Kitarō Nishida is the most important and representative philosopher in modern Japan, who now attracts increasing attention internationally. He endeavored to give a logical foundation to the Eastern way of thinking through his confrontation with Western philosophers. The aim of this paper is to recover the modern and intercultural significance of Plotinus’ philosophy in the light of Nishida’s philosophy. Nishida refers to Plotinus repeatedly, expressing his deep empathy, though his philosophy, which professes itself to be highly critical, is not mysticism. When we compare him with Plotinus, we can find a great affinity in their fundamental structure. ‘Absolute nothingness (zettai mu)’, the basis of all reality in Nishida’s philosophy, is prior to both subjectivity and objectivity, and corresponds to the Plotinian One, which transcends both thinking and being. The correspondence between their logical structures consists in regarding subjectivity and objectivity as developments of an indefinite principle that transcends and precedes the discrimination of the two, and determination as determination of what is indeterminate. However, differing from Plotinus, Nishida lays stress on corporality, ordinariness and individuality. Though Plotinus was never pessimistic about this world, the experience emphasized in the Enneads was not earthly, while Nishida’s ‘radical ordinariness’ was the standpoint to which we should attain in a mundane life. When we compare Plotinus with Nishida, we encounter the intersection of the West and the East, antiquity and modernity, and mysticity and ordinariness.

The close relations between Turkey and Libya are still on the rise, and this was evident through Turkish support at all levels of the internationally recognized government of Al-Sarraj winner. The Memorandum of Understanding signed between Turkey and Libya on 27 / November 2019, in the areas of security and military cooperation and the determination of areas of influence revealed The navy, the extent of the historical close relationship between Ankara and Tripoli, just as the Turkish President Erdogan wanted to deliver a message to the West and other regional parties after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, that Turkey has a non-negotiable sovereign right to define the maritime spheres of influence and that this right stems from international law. In light of these tracks, we will shed light on the orientations of Turkish policy towards Libya after the February 2011 revolution, by defining the determinants of those trends and examining the most important obstacles in the march of Turkish policy towards Libya.

Hisab dan rukyat, hakikatnya, adalah cara untuk mengetahui pergantian bulan. Kajian ini memperlihatkan beberapa temuan. Pertama, korelasi antara hadis Kuraib dan terjadinya perbedaan penetapan awal Ramadan, Syawal, dan Dzul Hijjah di Indonesia. Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia telah menetapkan bahwa Indonesia secara keseluruhan menjadi satu wilayah hukum (wilayatul hukmi). Kedua, tentang keberhasilan rukyat al-hilal di satu kawasan yang diberlakukan bagi kawasan lain di muka bumi. Perlu diketahui bersama bahwa visibilitas pertama hilal tidak meliputi seluruh muka bumi pada hari yang sama, melainkan membelahnya menjadi dua bagian: (1) bagian sebelah Barat yang dapat melihat hilal dan (2) bagian sebelah Timur yang tidak dapat melihat hilal.Hisab and rukyat is a way to know the turn of the month. This study shows several findings. First is the correlation between Kuraib traditions and differences in the determination of the beginning of Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhul-Hijjah in Indonesia. Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia has stated that Indonesia as a whole into a single jurisdiction (wilayatul hukmi). Second, on the success rukyat alhilal in one area that applied to other regions of earth. Important to know that the first visibility of the new moon does not cover the entire face of the earth on the same day, but splitting it into two parts: (1) part of the West to see the new moon, and (2) part of the East were not able to see the new moon.

Abstract This paper explores the legality of the land closure imposed upon the Gaza Strip by Israel. After having considered the area under occupation, the paper argues that the legality of the closure must be determined under international humanitarian law, international human rights law, the principle of self-determination of peoples, and the Israeli-Palestinian agreements. In the light of these rules, the arbitrary closure of the Gaza Strip should be considered illegal because it breaches the unity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and because it violates the freedom of movement of the local population. Moreover, the closure breaches the relevant rules pertaining to the transit of goods in occupied territory. The paper concludes that most of the violations caused by the closure affect peremptory rules which produce obligations erga omnes, so that any state in the international community is entitled to react under the law of state responsibility.

The ‘West Review’ argues that the determination of tertiary sector education program offerings should be decentralised by basing funding on student preferences. Research activities should be centrally prioritised with access to training being also dependent on such preferences. These views are questionable. Informational asymmetries imply that student sovereignty is a poor basis for designing programs and allocating research funds. Central prioritising cannot provide the benefits achievable in liberal structures which promote diversity. The Review's endorsement of centralised university management will realise measured cost savings but at the expense of quality.

Michel Foucault developed his now (in)famous neologism governmentality in the first of the two lectures he devoted to ’a history of governmentality, Security, Territory, Population (1977-78) and The Birth of Biopolitics (1978-79). Foucault developed this notion in order to do a historical investigation of ‘the state’ or ‘the political’ which did not assume the entity of the state but treated it as a way of governing, a way of thinking about governing. Recently, the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben has taken up Foucault’s notion of governmentality in his writing of a history of power in the West, most notably in The Kingdom and the Glory. It is with inspiration from Agamben’s recent use of Foucault that Foucault’s approach to writing the history of the state (as a history of governmental practices and the reflection hereof) is revisited. Foucault (and Agamben) thus offer another way of writing the history of the state and of the political, which focuses on different texts and on reading more familiar texts in a new light, thereby offering a new and notably different view on the emergence of the modern state and politics.

