<p>The paper deals with physical preparation of professional soldiers. It is focused on the development of aerobic endurance within practical physical preparation lessons at military units. In order to fulfil the goals of the research, the authors organised a natural pedagogical experiment to find out which of the 7 typical aerobic activities implemented in the experimental and reference couples (n=28) during the 6-week-long experimental period have the most effective impact on the development of aerobic endurance in professional soldiers in the Slovak Armed Forces. The results showed that the most effective means for the development of endurance were found obstacle track, terrain running in combination with fast road marches, various types of shuttle runs and jumping and acrobatic exercises. Swimming, cycling, ski running and sport games can be recommended as suitable complementary activities. From the point of view of methodology, the most effective organisation pattern represented the one in which exercises were organised in 4 training sessions during 20 minutes each, performed for 6 weeks in a row. Statistically significant changes in the level of aerobic endurance proved the hypothesis that physical fitness and psychic resistibility of professional soldiers can be improved by the selected most effective means also in shorter time period of physical preparation.</p>

Successful combat missions in local conflicts depend on the level of professional and physical training of servicemen. An effective means of physical training of military personnel are military-applied sports, which, on the one hand, provide for a high general level of physical fitness of military personnel, and on the other, form military-applied skills and abilities necessary in modern combat. The concept of development of physical training and sports in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the period up to 2020, which was created taking into account the experience of combat operations in eastern Ukraine, NATO standards and the Euro-Atlantic integration vector of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provides for approximation of physical training. introduction and development of military-applied sports. The article is devoted to the theoretical substantiation of the need to introduce military-applied sports into the educational process of the physical training of future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Research methods: theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature, advanced experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, governing documents. It was found that the introduction of military-applied sports in the educational process for the physical training of future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will contribute to an increase in their level of physical fitness, the upbringing of moral-volitional and psychological qualities, the formation of military-applied motor skills. In turn, this will contribute to the successful fulfillment of combat missions as intended in the process of military professional activity.

Subject Barranquilla is adopting a hard line approach to tackling crime Significance Soldiers began street patrols on January 1 in the Caribbean port city of Barranquilla where the murder rate is at its highest level since 2007. To reduce violence and street crime, Barranquilla's incoming mayor Alejandro Char has announced a series of security measures, including the use of military units to police the city's worst-affected areas. Such initiatives aim to reduce the human cost of crime and to prevent deteriorating security from undermining efforts to expand international trade in the city's free trade zone. Impacts Increased numbers of military checkpoints will likely result in delays for goods transported through Barranquilla. Should military intervention prove an effective means of combating crime in the city, a similar model may be employed in other areas. However, a militarisation of policing could backfire, leading to increased violence and a discrediting of the armed forces.

The author identifies six main stages and outlines the peculiarities of legal regulation of the sale of land plots and rights to them on a competitive basis at each stage. The first stage was from 18 December 1990 to 28 June 1996; the second stage took place from 28 June 1996 to 1 January 2008, covering the period of adoption of the effective Land Code of Ukraine dated 25 October 2001; the third stage lasted from 28 December 2007 to 5 July 2012; the fourth stage was the stage of the development of competitive acquisition of rights to land plots covering the time period from 5 July 2012 to 21 June 2017; the fifth stage covered the experimental period from 21 June 2017 to 1 October 2019; the sixth stage has been going on since 1 October 2019. This periodization enables, firstly, to create a systematic view of the development of legal regulation of the competitive principles of acquiring rights to land plots under the land legislation of Ukraine; and secondly, to assess the legal risks of acquiring rights to land plots having been acquired in a period of time corresponding to the stage of legal regulation. The conducted analysis of the genesis of legal regulation of the sale of land plots and rights to them on a competitive basis indicates that in the circumstances of lack of legal framework for land auctions, the process of disposal of land plots and rights to them on a competitive basis have not been stopped. Each of the identified stages of legal regulation, except for the fourth one and the last one, has some contradictions in the source base bearing some legal risks for the contracts of sale of land plots on a competitive basis concluded at these stages. Like the Presidential Decrees at the first stage and the Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at the fifth stage, the decisions of local councils at the second and third stages were a means of and an attempt to accelerate the necessary changes in the land legislation. On the one hand, these regulatory acts are contrary to the provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine, and on the other hand, they are administrative acts that have been in force for a certain period of time and have not been repealed or deemed to be unconstitutional. Therefore, in making the legal evaluation of the agreements concluded on a competitive basis, they should be assessed taking into account the abovementioned factors.

