BackgroundThe study of decision making in complex naturalistic environments poses several challenges. In response to these, video-stimulated cued-recall-debrief was developed. It involves an individual wearing a head-mounted camera which records a task from their point of view. Afterwards, footage captured is reviewed along with a facilitated debrief to help externalise cognitive processes. In theory, motion, audio and visual cues generate a high level of experiential immersion which helps the expert to articulate previously hidden thoughts and actions.ObjectiveTo examine the current evidence for video-stimulated cued-recall-debrief as a means of explicating expert thoughts and feelings in complex tasks in a range of environments.Study selectionMEDLINE, EMBASE, Education Resources Information Center, SPORTDiscus, PsycINFO and Google Scholar were searched for articles containing the key terms ‘cued-recall (debrief)’, ‘decision making’, ‘skills’ and ‘video recording’. Studies were included if they examined the following outcomes: (1) feasibility, (2) extent of experiential immersion, (3) ability to generate unique insight into decision-making processes and (4) current applications. 1831 articles were identified initially, and 9 studies were included in the final review.FindingsVideo-stimulated cued-recall-debrief is associated with a high level of experiential immersion and generates between two and four times the number of recollections compared with free recall. It can be used to build models of cognitive activity and to characterise the way in which more and less skilled individuals tend to think and feel.ConclusionsThe technique could be used to explicate expertise within medicine: these insights into performance could be used as a training tool for other practitioners.Trial registration numberCRD42017057484.

IntroductionThe management of the COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) methodology due to the need to formulate evidence-based recommendations in times of uncertainty in minimal time - for a large number of publications and with changing or even contradictory information. Living systematic reviews (LSRs) are systematic reviews that are continually updated, incorporating relevant new evidence as it becomes available. Since the COVID-19 pandemic fits all criteria to perform LSRs: (i) the Review question is a particular priority for decision-making, (ii) there is an high level of uncertainty about the existing evidence, and (iii) there is likely to be emerging evidence that will impact on the conclusions of the LSR, the aim of which is to analyze the role of LSRs as an innovative approach to HTA in recent years, and its impact on the management of the pandemic.MethodsA systematic search of LSRs (published or protocols) was run on the main biomedical databases (Medline, Embase and Cochrane Library) in November 2020 and it was rerun in June 2021 without time limit. The results will be analyzed and classified by year and category (epidemiology, treatment, prognosis, symptoms, diagnosis and vaccines).ResultsThe literature research has returned a total of 187 publications. The LSR concept emerged in 2014, from which some LSRs began to be published, but an exponential increase has been observed in 2020 with 76 references of which 66 percent were focused on the SARS-CoV-2. By category, 81.8 percent were focused on treatment, 41.8 percent on epidemiology, 20.9 percent on rehabilitation, 15.1 percent on diagnosis, 10.2 percent on prognosis and 2.2 percent on symptoms until June 2021. There wasn't any LSR for vaccines and 28 percent was focused on other fields.ConclusionsLSRs are particularly important during the COVID-19 pandemic, with research evidence emerging rapidly, current evidence being uncertain, and new research changing policy or decisions on health. The majority of LSRs published up to June 2021 were focused on the treatment of COVID-19.

The paper is focused on the performance measurement of the Support and Guarantee Fund for Farmers and Forestry (SGFFF) as a main instrument of a capital reinforcement of the Czech agricultural enterprises restructuring during the last ten years. New possibilities shaped up by the CAP exercise are evaluated as well. The principles of the SGFFF function from the point of view of agricultural restructu- ring and regional allocation of the financial resources as well as the reason why subsidy of the supported loans’ interest rates have been employed are cleared up there. Results are discussed upon an analysis of the Fund activity. According to results of the analysis, it can be claimed that the Fund has became an important part of supports for agricultural sector. From the point of view of criterions of regional allocation of financial resources there was found out the level of supports has not been derived from the different natural and soil quality. The economic results and a high level of the prospectus have been used as main criterions for the decision-making system. The activity of SGFFF continues within the State Aid in the framework of the CAP EU and so that the loans for farmers are still more available for restructuring of the Czech agriculture and improving of its competitiveness.

The proliferation and active use of technical means of audio and video recording in the process of identifying and proving certain types of crimes leads to the need to rethink the correlation of certain theoretical concepts. The paper analyzes similar elements and differences in the grounds for initiating a criminal case and the grounds for accusation. Attention is drawn to the convergence of the content of these concepts in the conditions of the spread of digital technologies in criminal proceedings. It is suggested that the use of audio and video recordings in a cognitive procedure has a significant effect on the inner conviction of the investigator and the inquiry officer when making procedural decisions. The possibility of initiating a criminal case is analyzed solely on the basis of audio and video. The author states his point of view on the inadmissibility of simplifying the procedure for establishment of evidence in cases of audio and video recordings, along with confessions, since in this case there is a violation of the basic foundations of cognitive activity in criminal proceedings.

