shown.

AbstractOsteoarthritis (OA) pain is associated with peripheral and central sensitization in humans and results in widespread increased sensitivity across the body. Sensitization contributes to the OA-associated pain (OAP) state. We recently identified increased levels of an endogenous neurotrophic factor, artemin (ARTN), in dogs with OAP compared to healthy pain-free controls. Circulating ARTN released from damaged tissues in OA, may play a central role in widespread sensitivity and pain. However, the relationship between ARTN and somatosensory sensitivity remains unknown. The study aimed to assess the relationship between serum ARTN concentrations and measures of sensitivity in dogs with OAP using quantitative sensory testing. We hypothesized that there would be a positive association between circulating ARTN and increased sensitivity to mechanical and thermal stimuli in dogs with OAP. We used linear and logistic regression models to assess the relationship between ARTN, sensitization, and pain within a cohort of 43 dogs with spontaneous OAP. Serum ARTN was not associated with the degree of sensitization within dogs with OAP. Further, across dogs with varying OAP severity, we did not find any association between ARTN, and clinical measures of joint pain and disability. Although a relationship between ARTN and joint pain was not ruled out.

Immune disorders arising from liver damage of various origins and the mechanisms of their development are still poorly understood. The functions of the immune system are carried out against the background of metabolic processes and their shifts caused by the action of various agents on the body, as well as liver cells - hepatocytes. Typical metabolic changes that occur when the liver is affected by various toxic factors are combined with certain features of metabolic disorders in certain organs and tissues, due to the specifics of their structural and functional organization, the nature of the inducing agent and the primary link of its effect on cells and the body as a whole. The relationship of numerous metabolic changes, violations of the functional activity of hepatocytes arising in such a pathology with the dysfunction of the immune system has not yet been sufficiently studied, as well as the most effective methods of correction have not been established. Currently, the issues of pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of acute liver diseases remain among the most relevant in medicine, both due to the complexity of diagnosis and the choice of optimal treatment methods, and the tendency towards an increase in the number of patients with these diseases. The emergence and development of cellular technologies have created serious scientific prerequisites in this area.

Vitamin D is a class of hormones necessary to maintain normalphysiological activities of the body. A large number of studies have shownthat vitamin D, as a fat-soluble vitamin, is not only related to calcium andphosphorus metabolism, but also closely related to immune regulation, humoral regulation, cell cycle and so on. Systemic Lupus erythema-Tosus(SLE) is a specific autoimmune diffuse connective tissue disease thatcauses tissue and organ damage under the joint action of multiple factorssuch as environment and heredity. Among many factors, the vitamin Dmetabolism pathway gene is particularly important for its influence. Someliterature has shown that the genetic polymorphism of vitamin D metabolicpathway genes is correlated with SLE. Therefore, by referring to relevantliterature, this paper summarized the progress in the research on themechanism of genetic polymorphism of vitamin metabolism pathway genesand the development of SLE.

The relationship between body height and body weight has been described by using various terms. Notable among them is the body mass index, body surface area, body shape index and body surface index. In clinical setting the first descriptive parameter is the BMI scale, which provides information about whether an individual body weight is proportionate to the body height. Since the development of BMI, two other body parameters have been developed in an attempt to determine the relationship between body height and weight. These are the body surface area (BSA) and body surface index (BSI). Generally, these body parameters are described as clinical health indicators that described how healthy an individual body response to the other internal organs. The aim of the study is to discuss the use of BSI as a better clinical health indicator for preclinical assessment of body-organ/tissue relationship. Hence organ health condition as against other body composition. In addition the study is `also to determine the best body parameter the best predict other parameters for clinical application. The model parameters are presented as; modeled height and weight; modelled BSI and BSA, BSI and BMI and modeled BSA and BMI. The models are presented as clinical application software for comfortable working process and designed as GUI and CAD for use in clinical application.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is an effective technique in managing risk within an organization strategically and holistically. Risk culture relates to the general awareness, attitudes and behaviours towards risk management in an organisation. This paper presents a conceptual model that shows the relationship between risk culture and ERM implementation. The dependent variable is ERM implementation, which is measured by the four processes namely risk identification and risk assessment; risk treatment; monitor and consult; communicate and consult. The independent variables under risk culture are risk policy and risk appetite; key risk indicators; accountability; incentives; risk language and internal relationships. This study aims to empirically test the relationship between risk culture and ERM implementation among Malaysian construction public listed companies. Risk culture is expected to have direct effects and significantly influence ERM. This study contributes to enhance the body of knowledge in ERM especially in understanding significant of risk culture that influence its’ implementation from Malaysian perspective.

This study intends to find out the mediating effect of organisational culture on the relationship between information system and sustainable performance of manufacturing sector in UAE. This study used AMOS-SEM software to develop mediation model that linking the mediating relationships between Information System, Organisational Culture and Sustainable operation Performance. Data was collected through questionnaire survey among the operation staff of Abu Dhabi manufacturing companies. A total 250 questionnaires were distributed however 205 were returned and only 200 are valid which indicates a response rate of 80%. The analysis found that TPS has positive but not significant effect to SP; OIS has positive but not significant effect to SP; FMW has a positive and significant effect on SP; SDS has a negative and not significant effect to SP and SP has positive but not significant effect OC. For the path relationship between the four exogenous variables (TPS, OIS, SDS, and FMW) and the mediator variable (OC), the results are TPS has positive and significant effect to OC; OIS has positive but not significant effect to OC; FMW has positive and significant effect to OC and SDS has positive and not significant effect to OC. Collectively, the five exogenous constructs (TPS, OIS, SDS, FMW and OC) explained 89% variation in operational performance and 86% of the variation in organisational culture. However, for a mediator, it was found that OC has no significant mediating effect on the relationship between TPS and SP; OC has no significant mediating effect on the relationship between OIS and SP; OC has no significant mediating effect on the relationship between SDS and SP and OC has no significant mediating effect on the relationship between FMW and SP. it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between information system dimensions and operational performance. However organizational culture has no contributing any mediating effect to the relationship. These findings have contributed to the body of knowledge and could be shared among the UAE manufacturing practitioners.
