Incessant concerns from employers and private sectors about the incompetence of graduates in Nigeria call for the creation of an assessment tool that could verify their skills. But there is no clear generally accepted and validated assessment instrument available for evaluating graduate performance. The aim of this study was to develop a valid instrument for assessing competency levels of building construction graduates in Nigeria. Survey design was adopted to obtain expert opinions on the validity of the sub-constructs and the related items about the employers 'needs. Three experts from the academic, public, and private sectors subjected the survey instrument to face, content, and construct validity and reliability. The survey instrument, which was analysed using IBM SPSS and WINSTEP version 3.73.3 was answered by a total of 200 building experts selected by proportionate stratified sampling technique. The consistency of the instrument was determined by fit statistics and point measure correlation (PTMEA Corr), for construct validity. The results revealed a very good items and person reliability of 0.97 and 0.94 respectively. Likewise, appropriate PTMEA Corr range from 0.36 to 0.68. Infit and outfit means square range obtained between 0.58 to 1.39. The findings give students, employers and academic institution a realistic and theoretical interpretation of the reality of labour market needs.

The study developed a scale for measuring assessment literacy of university teachers and determined the validity and reliability of the scale. This is with a view of improving university teachers’ assessment literacy. The study adopted the survey design. The population comprised all lecturers working in universities within Osun State. The sample consisted of 549 university teachers that were not in training position (lecturer II and above) from different disciplines selected using convenient sampling technique in all the eight accredited universities within Osun state. The study made use of three instruments namely; University Teachers Assessment Literacy Scale (UTALS), Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale (TSES) and Teacher Burnout Scale (TBS). The results showed that the 60- item UTALS was reduced to 43 items after the psychometric procedure of item retention and deletion were applied. Scree plot and eigen value methods showed that the final UTALS construct validity had seven factors of university teachers’ assessment literacy that accounted for 86.46% of the total scale variance and it significantly converge and diverge with the Teacher Efficacy Scale (r = 0.75) and Teacher Burnout Scale (0.52) respectively. The internal consistency reliability of the scale was 0.96 (Guttman), 0.90 (Cronbach), and 0.96 (Spearman). The study concluded that the university teacher’s assessment literacy scale developed in this study had adequate psychometric characteristics and is suitable for measuring assessment literacy of university teachers in Osun State. It was therefore recommended that the University Teacher’s Assessment Literacy Scale be adopted by institutions of higher learning for the assessment of new and old academic staff members’ assessment competency in order to help in the improvement of assessment standard of the institutions

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between age experiencing of menarche (first menstruation) with the student’s confidence in a high school in Padang. The population of the study was all students at Senior High School 6 Padang. The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified random sampling. The number of samples used was 186 people using a questionnaire that had been tested for its validity and reliability before. The results of this study indicate that the age of menarche has a significant relationship to the confidence of these students. Besides that, the correlation coefficient is negative hence thefaster a person experiences menarche, the lower confidence she will has. The relationship between age of experiencing menarche with self-confidence is significant because the physical and psychological changes that occur after a person experiences menarche can affect one's confidence. Even so, it is not only the age of menarche that is associated with self-confidence, but there are other factors such as the learning process of the environment, family, friends or the community. It is because self-confidence is not a hereditary factor, so that everyone can increase their self-confidence in order to optimize their potential for success

The students’ answer the question by determining noun, verb and adjective of  vocabulary consisting of 50 items. The data were analyzed by using t-test. It was found that teaching vocabulary by using English Song helped the students to master vocabulary. Based on the data analysis, teaching by using English Song could significantly improve students’ vocabulary. The research  shows the score of pre-test and posttest as follow:  pretest 58.9 score and posttest 75.1 score, and T-count value obtain 12.7 and t critic 1.729 at the significant level 0.05. It means t-count is higher that t-critic. The null hypothesis (H0) stating that teaching vocabulary through English song cannot improve students vocabulary is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hi) stated that teaching vocabulary through English song can improve students’ vocabulary mastery at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Halmahera Utara is accepted.

The research design used was a quasy-experiment with a pre and post-test design without control (self-control). Collecting data using the NRS observation sheet and pain measurement that has been tested for validity and reliability. The sample consisted of 35 respondents who were taken by consecutive sampling technique. This study showed that 68.6% of respondents had mild pain, while 31.4% of respondents had no pain. The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test showed that there were significant differences in the level of knowledge before and after religious music therapy with a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05). This research is expected to be developed in further research and can be used as a reference by increasing the number of samples and variables as a comparison. Keywords: Effect of Music Therapy, Menstrual Pain

This study investigated the relationship between examination anxiety and pupils’ academic performance in Junior High Schools in Effutu Municipality in the Central Region of Ghana. Grounded in Smith and Ellsworth (1987) transactional model of test-related emotions, this study adopted the cross-sectional descriptive survey design with quantitative approach where seven-hundred and forty one (741) Junior High School pupils were sampled through the multi-stage sampling technique. Closed-ended questionnaire was used to collect quantifiable data. After satisfying validity and reliability requirements, the instrument was self-administered to the participants and the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentages, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics such as t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The findings of the study revealed that generally there was high examination anxiety among the Junior High School pupils. Besides, the results showed that there was a strong and statistically significant inverse relationship between examination anxiety and pupils overall academic performance. The study further disclosed that the level of pupils and age of the pupils did not significantly affect examination anxiety. Furthermore, it was revealed that sex and type of school attended significantly influenced examination anxiety. Therefore, it is recommended among others that, the Effutu Municipal Education Directorate should as a matter of urgency design and implement programmes to reduce the high anxiety levels among pupils so as to enhance academic performance. In this direction, attention should be directed to sex and type of school attended since these two variables significantly predicted examination anxiety.

The aim of the study was to determine the extent to which work-life balance affects the job satisfaction of employees in a paper manufacturing company. Job satisfaction and work-life balance are key ingredients that impact on employees’ work and personal lives, including organizational productivity. The study is quantitative and a survey design was adopted, with a sample size of 70 employees. Both, descriptive and inferential statistics were utilized. The simple random sampling technique was adopted and the adequacy of the sample was assessed using the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure and Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity. A self-developed questionnaire was utilized and, the validity and reliability were determined. The first two hypotheses were partially accepted, one was confirmed and, one was rejected. The results indicate that with work-life balance in this organisation, there is contentment with flexible work arrangement and employee wellness and; with job satisfaction, staff are far more content with working conditions than any of the other constructs of the study. A positive relationship exists between work-life balance and job satisfaction. The findings point to a presence of factors that executives, and policy-makers need to take cognizance of, for organisational benefit, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and for the future direction.
