Can We Blame the Climate of an Organization for the Stress Experienced by Employees?

The environment of workplace has received much attention in research in human resource literature. However, its impact on employee’s behavior such as stress has not been established widely. This research explores the relationship between stress and organizational climate among employees of a large manufacturing organization. A sample of 625 employees was selected using convenience sampling method to measure the level of occupational stress and organizational climate. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was computed to study the relationship between the two variables. To identify the predictors of occupational stress with organizational climate as a criterion, stepwise regression analysis was calculated. The findings indicate that there exists a negative significant correlation between the two variables under study. Regression analysis reveals that support system, decision-making, motivational level, and warmth as climate factors, significantly predict occupational stress. The findings are significant for management practitioners, organizational psychologists, and human resources personnel since it empirically directs them to focus on diagnosing the climate of the organization, especially giving importance to strengthen the support system and empowering employees with decision-making power which, if neglected, may cause stress to employees.

ABSTRAK The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of Internal Factors toward student interest in entrepreneurship on Economics and Business Faculty of Jambi University. Sampling techniques used on is Non-Probability Sampling with Convenience Sampling Method. The number of respondents is 100 consumers. Technique analysis for this research use descriptive analysis to describe the research variables and multiple regression analysis to find the effect between research variables using SPSS 20.0. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the burnout levels of music teachers and their personalities. The research consisted of 278 music teachers who were selected from various places throughout Turkey via subjective, convenience sampling method. For data collection, the ‘Personal Information Form’, ‘Adjective Based Personality Test’ and ‘Maslach Burnout Scale’ were used. The research involved both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. The data were analyzed by quantitative t-test, multiple regression analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Data for the qualitative dimension of the research were obtained from semi-structured interviews conducted with 5 music teachers. Negative, significant relationships were determined between extroversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, openness and general burnout, while a positive, significant relationship was determined between neuroticism and general burnout. The burnout variable was found to have a statistically significant effect on the openness, neuroticism and conscientiousness dimensions of the personality types. The effects of conscientiousness and openness dimensions were not, however, found to be significant. The music teachers who had characteristics of extroversion and conscientiousness were found to have higher levels of burnout if they have the characteristics of neuroticism that reduce their exhaustion. The findings of the research show that the effect of personality types on burnout is important.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the multimodal literacy of pre-service teachers and their perception of self-efficacy in critical reading. At the same time, it is to what extent their multimodal literacy levels predict their perception of self-efficacy in critical reading. 337 students were chosen via convenience sampling for this study which was designed on the basis of relational survey model. The data which is needed to answer the relevant questions in our study was collected by means of Multimodal Literacy Scale (Bulut, Ulu and Kan, 2015) and Critical Reading Self-Sufficiency Perception Scale (Karadeniz, 2014). The analyses of the data collected were conducted through Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis technique and multiple regression analysis technique. In view of the results we have obtained in this study, multimodalness is a strong predictive of self-efficacy perception in critical reading (R=.517; R2=.267) [F(3.336)=40.483, p˂.000). The dimension of expressing oneself using multimodal structures (r=.362), interpretation of the contents presented in multimodal structures (r=.466) and preferring multimodal structures (r=.209) has a positive and significant effect on critical reading self-efficacy perception.

This research was conducted for analyzing the effect of mediating variable that is individual task proactivity as one of the proactivities of behavior towards the relationship between self-efficacy and the employees’ performance in the logistics companies of shipping the goods. It uses convenience sampling, which is a non-probability sampling method for getting the sample of 52 employees. They were divided into two divisions, namely infrastructure and quality assurance. The questionnaire consists of two parts, in which some were assessed by themselves and others that were assessed by the supervisor. They were analyzed using path analysis using analytical tools developed by Hayes, Preacher-Hayes with the simple mediation models. It was found that employees have self-efficacy, individual task proactivity, and relatively high performance, in which individual task proactivity can be a mediating variable on the effect self-efficacy on performance.

