In this paper, we consider the results of a study of the influence of the design and technological parameters of grinding machines of various modifications on the quality of wood pulp. According to the results of processing multifactor experiments implemented according to the second-order B-plan, a mathematical description was obtained of the dependence of the degree of grinding of pulp on the gap between the grinding disks, wear of the segments, the rotational speed of the lower screw and the concentration of pulp. The obtained regression models are adequate to the process and can be applied in practice for predicting the qualitative characteristics of wood pulp depending on the parameters of the grinding process. Analyzing the obtained experimental data, it can be noted that such factors as the state of the surfaces of grinding disks, the gap between them and the concentration of wood fiber have the greatest influence on the degree of grinding of the mass. Evaluation of graphical dependencies allows you to determine the extent to which you can vary the operating and design parameters of the grinding process to obtain wood fiber with the required grinding quality.

Currently, materials made of wood-fiber semi-finished products are widely used in house building as structural, finishing and insulating materials. According to the results analysis of numerous studies, the raw material for their production is technological chips of woodworking waste. While production, the chips are subjected to hydrothermal treatment and further grinding in disk knife grinding machines in two stages. Significant energy consumption of the wood fiber production process is driven not only by grinding wood chips in stages, but also by overcoming the hydrodynamic resistance of the aqueous environment, where grinding is carried out. The process of grinding wood chips, made of from chopping residues, in an aerodynamic medium on an upgraded cross-bar mill was studied in order to solve the problem of expanding the raw material base for the production of a wood fiber semifinished product and reducing the energy intensity of the grinding process. The features of this process were analyzed and its effectiveness was assessed. The influence of the exposure time of wood chips of chopping residues in an acetic acid solution, the size of the working gap and the angle of inclination of the front edge of the knife on the grinding degree and fractional quality of wood pulp grinding was determined. Statistical and mathematical equations, that describe the studied process, were obtained, and the graphical dependencies are constructed. The following basic requirement is fulfilled for the dependencies: the experimental points for a total should lie quite close to the curve. These equations allow predicting the quality of wood pulp depending on the set modes of the grinding process; as well as determining the quality indicators of wood pulp with known values of the technological and structural parameters of the grinding machine. The efficiency of the process of obtaining the wood-fiber semi-finished product in an aerodynamic environment from wood chips produced as a result of chopping residues (branches, twigs, etc.) processing in a mobile wood chipper, is proven.

This paper presents the results of experimental studies of the physical and mechanical properties of wood-fiber boards of the wet production method when regulating the design and technological parameters of the grinding process. This allowed us to determine the influence of the working clearance between the grinding discs and the concentration of fibre mass with the subject to of quality change wood fiber after defibrator using the developed construction of the disc fibrillation action on the physico-mechanical properties of boards. As a result of the experiment, regression models were obtained that adequately describe the studied grinding process and allow predicting the values of physical and mechanical properties of the finished product depending on the established  parameters process. A comparative analysis of the size and quality characteristics of the fiber semi-finished product and its fractional composition when using a developed construction the disc of refiner fibrillation action and a traditional design used in industry is carried out. The preferential efficiency of the grinding process under the fibrillating effect the disc of refiner in comparison with the traditional construction disc of refiner is established. As a result, there is a significant improvement in the quality indicators of the fiber semi-finished product and its composition due to the formation and predominance in the total mass of long and thin, respectively, flexible fibrillated fibers with high tile-forming properties, which allows to increase the strength properties of the product (by 20–25%), without using binding resins.

The effect of individual parts of a Venturi-tube gas distributor on quality of the gas-liquid dispersion formed was studied in a bubble-type reactor with forced liquid circulation. Gas holdup (bubble-bed porosity) was used as the dispersion characteristics, type and geometry of nozzles, suction chamber arrangement, and dimensions of the mixing tube and diffuser were chosen as variable design parameters. Experimental data of gas holdup presented in dependence on the rate of energy dissipation in the place of dispersion formation characterized then the dispersion efficiency of the Venturi tube at given conditions. Recommendations for design of Venturi-tube gas distributors are presented based upon the results of the study.

