Abstract: Circular Economy (CE) has recently attracted the attention of academics, governments and business people due to the concept which believed to be a solution to the negative impacts caused by the traditional economic system. Previous research examining this topic has generally dominated CE principles as the focus of an investigation. Another study also conducted a mapping of CE barriers which consisted of cultural, regulatory, market and technological factors. However, the focus of such studies often makes it difficult to determine how companies are implementing CE. This article aims to fill the gap by analyzing how recycling companies manage CE based on their saving factor. This study uses a qualitative case study approach in three companies located in Pekanbaru. The first two cases are waste managers made from cans, paper, plastics and organic waste, while the last case involves a used oil refining company. Data collection was done through desk evaluations, direct interviews, and document studies, while the analysis was utilized by using within-case and cross-case. The results show that CE implementation was carried out through several approaches including adopting a sharing economy system (between companies and customers), cooperating production of similar companies, and encouraging employee skills improvement through continuous training. Keywords: Circular Economy, barriers, strategies, case studies, recycling companies

The purpose of this paper is to examine and identify the problems that are the source of conflict over local elections in Talaga Raya District. This research focuses on conflicts that occur before and after local elections. By using a descriptive method and a case study approach, the results of the study showed that the conflict over the regional head election in Talaga Raya District originated from the Difference in Choice, Misunderstanding, Some Parties were disadvantaged and feeling sensitive. In addition, the conflict of local election which took place before and after the election had implications for the conflict over the control of fresh water sources which resulted in horizontal and vertical conflicts. Besides this conflict has also brought its own wisdom with the increase in the source of clean water which had only been one to three sources. Based on these results it can be said that besides bringing down the negative impacts of the conflict it can also bring down positive impacts in the Talaga Raya sub-district community. Therefore, in terms of conflict resolution, the government should be able to minimize the conflict as early as possible so it does not drag on so that it does not lead to physical conflict.

To achieve sustainability, the circular economy (CE) concept is challenging traditional linear enterprise models due to the need to manage geographically distributed product life cycle and value chains. Concurrently, Industry 4.0 is being used to bring productivity to higher levels by reducing waste and improving the efficiency of production processes via more precise real-time planning. There is significant potential to combine these two frameworks to enhance the sustainability of manufacturing sectors. This paper discusses the fundamental concepts of Industry 4.0 and explores the influential factors of Industry 4.0 that accelerate the sharing economy in the CE context via a case of electric scooters in Taiwan. The result shows Industry 4.0 can provide an enabling framework for the sharing economy in CE implementation.

This study examines how organizations could potentially overcome the fallout of data breaches and achieve competitive advantage, by enhancing key firm capabilities through the process of sensing threats, seizing opportunities, and transforming/reconfiguring their existing resource base. We use the dynamic capabilities framework as the theoretical basis for this study. A multiple case study approach is applied to this study, using secondary data from the case studies of Target, Anthem, and Yahoo data breaches. Our findings indicate that utilizing the dynamic capability framework and its orchestration processes of sensing, seizing, and transforming/reconfiguring the resource base worked favorably in the case of Target and Anthem. However, for Yahoo, failure to utilize the aforementioned framework and orchestration processes had negative impacts on the firm. Our findings have implications for organizations regarding how they could restructure their internal practices and contain the fallout after a data breach.