This study aims to analyse the effect of tax services, tax amnesty, taxation knowledge, and tax sactions on taxpayer compliance. The population in the study is an individual taxpayer in the city of Yogyakarta. The sample in the study was an individual taxpayer in the city of Yogyakarta, and took part in the tax amnesty program. The sampling technique in this study used the convenience sampling method. Responden in the study amounted 60 respondents. The data anlysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression analysis. This study obtained result that taxpayer compliance in influenced by tax services and tax amnesty programs. However, taxation knowledge and tax saction does not affect taxpayer compliance. The cause of taxation knowledge does not affest taxpayer compliance, perhaps the understanding of taxpayers regarding the procedures for payment and reporting is still minimal. Meanwhile, the reason for lack of support fot tax sanction on taxpayer compliance, perhaps because taxpayers consider that saction given when taxpayer violate laws are still mild. Therefore, these two reasons are factors that encourage taxpayers to behave disobediently.

<p><strong>Purpose: </strong>The purpose of this research is to identify the types of OA (sensing agility, decision-making agility and acting agility) and its role in promoting OE at the Telecommunication sector in Egypt.</p><p><strong>Research Design/Methodology:<em> </em></strong>To assess positive OA, refer to (OA questionnaire, Jaworski and Kohli 1993) and OE (OE survey Kandula, 2002; Hesseblin &amp; Gohanston, 2002). The data of the study was collected from the employees at Telecommunication sector in Egypt. Out of the 290 questionnaires that were distributed to employees, 250 usable questionnaires were returned, a response rate of 86%. Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) was used to confirm the research hypotheses.</p><p><strong>Findings:</strong> OA factors have an impact on OE is investigated. In other words, sensing agility, decision-making agility and acting agility significantly correlated with OE. The study findings support the view that OA and OE are related constructs. In other words, the research has found that the study subjects do agree that OA directly affects the dimensions of OE at Telecommunication sector in Egypt.</p><p><strong>Practical implications:</strong> The study suggests that the Telecommunication sector in Egypt can improve OE by influencing its OA, specifically, by developing sensing agility, decision-making agility and acting agility. The study provided that it is necessary to pay more attention to the dimensions of OA as a key source for organizations to enhance the competitive advantage which is of prime significance for OE.</p><strong>Originality/value: </strong>The study observes that there is a critical shortage of OA and that a greater understanding of the factors that influence the OE is needed. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between OA and OE at Telecommunication sector in Egypt. This research dealt with OA in terms of its concept and dimensions, in addition to dealing with the role of OA in promoting OE at Telecommunication sector in Egypt.

The minimum number of samples used in the study were 100 (one hundred) individual taxpayers at North Badung KPP Pratama. This study uses the accidential sampling method. The method of data collection uses the questionnaire method. The data analysis technique used is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results obtained related to understanding tax regulations, positive and significant to taxpayer obligations, as well as risk preferences can moderate the relationship of understanding tax regulations with taxpayer assistance. This research attempts to measure factors affecting pouch milk purchase in Nepalese context. Positivist approach was used and descriptive and causal study was designed. Questionnaire survey was done and structured questionnaires were designed to collect data. Subjects of the study were respondents who purchase pouch milk regularly for household consumption. 200 samples were taken based on convenience sampling method. Data were analyzed thoroughly by reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The research confirmed quality and brand name had influence on pouch milk purchase decision. No support was found for price, availability and promotion in pouch milk purchase context.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of brand image, brand awareness, and product quality on the consumer’s purchase decision. The population of this research were students of Tarumanagara University in Jakarta. The sampling frame was limited to those of the Economic Faculty. The non-probabilistic convenience sampling method was used in this research. The method of data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents. The technique of data analysis used was the multiple regression analysis. The findings of this research showed that purchase decision is positively and significantly affected by brand image, brand awareness, and product quality.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the experiences of mentors and mentees with regard to the mentoring relationship in the South African organisational context. A convenience sampling method was used to involve mentors and mentees as participants (N = 10). Qualitative methods were used to collect and analyse data on the respondents’ experiences of the mentoring relationship. It was found that both mentors and mentees tend to prefer informal mentoring relationships because of the factors that contribute to the quality of the relationship. The implications of the findings are discussed.
