The significant of the current study is evident through limited research on the relationship between self-handicapping and self-efficacy. The study aimed at exploring self-handicapping and its relationship with self-efficacy and some demographic variables among a sample of Yarmouk University Jordanian students. The sample consisted of (793) male and female students at Yarmouk University that was selected randomly. To achieve the objectives of the study, two tools were used; the Rhodewalt (1990) Self-handicapping Scale and Almohsen (2006) Self-efficacy Scale. Reliability and validity indicators were obtained before using the scales. The results showed that self-handicapping among Yarmouk University students was average, and no statistically significant differences in self-handicapping due to gender, specialty and achievement. The results also showed a statistically negative correlation between the scores of self-handicapping as a whole and self-efficacy score and all of its dimensions except the behavioral efficacy dimension.

This study investigates the relationship between computer self-efficacy, mentoring, and the gender of mentors and students. The decline of women in IT-related programs of U.S. universities has led scholars to suggest that making more female faculty mentors available could raise female students' computer self-efficacy. This could address women's computational reticence and encourage more women to enter and remain in the programs. A survey of students from IT-related programs in five U.S. universities shows that extent of mentoring received, gender of students, and time students spent on computers as teenagers were significant predictors of computer self-efficacy. Extent of mentoring, gender of students, and gender of mentors have significant main effects on computer self-efficacy. Students with male mentors reported significantly higher computer self-efficacy while students with female mentors reported lower computer self-efficacy. Female students with no mentors reported the lowest level of computer self-efficacy.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the automatic thoughts and depression in light of gender, specialization, level of study, achievement and hours of internet-usage. The sample of this study consisted of 329 (101 males and 228 females). Two instruments were used to collect the data: the Automatic Thought Questionnaire (ATQ) and the Beck Depression Inventory- second edition. (BDI-II). The results showed a positive correlation between depression and ATQ (r = 0.8, p. < 0.001). There was a negative correlation between ATQ and depression among non-depressed students (r = -0.78, p  < 0.001). There were significant differences between male and female students (p  < 0.05) in favor of females in ATQ. There were significant differences between the levels of achievement in favor of students with excellent GPA. The results also showed that there were no significant differences (p  0.05) that related to other variables.

Abstract The purpose of this article is to examine the relationship between intelligence (IQ) and self-efficacy in children and adolescents living in the United States and Nicaragua. The sample consisted of 90 (46 male, 44 female) students (mean age=11.57 years, SD=3.0 years) referred by school administrators and faculty. United States (US) participants (n=27) resided in rural counties in the Northwest. The other group consisted of 63 students from Central America. A comparison between groups revealed that in the US, sample higher grades and IQ scores are typically associated with higher levels of self-efficacy. However in the Nicaraguan sample, both IQ scores and grades were not associated with self-efficacy, although age was correlated with self-efficacy. Results suggest that the construct of self-efficacy might change depending on whether one belongs to an individualistic or collectivistic society. Additionally, the effects of socioeconomic factors might influence perceived ability even more than intellectual abilities.

Does money bring happiness? This study was undertaken to understand and analyze the relationship between materialism and happiness. The sample consists of on young male and female students in the age group of 18-21years belonging to service class family and living in the tri-city of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. For the purpose of study respondents were selected randomly who were administered the structured questionnaire to measure happiness and materialism using Oxford Happiness questionnaire, Richards and Dawson Materialism Scale. Descriptive analysis, correlations, and t-ratios was applied to the data. Results revealed non- significant relationship between materialism and happiness. Gender difference was also studied.

The study aimed to identify the relationship between the prevailing social control methods and the level of ambition among secondary students. The researcher used the descriptive descriptive approach. In order to achieve the objective of the study, the questionnaire was used to determine the validity and persistence of the social control methods, consisting of (47) items divided into two areas (the first area: the penalties and the second field: the rewards), prepared by the researcher (2005) The study sample consisted of (367) male and female students from the Fourth Directorate of Amman. The results of the study showed that the most common methods of social control used in the field of penalties are: to punish you for the offenses you have committed. In the area of ​​charges, "promote your good behavior in front of students in public." The results also showed that the level of ambition among students was high, ). The results also showed that there is no relationship between the methods of social control and the level of ambition among students. There are statistically significant differences in the methods of social control due to the gender variable. The differences were in favor of males in penalties and in favor of females in rewards. The level of ambition is attributed Variable sex; females in all dimensions of the study for the benefit.

The study aims to identify the relationship between future career anxiety & self- efficacy among students of the General Education Diploma in South al Batinah Governorate in Oman. A descriptive research design used; In order to achieve the objectives of the study, two scales were applied: the future career Anxiety Scale & Self- Efficacy Scale on a sample of 488 male & female students. The results of the study showed that the level of professional career anxiety & level of self- efficacy among students are in general moderate. And there is a negative statistically correlation between future career anxiety & self- efficacy. Due to the growing interest in the phenomenon of self-efficacy, the psychological science examines the directions of studying self-efficacy in domestic and foreign exploratory development. The attention is focused on studies that reveal the interrelation of the self-efficacy phenomenon with other psychological phenomena, such as motivation to succeed and avoidance of failure, as well as studies devoted to the features of self-efficacy ideas in male and female students. There are publications on the data of the empiric investigation of interrelation of self-efficacy and success motivation in young people at various university training stages with presentations of analysis of differences in correlation features in male and female students. A conclusion is made that there are differences existing between the investigated indicators of self-efficacy in substantive work, self-efficacy in interpersonal communication and success motivation in the first-year and the second-year students, as well as the differences existing in the outlined indicators in the young people taking university psychological and legal courses.

This study tries to investigate the relationship between the male and female language performance and the level of anxiety among Iranian EFL students. The participants of the current study were 26 Iranian EFL students studying English in Islamic Azad University, Larestan, Iran who were selected in terms of the administering of an Oxford Placement Test. Then, the students were given The Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale. Finally, they were given an English class test which consisted of 40 multiple-choice items. The researcher calculated the correlation between the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale and the performance of both Iranian male and female students on English Class test. The findings indicated that there was a negative correlation between the level of anxiety and the students' performance on English Class Test scores. Moreover, Iranian male students were more anxious in learning English than female students.
