Depression is a serious health problem that needs to be treated early so that it does not get worse in the future. Bullying can cause a mental health problem on students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between bullying and depression among undergraduate health students. This was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents filled out questionnaires online using the Google Form application. A total of 246 undergraduate health students participated in this study. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyse the data. There was a relationship between bullying and the incidence of depression in undergraduate health students (AOR: 2.158 (95% CI: 1.050-4.435)) after being controlled by physical attacked, close friends, loneliness, and smartphone addiction. This study proves that bullying is a risk factor for depression. Prevention of bullying is important to prevent depression. Handling and prevention are done by involving peer support from students through peer-counselor or peer-educator programs. Students with severe depression need to be treated further through an appropriate referral system.

OBJECTIVE: The number of tuberculosis (TB) cases in Indonesia is currently very high, so the analysis is needed to describe the environmental conditions at risk of TB disease. The aim of the study was to look at the prevalence of pulmonary TB in 2013-2014 in Indonesia based on the area of residence of the respondents and to see the relationship between the environmental conditions of the prevalence of TB in Indonesia. MATERIAL & METHODS: The Prevalence SPTB 2013-2014 was used cross-sectional design with national coverage. Sampling selection used multi-staged cluster sampling in the population aged 15 years and above. The analysis data used SPSS program; first analysis was used bivariate and continuing to multivariate analysis. RESULT: Tb prevalence rate with bacteriological confirmed was 759 [95% CI: 590, 961] per 100,000 population in aged 15 years and above. The bivariable analysis shown those participant who live at house with floor <8m2/person [95% CI:1,053,1,710] and those participant who lived in house with kitchen was not separated from the main living area in the house [95% CI: 1,034,1,669], that was significant related with TB. In the multivariable model, the density characterized by family members with a floor surface <8m2/person [95% CI: 1,017,1,671]is at risk of developing TB. CONCLUSION: This study shows that the effect of the physical environment of living in a crowded household can be a risk factor for TB transmission. The other factor might be influence of infection Tb in the community.

Background : Congestive heart failure (CHF) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) are both current major cardiovascular problems. Until recently, the connection between them has not been well understood yet. Mets is composed by several facets which is closely related with the pathophysiology of CHF. This study will try to discuss the relationship between Mets and CHF.Methods: We conducted an observational analytic study using cross sectional design. Subjects were gathered from January until March 2015. All data are descriptively presented, and analyzed using bivariate and multivariate method. Results: MetS itself does not account as risk factor for CHF (OR 1,49; CI95% 0,67-3,32; p=0,328). Component of Mets which shows significant relationship with CHF are raised blood pressure (OR 6,82; CI95% 1,47-31,53; p=0,014) and impaired glucose tolerance (OR 5,95; CI95% 3,26-10,85; p=0,000)Conclusion: Some elements of Mets, not Mets per se, are strong independent predictor for congestive heart failure.

Periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease caused by pathogenic oral microorganisms that leads to the destruction of alveolar bone and connective tissues around the teeth. Although many studies have shown that periodontal disease is a risk factor for systemic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, the relationship between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and periodontal disease has not yet been clarified. Thus, the purpose of this review was to reveal the relationship between NAFLD and periodontal disease based on epidemiological studies, basic research, and immunology. Many cross-sectional and prospective epidemiological studies have indicated that periodontal disease is a risk factor for NAFLD. An in vivo animal model revealed that infection with periodontopathic bacteria accelerates the progression of NAFLD accompanied by enhanced steatosis. Moreover, the detection of periodontopathic bacteria in the liver may demonstrate that the bacteria have a direct impact on NAFLD. Furthermore, Porphyromonas gingivalis lipopolysaccharide induces inflammation and accumulation of intracellular lipids in hepatocytes. Th17 may be a key molecule for explaining the relationship between periodontal disease and NAFLD. In this review, we attempted to establish that oral health is essential for systemic health, especially in patients with NAFLD.

ABSTRACT This is a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory research, with cross-sectional design that investigated the stressors experienced by nursing technicians working in general hospital and identified the coping strategies most used by them. The sample contained 310 participants. A sociodemographic questionnaire and the Ways of Coping Scale were used. For the analysis we used descriptive statistics and calculated the Cronbach's alpha. 60% of professionals used the strategies focused on the problem; 57.4% attributed their stress to working conditions, 26.8% to relationships in the workplace, 5.5% to the lack of reward at work and only 0.6% to problems personal. We conclude that strategies focused on the problems were the most used, indicating an approximation of the stressor in order to fix it. The identified stressors indicate the need for planning, stimulating and recognizing nursing professionals.

There are three hypotheses regarding the relationship between Self-Concept Clarity (SCC) and Internet use. It was argued that Internet use: 1) decreases SCC, 2) increases SCC, 3) does not relate with SCC. The present study, in the form of a systematic and meta-analytic synthesis, aimed to explore: a) the extent empirical evidence can support each hypothesis; b) how Internet use-SCC relationship was addressed across studies; c) the intensity of the Internet use –SCC relationship; d) potential moderators. Twenty-one studies (N = 8,910) met the inclusion criteria for the systematic review (i.e., being quantitative, written in English, concerned with Internet use -SCC relationship) and 11 studies (N = 3,298) met the additional criteria for meta-analysis (i.e., being correlational, using self-evaluation instruments, quantifying general Internet use and including the information needed to calculate the meta-analysis specific indicators). Results emphasized that all three hypotheses are plausible, as distinct dimensions of Internet use related differently with SCC. However, the conclusions were limited by the extensive use of cross-sectional design. For general Internet use and SCC relationship the overall effect was -0.350, p < .01. Some moderators were significant: cultural background, Internet operationalization, age homogeneity, participants rewarding. This paper outlines the complexity of SCC – Internet relationship and underlines some of the gaps that should be further addressed. Implications and limits of the study (e.g., publication bias, excluded outcomes in the meta-analysis or possible omission of moderators) are discussed.
