Abstract Aridity in new climatic conditions requires indexes which could adequately explain this process. All the more so, the quantities of atmospheric precipitations also continue to increase on the background of the temperatures increase in the conditions of the Republic of Moldova. Their variable character in the last period of time with the installation of dry and droughty periods alternating with rainy flood-provoking periods determines the selection of the most optimal ecometric indexes that could correctly explain the occurrence of pronounced desertification in the last period of time.

In the issue of increasing yield of sunflower seeds, the correct selection of hybrids in relation to specific soil and climatic conditions is of great concern. Each hybrid under study has its own productivity potential determined by its genotypic features. The soil and climate conditions of the Republic of Kalmykia allow to obtain 0.98...1.71 tons of hybrid sunflower seeds per hectare in terms of residual moisture after rice (280-300mm) with the correct combination of basic agricultural techniques. It is detected that there are patters of the influence of various doses of mineral fertilizers on the growth, development and formation of sunflower seed yield are established Keywords: RICE CROP ROTATION, SUNFLOWER, MINERAL FERTILIZERS, SUM OF ACTIVE AIR TEMPERATURES, VIABILITY, CROP YIELD, OIL CONTENT

One of directions of increase of profitability of industry of production of potato is the industrial processing of tubers. In this case a consumer gets ready-to-cook foods or products prepared to the consumption mainly. The processing industry requires potato varieties with a solids content of 25% and higher. And for the trouble-free providing of the industrial is processing in necessary volumes and the sorts of different terms of ripening are needed in time. Aim hired, executed in 2017 - 2019 on the mountain ground of "Курахский", there was a study of the productivity of sorts and hybrids of potato of different terms of ripening in the conditions of highland of Republic of Dagestan, with the selection of sorts with high maintenance of dry substances and starch, as perspective for the industrial processing. A comparative assessment with the data of the originators of the variety showed that when growing potatoes in the mountainous climatic conditions of the republic, in tubers, the solids content increases by 3–6% depending on the variety. Potato varieties with a solids content of 25% and higher suitable for industrial processing were identified; Desiree - 29.0%, Vector - 27.8%, Primobella - 27.9%, Mother - 26.8%. Their introduction into production is cost-effective, justified and profitable.

A growth in the number of deer and an increase in their productivity are closely related to the solution of the complex problem of reproduction and rational use of deer females. Significant damage to reindeer husbandry is caused by the barrenness of northern domestic deer, the level of which has been quite high in recent years. So, in the Republic of Sakha, on 01.01.2020, the number of domesticated reindeer was 152,068, of which female deer and heifers — 71,818, offspring per 100 females — 59, business yield amounted to 52 fawns per 100 females. The causes of infertility are very diverse, as the natural and climatic conditions of the breeding zones have a significant influence on the reproductive function of reindeer. In Yakutia, the main population of northern domestic deer is bred in mountain taiga and tundra natural-climatic zones, so there are about 55 thousand deer in the mountain taiga zone and more than 65 thousand deer in the tundra zone. In this regard, the study of the peculiarities of the postpartum period course in domestic reindeer females, its morphophysiology, and behavioral reactions depending on the natural and climatic conditions of breeding is of great importance.

The article notes that the growing popularity of healthy lifestyles contributes to the increase in consumption of fruits and berries. At the same time, the analysis of the dynamics of the gardening industry for 2000-2018 shows that the problem of providing fresh fruits and berries to the population remains one of the most important. Based on actual data, linear and logarithmic models of time series of key industry indicators for the period 2010 – 2019 have been compiled. Calculations showed that in the Russian Federation as a whole the trend of reduction of sown areas of perennial fruit plantations will continue with growth of yield and gross fees. In this regard, the issues of distribution and introduction of gardens of intensive type are updated. An overview of the views of domestic scientists-gardeners on the concept of “intensive garden” is given. It has been established that the distribution of intensive gardens is possible only if there are favorable natural and climatic conditions and a developed scientific and production base of nursery management. The current state and problems of gardening in one of the leading regions – the Republic of Dagestan - are considered. A significant technological lag of region in the further development of intensive horticulture has been identified. Various directions of intensification process in horticulture as the main and necessary condition of growth of efficient and sustainable production are summarized.

Among the several options of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) techniques, the aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) is a well-known sub-surface technique to replenish depleted aquifers, which is contingent upon the selection of appropriate sites. This paper explores the potential of ASR for groundwater recharge in the hydrological, hydrogeological, social, and economic context of South Bihar in India. Based on the water samples from more than 137 wells and socio-economic surveys, ASR installations were piloted through seven selected entrepreneurial farmers in two villages of South Bihar. The feasibility of ASR in both hard rock and deep alluvial aquifers was demonstrated for the prominent aquifer types in the marginal alluvial plains of South Bihar and elsewhere. It was postulated through this pilot study that a successful spread of ASR in South Bihar can augment usable water resources for agriculture during the winter cropping season. More importantly, ASR can adapt to local circumstances and challenges under changing climatic conditions. The flexible and participatory approach in this pilot study also allowed the farmers to creatively engage with the design and governance aspects of the recharge pit. The entrepreneurial farmers-led model builds local accountability, creates avenues for private investments, and opens up the space for continued innovation in technology and management, while also committing to resource distributive justice and environmental sustainability.

The Republic of Croatia has a long tradition of fruit growing due to its geographical location, climatic conditions, and high quality of fruit crops, especially apple fruits. Apples can be used for the formulation of functional foods either in processed form (e.g., juice), or as a by-product (e.g., apple pomace). However, there is a growing demand for functional foods derived from ancient and traditional plant sources as they are recognized as a very valuable source of health-promoting bioactive ingredients. Similarly, old apple cultivars (Malus domestica Borkh.) are characterized by good morphological and pomological properties, less need for chemicals during cultivation and the higher share of biologically active compounds (BACs) with better sensory acceptability compared to commercial cultivars. However, their nutritional and biological potential is underestimated, as is their ability to be processed into functional food. The importance in preserving old apple cultivars can also be seen in their significance for improving the nutritional composition of other apple cultivars through innovative cultivation strategies, and therefore old local apple cultivars could be of great importance in future breeding programs.
