Many users think that functional cost analysis (FCA) is quite diffi cult to understand. Perhaps this is due to the fact that there is too little information explaining what it actually is. The aim of this work is the essence of functional-cost analysis, ease-of-use. FCA is a method for a systematic study of functions, the functionality of various objects and their costs. Advantage of FSA is the presence of a fairly simple computational and graphical methods to give a dual quantitative assessment of the identifi ed causal relationships. This advantage puts the FSA in a number of the most eff ective methods of the analysis which are not only technical, but also socio-economic systems, structures, methods of organizing and planning production management and scientific research. However, the work of the FSA is carried out in isolation from the economic calculations of the enterprises and unions. Therefore, the economic standards of existing production are not covered by the functional approach, based on substantive economic analysis, planning from the achieved level. Value analysis management system allows to perform the following activities: definition and implementation total cost analysis of business processes at the enterprise (marketing, production of goods and provision of services, marketing, quality management, warranty maintenance, etc.); functional analysis associated with the establishment and justification carried out by structural subdivisions of an enterprise functions in order to ensure production of high quality products and services; definition and analysis of basic, additional and unnecessary cost functional; comparative analysis of options for reducing costs in production, marketing and management by streamlining the functions of the structural divisions of the enterprise; analysis of integrated improved results of the company.

High rates of development of the world economy, unstable dynamics of demand and prices for hydrocarbon raw materials in the international market cause the need to search for domestic reserves to optimize production costs. The modern method of management aimed at solving this problem is the functional cost analysis of business processes, which allows not only to estimate the cost of the business process, but also to identify priority areas and sub-processes that require rationalization. The article highlights the history of the value analysis, its detailed characteristics. As a feature of the value method that differentiates it from the other methods of economic analysis there is given a systematic and complex approach to the studied object. It has been stated that earlier there was not conducted a complex research to find reserves for increasing the efficiency of oil and gas companies. This fact explains the need for the full consideration of the problem. There have been considered the stages of a logical realization of the value method. The algorithm of functional-cost analysis in relation to the oil and gas company is considered on the example of the business process “Exploration”, as a result of which its functional model is built. There have been shown the evaluating criteria of business processes for oil and gas producing companies: efficiency, productivity, cost of the process, operating capacity, duration and adaptability. The value diagram of cost coefficients of functions (sub-processes) has been presented. Detailed calculations of the cost factor for the function-subprocess “Oil and gas forecast” allowed to identify priority areas of cost optimization and to offer indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of the use of functional cost analysis in the implementation of project-oriented management in oil and gas companies.

The modern development of information technology provides the opportunity to use them in many areas of life, which also include medicine and pharmacy. The introduction of technologies such as an electronic prescription system, drug labeling, creates the prereq-uisites for the remote provision of services. Recently, legislative changes have legalized the distance trad-ing of OTC drugs. In this regard, soon the supply chain of the drug to the end user may include a mini-mum number of professionals. Thus, in these condi-tions, the role of information that users can receive via the Internet is significantly increasing. Such a term as the "usability" of the site, or its ease of use, appeared back in 1998 and every year is of increasing importance. In relation to online pharmacies, the usa-bility assessment is especially relevant in terms of both general functionality, which is typical for all services selling products via the Internet, and features specific to Internet pharmacies only. On May 8, 2020, an anal-ysis of the "usability" of 20 sites of pharmacy organi-zations was conducted. Some advantages were high-lighted (putting information on the quality of goods (declarations, certificates), warnings, contraindica-tions and storage conditions in a separate block), as well as disadvantages (some clutter of the site with elements, the presence of blank pages and a fuzzy warning about prescription drugs).

The study provides knowledge on the adoption of the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology during the COVID-19 pandemic in 110 Polish service companies. As this research was the first of its kind in Poland, the objectives of the CAWI survey were to identify the technology features of the RPA technology and the related determinants and barriers influencing the adoption of the RPA as well as to determine correlations between them. Moreover, the statistical analyses involved considering whether there were differences in the evaluation of individual RPA technology features, mainly in terms of perceived usefulness, ease of use, security and functionality. The results of the study show that almost 60% of the respondents indicated that robotization tools allowed maintaining continuity of business processes during the pandemic. The highest rated were features related to usefulness of the RPA technology. Furthermore, the analysis pointed to the most frequently indicated barriers to technology implementation that were related to nonoptimized, nonstandardized and non-digitized processes with a large number of exceptions. The study contributes to scientific knowledge and has practical implications for process automation decision-makers concerned with the adoption of the Robotic Process Automation technology. The obtained results can help them to understand the potential drivers of and barriers to the adoption of software robots by enterprises and may be an important determinant for companies’ managers in the field of implementing such solutions.

The main focus when improving business processes is on the analysis of material flow. Thorough analysis of the information flow and associated information systems is still undervalued. Working with inaccurate and/or obsolete data leads to incorrect outputs that negatively affect the entire control process. Analysis of the state of material has to go hand in hand with the information analysis. A mini audit of the information flow and information system can be carried out, which follows the classic principles of VSM (Value stream mapping), in order to make an initial analysis of the information flow and information system. Information about the current state of the process together with a measure how well it is represented by the model in the information system can be obtained thanks to this mini-audit. This article focuses on this mini-audit and briefly describes the auditing process. The details of how to create VSM maps is discussed with the main focus on an information flow where the key elements are the inputs and the outputs of the job orders for planning and production management. Attention is also focused on the form of delays in discrete-event recording in the production process which appear in the information system.

Nowadays, there is no consensus that digitalization is a threat to business security or an opportunity to comprehensively manage the entire chain of business processes in real time, taking into account incoming data from all assets. However, political and economic instability, demand volatility, and competition are all a set of global challenges that digital transformation has responded to. In industry, the competitive advantage has become not the ownership of the enterprise, the firm, but access to digital technology, on which the efficiency of work with specific resources depends. The processes of forming individual business segments related to production management based on modern digital technology have already been launched and most companies are focused on this direction. The article reveals the features of the evolutionary stage of digital economy development, presents the relationship of this process with the formation of the conceptual framework from the theoretical foundations, substantiated in the 1990s by foreign and domestic scientists to modern approaches in the interpretation of digital economy definitions. The article proposes the structural dynamics of the digital economy in today's realities, revealing internal problems, opportunities for economic growth, maturity and readiness of the state to new ways of doing business in the digital economy and digital transformation, to form the country's national strategy. In addition, the conditions under which digital transformation opens up new opportunities for the business environment, the public sector and society as a whole are presented. Changes in business strategy, organizational forms, business process capabilities, new approaches in working with clients, competitive advantages, increase in profit sources are analyzed. In order to be sensible about what discount rate to use one must be clear about its purpose. We suggest that its purpose is to help select those projects that will contribute more net benefits than some other discount rate. This approach, which is after all the foundation for benefit-cost analysis, helps to reconcile different suggested procedures for determining the discount rate. We suggest that the social opportunity cost of capital (SOC) is superior to other suggested approaches in its generality and its ease of use. We use the SOC to determine a range of real rates that vary between 6% and 8%. We suggest that approaches based on determination of preferences, which result in hyperbolic discounting, are less appropriate and less useful.