This research focuses on non-verbal communication of sarong worn by Ma’ruf Amin as the candidate of Vice President of Republic Indonesia for the period of 2019-2024 who had been declared by the public election commission (KPU) on Junie 28, 2019. To analyze the meaning of sarong, the researchers use semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce. The findings indicate that sarong denotatively means a piece of cloth which is sewn at its end to become a kind of tube to cover part of man’s body especially his stomach and below. Furthermore, sarong has very deep meaning, they are showing self-identity, local culture, the symbol of resistance to the culture of the west, it shows sincerity, complex way of thinking, flexibility, elegance, smart thinking, and excellent morality.

Postal   711Fone: (045) 225 -2100  (R-249) - Fax : (045) [email protected]  1 RESUMO  Este  trabalho  teve  como  objetivo  avaliar as características hidráulicas  do  microaspersor DAN SPRINKLERS do grupo modular de fabricação da DAN SPRINKLERS - ISRAEL, de uso recente no Oeste do Paraná. Os ensaios foram realizados no Laboratório de Hidráulica do Departamento de Engenharia da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná – UNIOESTE. Na  avaliação dos microaspersores  estudou-se, a variação decorrente do processo de fabricação e a determinação da equação característica da relação vazão–pressão. Os microaspersores do Grupo modular com diâmetros de bocais 0,94; 1,16;1,41;1,92 e 2,34 mm,  foram submetidos às pressões de 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 e 350 kPa. As equações características determinadas indicaram que o microaspersor testado não é auto-compensante , tolerante a sensibilidade de variações de pressões e que a equação potencial se ajusta bem aos dados. Os coeficientes de variação de fabricação obtidos foram menores que 5%, classificando-se, de acordo com a Norma ISO, como de categoria A. UNITERMOS: Microaspersão, coeficiente de variação, modelo potencial.  VILAS BÔAS, M. HYDRAULIC CHARACTERIZATION OF MICROSPRINKLER DAN SPRINKLER - MODULATE GROUP   2 ABSTRACT This work had as objective to evaluate the characteristics hydraulic of the microsprinklers of the group to modulate of production of DAN SPRINKLERS - ISRAEL, of recent use in the West of Paraná. The tests was accomplished in the Laboratory of Hydraulics of the Department of Engineering of the State University of the West of Paraná - UNIOESTE. In the evaluation of the microasprinklers it was studied such characteristics as, the variation due to the production process and the determination of the characteristic equation of the relationship vazão-pressure. The microsprinklers of the Group to modulate with diameters of nozzle 0,94; 1,16;1,41;1,92 and 2,34 mm, the pressures were submitted 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 350 kPa. The certain characteristic equations showed that the tested microsprinklers is not solemnity-compensante and that the potential equation was fit well to the data. The obtained coefficients of production variation were everybody below 5% being able to not this way to classify them in agreement with for ISO  category as A. KEYWORDS: Microsprinkler, coefficient variation, power function.

The learning process of biotechnology material in SMA and MA Kubu Raya still has problems such as the lack of learning media that only textbooks and LKS. The textbooks and LKS have drawbacks, including only showing a few images, too much writing and material that does not yet contain the potential of local West Kalimantan biotechnology. So that development is carried out, namely the flip book that has gone through a validation process. However, the untrue response to the flip book is unknown, so the purpose of this study was to determine the teacher's response to the West Kalimantan-based biotechnology flip book learning typical of the Kubu Raya High School. The method used is descriptive with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data collection tool in this study was using a closed questionnaire. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique with consideration of the area and school accreditation. The results showed that the average response of teachers of SMA and MA Kubu Raya to flip books in aspects of attraction was 84.99%, material aspects 82.34%, language aspects 84.73%, and media aspects 74.73%. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the teacher's response to the West Kalimantan-based biotechnology flip book learning typical of SMA Kubu Raya has positive criteria based on aspects of interest, material aspects, language aspects and media aspects.

This article details a novel method for the determination of safe flight paths dynamically following an in-flight distress event. The method is based on probabilistic safety metrics which also include the touchdown and evacuation/rescue phases after landing. Two case studies simulating in-flight distress events, one from the west and the other from the east coast are presented using these formulations for a quantitative analysis. It is found that the nearest landing sites are not always the safest ones showing the benefits of the newly developed safety metrics. Finally, the path safety levels are plotted as a function of mission safety probability values using innovative polar plots that provide useful information to pilots.

This chapter describes the reconstruction of Elder Dempster’s company structure and development after the Second World War. It states the company’s losses in terms of vessels and staff, and assesses the changes made in management and head office accommodation in order to allow Elder Dempster to meet the level of success it had achieved in the early 20th Century. The chapter also addresses the changing composition of the West African trade after the war, which included alterations in the determination of freight rates; the extension of the West African Lines Conference; and the intrusion of Scandinavian lines into the West African trade market. The chapter concludes with Elder Dempster’s purchase of the British and Burmese Steam Navigation Company Limited.