Improving the quality of pre-sowing tillage is a priority direction. Harrowing with the use of heavy disc harrows is one of the operations of pre-sowing tillage. An important task when using heavy disc harrows is to ensure sufficient load on the working body. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in increasing the efficiency of the harrowing process by adjusting the coupling weight in the tractor-harrow link using special devices. (Materials and methods) It is important to match the necessary condition of balance between the load on the working body and the traction qualities of the tractor with a low load-bearing capacity of the soil. The article describes a regulator of the coupling weight of the harrowing unit, for which was applied a patent. The article presents the general types of connection of the device with the disk harrow frame. (Results and discussion) The proposed device allows you to redistribute the weight of the unit, thereby automatically changing the load on the working body. Authors performed experimental studies on the influence of the main design parameters of the devices on the operation of the machine and tractor unit. (Conclusions) The proposed device allows, by expanding the design and technological parameters, to regulate the depth of processing, traction characteristics and speed of the harrowing unit.

The purpose of this article is to analyze theoretical and experimental data on the structures and analyze the performance of type clarifier, as well as to highlight the shortcomings of the proposed designs. It was found that for the experiments it is necessary to create a physical model of the vertical sediment tank in the laboratory using the following factors: material costs, technological parameters, design parameters. The purpose of this article is to show the effect of the velocity of upward flow of water inside the vertical settler on the efficiency of its lighting on the physical model of the vertical sediment tank. There are mathematical dependences of turbidity of clarified water as well as the efficiency of water clarification from the turbidity of the incoming water for different speed values in the lighting area of the vertical sediment tank. It was established the use of the calculations required area lighting area, vertical settling tanks, water speed, cleansing of water without efficiency loss, which leads to significant savings in capital investments.

We studied influence of the polyfunctional food supplement "Magnetofооd" on the technological parameters of rye-wheat dough semi-finished product and the finished product. A positive effect of the supplement "Magnetofооd" on the technological parameters of dough and the bread baked using it, is shown. It was established that adding the food supplement "Magnetofооd" in the amount of 0.15 % of the weight of flour reduces dough fermentation time by 13.0 on average %. The introduction of the food supplement "Magnetofооd" also increases the yield of a dough semi-finished product by 2.9 % on average and improves the yield of the finished product by 3.45 % on average. It was revealed that the multifunctional food supplement "Magnetofооd" enhances the quality of rye-wheat dough semi-finished product and the finished product due to its capacity of moisture retention and the inhibition of hydrolysis processes of the basic ingredients of dough. The obtained experimental data could be used to develop a technology of rye-wheat bread, enriched with the polyfunctional food supplement "Magnetofооd".

In this paper it is presented an analysis regarding the influence of temperature from the chipping area, in the machining by centerless grinding with transversal feed. The temperature influences the machining precision, the additional loads of the machine – device – tool – part elastic system and the measurement accuracy. These influences have direct impact on the precision and quality of the machined parts executed using the centerless grinding process.

The results of the research on the influence of the drum type reactor design-technological parameters and the substrate`s physical-chemical parameters on the substrate`s components mixing evenness, that influence the quality of the received compost, are presented in this paper. By the method of the multifactor experiment rational values of the drum rotation speed, the blades (mounted on the inner drum surface) angle and the substrate`s moisture content are defined at which the components distribution homogeneity in the substrate reaches maximal value. The abovementioned, in turn, provides high compost quality by the agrichemical indices. The recommendations are given to pick the design parameters and operational modes of the drum type reactor.

The efficiency of the process of grinding meat and bone feed depends on a number of design and technological parameters of the grinder operation. One of the most significant issues and at the same time the least studied one is the influence of the number of cycles of loading meat and bone feed with the working bodies of grinders on the particle size of the finished meat and bone feed. To study this issue, the authors proposed a method for modeling the process of grinding meat and bone feed using a stochastic B-model of cumulative damage, which is based on an understanding of the process under study at the macroscopic level and experimental data. The constructed B-model made it possible to determine the optimal number of cycles of loading meat and bone feed with the working bodies of the grinders, at which the required particle size of the finished meat and bone feed is 3...5 mm, and there is no unnecessary energy consumption of the grinding process. This number is equal to 12...18 cycles. The results obtained by the B-model are in good agreement with the experimental data. The constructed B-model of the grinding process of meat and bone feed will further help optimizing the operation of the cutting device and reducing energy consumption for the operation of the grinders as a whole.