Digitalization of criminal procedural activity is a complex process that inevitably affects the establishment of evidence procedure. One of the most controversial topics in this direction is the possibility of introducing a new type (source) of evidence: electronic evidence. The paper discusses various scientific approaches that challenge the necessity of its existence. The author expresses his point of view on the possible reasons for this trend. The position of scientists advocating the further development and implementation of electronic evidence is supported. The features of the existence of information in electronic form are described. The influence of the derived nature of the virtual space on the information obtained as a result of cognitive activity is analyzed. The problems of differentiating the information carrier and its content are stated. The specificity of the use of information in electronic form in the context of initial and derivative evidence is investigated. Attention is drawn to the need to develop criteria for electronic evidence in the direction of data authentication, as well as the mandatory involvement at certain stages of persons with special knowledge. The foreign experience of using various electronic devices in the establishment of evidence process is presented. The widespread introduction of digital audio and video recording technologies is emphasized. The concept of "digital evidence" is analyzed.

We substantiate the need for the use of interactive educational technologies in teaching a foreign language at a university. It was analyzed that the use of web quest technology, “flipped classroom” and “development of critical thinking” technologies in a foreign language class helps to achieve a high level of development of foreign language communicative and information and communication competencies, better memorization of the material studied, development of cognitive activity and logical thinking, and also increases the level of motivation to learn English. These technologies involve conducting non-traditional lectures and practical exercises, the purpose of which is to synthesize disparate knowledge from different branches of scientific thought, highlight the main and most important information, be able to lead a discussion, express one’s point of view. The main interactive teaching methods have been identified, which involve turning to the logical methods of teaching, reflecting the logical operations of thinking, analysis, ..., generalization, which corresponds to the current Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education in the direction of training 44.04.01 “Pedagogical Education”. We focus on the creative nature of the educational technologies that contribute to the creation of a learning language environment, including in its space all students seeking creative search, self-expression, and self-development.

This paper concerns an analysis regarding the performance of X-ray equipment as well as the radiological safety in veterinary facilities. Data were collected from 380 X-ray veterinary facilities countrywide during the on-site regulatory inspections carried out by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission. The analysis of the results shows that the majority of the veterinary radiographic systems perform within the acceptable limits; moreover, the design and shielding of X-ray rooms as well as the applied procedures ensure a high level of radiological safety for the practitioners, operators and the members of the public. An issue that requires specific attention in the optimization process for the proper implementation of veterinary radiology practices in terms of radiological safety is the continuous training of the personnel. The above findings and the regulatory experience gained were valuable decision-making elements regarding the type of the regulatory control of veterinary radiology practices in the new radiation protection framework.

The present study was undertaken to explore the decision making patterns of college girls in relation to clothing and their satisfaction level with these decision making patterns. Thirty under graduate college girls from Panipat city were approached to record their responses regarding decision making in relation to clothing and satisfaction level through a well structured questionnaire. It was found that most of the girls (56.66%) themselves made the decisions about the type of garment (Indian, western or both) they wear and majority of girls (70%) were highly satisfied with this decision making. Parents performed the role of buyers for their college going daughters' garments in most of the cases (63.33%) and the 73.33% girls had high level of satisfaction with this. In most of the cases (60%) the decision about the garment design was made by the girls themselves and they were highly satisfied with it. Keywords: clothing, college, girls, decision making.

BACKGROUND: This paper deals with territorial distribution of the alcohol and drug addictions mortality at a level of the districts of the Slovak Republic. AIM: The aim of the paper is to explore the relations within the administrative territorial division of the Slovak Republic, that is, between the individual districts and hence, to reveal possibly hidden relation in alcohol and drug mortality. METHODS: The analysis is divided and executed into the two fragments – one belongs to the female sex, the other one belongs to the male sex. The standardised mortality rate is computed according to a sequence of the mathematical relations. The Euclidean distance is employed to compute the similarity within each pair of a whole data set. The cluster analysis examines is performed. The clusters are created by means of the mutual distances of the districts. The data is collected from the database of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic for all the districts of the Slovak Republic. The covered time span begins in the year 1996 and ends in the year 2015. RESULTS: The most substantial point is that the Slovak Republic possesses the regional disparities in a field of mortality expressed by the standardised mortality rate computed particularly for the diagnoses assigned to the alcohol and drug addictions at a considerably high level. However, the female sex and the male sex have the different outcome. The Bratislava III District keeps absolutely the most extreme position. It forms an own cluster for the both sexes too. The Topoľčany District bears a similar extreme position from a point of view of the male sex. All the Bratislava districts keep their mutual notable dissimilarity. Contrariwise, evaluation of a development of the regional disparities among the districts looks like notably heterogeneously. CONCLUSIONS: There are considerable regional discrepancies throughout the districts of the Slovak Republic. Hence, it is necessary to create a common platform how to proceed with the solution of this issue.

This research explores how marketing managers can avoid the so-called false consensus effect—the egocentric tendency to project personal preferences onto consumers. Two pilot studies were conducted to provide evidence for the managerial importance of this research question and to explore how marketing managers attempt to avoid false consensus effects in practice. The results suggest that the debiasing tactic most frequently used by marketers is to suppress their personal preferences when predicting consumer preferences. Four subsequent studies show that, ironically, this debiasing tactic can backfire and increase managers’ susceptibility to the false consensus effect. Specifically, the results suggest that these backfire effects are most likely to occur for managers with a low level of preference certainty. In contrast, the results imply that preference suppression does not backfire but instead decreases false consensus effects for managers with a high level of preference certainty. Finally, the studies explore the mechanism behind these results and show how managers can ultimately avoid false consensus effects—regardless of their level of preference certainty and without risking backfire effects.
