Also, the text seeks for understanding the way academic productivism, which is inspired in capitalist mode of production and linked to evaluation system of post-graduation programs. These, by their turn, emphasize the quantifier model of objective sciences and impose a wrong point of view of academical practices, specially in Human and Social Sciences. Human and Social Sciences, unless through a deviation of their foundation, get to be framed to the imposed model. Keywords: Currículo Lattes. Academial productivism. Evaluation.

In the late 1950s, the National Archives of Ghana (NAG) began a decentralizaton programme which has progressed to the point where there is now a NAG regional depository in eight of the country's nine regions, the only exception so far being the Upper Region. Furthermore, unlike many of the efforts at bureaucratic decentralization in Ghana, which have been more de jure than de facto -- archival decentralization in Ghana is a reality. As a result, the historical researcher who limits his efforts to the Accra branch of the NAG is risking the loss of considerable richness of detail, as a recent trip to Sekondi made abundantly clear to me.Sekondi houses the Western Regional Branch of the NAG. The Western Region is, in many respects, one of Ghana's most interesting areas. Until relatively recently it was, at one and the same time, the major center of foreign business activity in the country, and one of the country's most backward and underdeveloped areas. While ironic, this juxtaposition is certainly not surprising. But more importantly, from the point of view of the researcher into Ghana's history, it affords the opportunity for a more detailed micro-level historical examination of, for instance, the relationship between “modernity” and “tradition,” or between the “capitalist mode of production” and the “pre-capitalist mode of production.” The Western Region has been almost an ideal type in this respect, and as a consequence is virtually a laboratory, not only for the historian, but also for the historically-minded sociologist, economist, and political scientist.

Natural-science, technocracy and humanistic conceptions of noosphere are considered as the hypothetical future state of society in that Reason will take the priority place. Natural sciences defined the site of noosphere in an evolution of Universe. Now a task to choose the way of transformation of modern civilization in the reasonable shell of Earth, id est noosphere, stands before social sciences. Two ways are possible: technological way of unlimited increase of technical power and humanistic way of inlightening and perfection of man. Both ways are analysed from the point of view of bibliofuturology. Paid attention to the strategic tasks ofRussian Federation, proclaimed by the President Putin. The necessity of the purposeful forming of "noospheric man" as creator and inhabitant of reasonable noosphere is substantiated. The decision role of libraries is shown in this process. Bibliosphere is the primary and central area of noosphere. Studies about a noosphere include bibliofuturology as one of the divisions.

This article aims to present an overview of the issues surrounding ageing in contemporary French society. Firstly, it sets out the issues that are at the heart of public policy and that constitute the major current orientations of old age policies. Secondly, it discusses other societal issues that are not considered by public policies. In the third part, it adopts a micro-sociological point of view to look at the existential issues of ageing for people who are getting on in years. Finally, the conclusion provides an opportunity to discuss a fourth issue, which concerns the structuring of research in the Human and Social Sciences on ageing.

In the last couple of decades, critique has come in for a heavy beating: Critique is based on problematic notions of depth and exposure where the critic takes up a position of critical distance that presumes mastery over the material by revealing hidden depths beneath the surface. This article traces significant episodes in the development of this anti-critical critique by embedding it in a longer historical trajectory that has to do with an initially internal Marxist self-critique that paves the way for a downright dismissal of Marxism and the critical analysis of the capitalist mode of production. The article moves backward starting with Bruno Latour and his analysis of critique’s collapse to Michel Foucault and his complicated relationship to Marx and Marxism, ending with a call for a return to an analytic position that is in shouting distance to Marxism.

Doreen Massey made contributions that command the attention of historical geographical materialists. Although she was close to the left, her work strayed very significantly from Marx. Nevertheless, through her emphases she revealed, intentionally or not, important lacunae in the work of Marxist geography. Methodologically she was close to critical realism. She accepted the idea of separate structures of social relations and patriarchy was one that she emphasized. This put her at odds with Marxist views of the social process as constituted by moments that internalize one another. Her work on space was set in opposition to classical Marxist views, most notably in its insistent particularizing tendency as opposed to one that recognizes particularity but also the way in which it gets structured by the capitalist social process as a whole. This emphasis is also apparent in her work on uneven development where production and the contradictions entailed by the capitalist mode of production get neglected. Even so, in her emphasis on particularity, she provided an important challenge, not least for the way in which we approach questions of gender, the constitution of regions and countries, and the importance of the particularity of place for understanding uneven development.

This chapter is a manifesto for the reconstruction of economic history and calls for a new pact between history and the social sciences in order to counter the way economists have abused the past. The chapter cites the need for European economic historians to organize themselves with greater awareness and regain the courage to construct the type of historical models of past generations. It claims that economic history is in the midst of an intellectual crisis faced, as evidenced by the growing marginalization of the discipline in the universities. It further argues that economic history has to lift itself out of the difficult situation it is now in by becoming involved with the genuinely “social” sciences and with all those scholars who are interested in an innovative interaction with historians without imposing any particular point of view.

The role of intellectuals in a turbulence era The present article addresses the crisis of directions of the modernity project, and it is under this comprehensive context, from the historical and philosophical point of view, that the Covid-19 pandemic is analyzed. The perception that the contemporary world is plunged into bewilderment, uncertainty and loss of social horizons is analyzed from a critical and purposeful perspective. With this proposal, the article seeks, above all, to deal with the role of intellectuals, in a context of crisis, emphasizing the concern with the function of the word. In view of the enormous evidence from the Natural Sciences, activated by the Covid-19 scenario to offer immediate answers, it is also called upon to activate the function that the Human and Social Sciences, and also Philosophy have to attribute meaning to the experience world, especially in stormy times. It defends the position that Philosophy has a primary function of defending the place of reason, and, especially in stormy contexts, it must represent a reflective place capable of setting the enlightenment. This article attempts to provide a breakthrough which I call mode of production theory. This theory will be employed to analyze the contemporary phenomenon of radical Islamism. The mode of production theory is meant to bridge the two clashing theoretical paradigms in social sciences and humanities, i.e., Weberian and Marxian. Despite its bridging nature, the paper argues that the two cannot be merged within one single thread. This is because each paradigm has its own epistemological basis which is irreconcilable to one another. Mostly adapted from Marx’s theory, the current theory of the mode of production covers five interrelated aspects, namely social, political, economic, cultural, and symbolic structures. If Marx’s mode of production theory heavily relies on a material and economic basis, the theory used in this paper accommodates cultural and symbolic structures that are Weberian in nature. Although the two paradigms can operate together, the strength of structure (Marxian) overpowers the strength of culture (Weberian). This paper further argues that such cultural-based aspects as ideology, norms, and values play as mobilizing factors under a big schematic dominant structure in the rise and development of the radical Islamist groups.

It reviews the way in which ethics was addressed before the course was created, and what has happened with it through the subsequent curricular changes and the implementation of a competency based model. The course contributes to the seal of identity through a multidisciplinary approach. Theory and practice have been progressively bound together since the course was introduced, to reach a point, nowadays, in which the course is understood within the logic of competencies. This point of view implies educating students for solving ethical dilemmas, which is done through the see–judge–act methodology. This discernment methodology belongs to the Roman Catholic tradition, but is used in this context without its religious complexion. This method allows educating autonomy in order to make decisions. It also analyses the importance of contextualizing ethics education and the way in which this has been done in the course. Finally, it addresses the relevance ofcreating an ethical consciousness of the students. Keywords: Teaching experience – Professional Ethics – Discernment method

This text is an attempt to see sport in different ways in the light of ancient philosophical themes. Philosophy of sports gets less attention than other areas of the discipline that examine the other major components of contemporary society: philosophy of religion, political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of science. Talking about sports is often cheap, but it does not have to be that way. One of the reasons for this is insufficiently paid attention to the relation between sport and philosophy in Greek. That is it's important to talk about sports, just as important as we are talking about religion, politics, art and science. The argument of the present text is that we can try to get a handle philosophically on sports by examining it in light of several key idea from ancient Greek philosophy. The ancient Greeks, tended to be hylomorphists who gloried in both physical and mental achievement. Тhe key concepts from Greek philosophy that will provide the support to the present text are the following: arete, sophrosyne, dynamis and kalokagathia. These ideals never were parts of a realized utopia in the ancient world, but rather provided a horizon of meaning. We will claim that these ideals still provide worthy standards that can facilitate in us a better understanding of what sports is and what it could be. How can a constructive dialogue be developed which would discuss differences in understanding of sport in Ancient Greece and today? In this paper, the authors will try to answer this question from a historical and philosophical point of view. The paper is divided into three sections. The first section of the paper presents two principally different forms or models of focus in sport competitions – focus on physical excellence or focus on game. The dialectic discourse regarding these two approaches to physical activity is even more interesting due to the fact that these two models take precedence over one another depending on context. In the second section of the paper, the focus shifts to theendemic phenomenon of the Ancient Greek Olympic Games, where the topic is discussed from the perspective of philosophy with frequent historical reflections on the necessary specifics, which observeman as a physical-psychological-social-spiritual being. In the third section of this paper, the authors choose to use the thoughts and sayings of the great philosopher Plato to indicate how much this philosopher wasactually interested in the relationship between soul and body, mostly through physical exercise and sport, because it seems that philosophers who came after him have not seriously dealt with this topic in Plato’s way, although they could.