Law, being a mode of social engineering, cannot be viewed in isolation. The vitality of law as a living organism is primarily dependent on the judge’s ability to interpret the same. From its nascent stage, the apex court in India has struggled with the issue of striking an equilibrium between economic and social reform programmes on the one hand and establishing the credibility of India by fostering respect for rule of law, on the other. This article deals with the changing dimensions of the Indian judiciary in playing a fundamental role in shaping the constitutional jurisprudence. The researcher seeks to examine the varying trends of the Supreme Court of India from the 1950’s to 1970’s, the 1980’s in the light of the introduction of Public Interest Litigation, the post 1990’s with the approach to liberalization and finally, the time period from 2000, wherein the judiciary has taken up an activist role. Further, the judicial reforms initiated to enhance administration, including the introduction of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, the constitution of Lok Adalats to amicably settle and compromise the disputes pending in the courts, the providing of free and competent legal aid to the poor and weaker sections of the society in consonance with Article 39A of the Constitution, the establishment of specialized tribunals, both administrative and internal (for instance Administrative Tribunals and the Armed Forces Tribunal) as well as tribunals dealing with the disputes arising out of or associated with economic activities such as Competition Appellate Tribunal, Securities Appellate Tribunal etc. have been highlighted. However, the researcher urges that the need of the day is to strive towards better quality of government and enhanced administration and that the judiciary has an essential role to play in achieving that goal. In conclusion, it is stated that unless people’s mental barriers towards reforms are broken, attempts of external remedies are bound to fail.

Infections of the respiratory tract (acute respiratory infection (ARI), acute bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.), skin and subcutaneous tissue (pyodermas) are the most urgent for the conscripts in training units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The most common complication of ARI is community acquired pneumonia, severe course of which leads to an unfavorable outcome. In the first period of military service in a number of military units up to the one-third of the military personnel gets pyoderma. Factors of military service and a significant reduction in body immunoresistance of recruits contribute to the high incidence. The use of herbal drug preparation "Karmolis drop" with a prophylactic purpose permits to significantly reduce the incidence of ARI in military units - in 2,0-3,3 times. Also, there was noticed a decrease in the incidence of pneumonias - 2.33.0 times, tonsillitides - in 3,2-6,8 times, pyodermas - in 1,8-2,9 times. The use of the drug "Karmolis drop" has a pronounced non-specific protective effect and resistance to diseases of the respiratory system and pyoderma due to the increase of general non-specific resistance of the organism, allows to prevent substantial economic damage. The preparation can be recommended for the prevention of ARI and pyodermas in groups of troops prior to their seasonal breaks.

A personal information form was used for determine their relationships with sport earlier in life and and now. The protocol of Senior Fitness Test (SFT) consisting of 6 different stations was used to determine of physical fitness levels of participants. The One Way Anova and LSD test was used to analyse variables of differences between groups according to participation in sport early in life and now and the threshold for significance level was 0.05.There was statistically significant differences between physical fitness parameters of the groups “those who did sports in their younth, but now don't" (YYON) and ““Those who didi sports in their youth and now" (YYOY), only. The groups of “those who did sports, but now don't" (YYON) and “have never done sports" (YNON) have the lowest physical fitness levels (p<0,05).Physıcal exercise in terms of sports and exercises have positive effects on physical fitness levels but if the sport is not a life style, physical fitness levels from the exercise will be lost over time. Starting from this point of view, the expression “It doesn't matter what you did yesterday, what you’re doing today matters" is extremely important in relation to exercise and sport.

The article analyzes the role of presuppositions, which are widely used in the Spanish political and journalistic discourse as a means of manipulating language, and are focused on strengthening the management capacity of language to provide a hidden impact on recipients. Presuppositions implicitly convey information; they are convenient and effective means of imposing a particular point of view, alien description and vision of reality. Presuppositions impose situation and action assessment, which does not coincide with the one that recipients of the information could form on their own.

Abstract. The article discusses the emergence of a functional literacy construct and the rediscovery of illiteracy in industrialized countries during the second half of the 20th century. It offers a short explanation of how the construct evolved over time. In addition, it explores how functional (il)literacy is conceived differently by research discourses of cognitive and neural studies, on the one hand, and by prescriptive and normative international policy documents and adult education, on the other hand. Furthermore, it analyses how literacy skills surveys such as the Level One Study (leo.) or the PIAAC may help to bridge the gap between cognitive and more practical and educational approaches to literacy, the goal being to place the functional illiteracy (FI) construct within its existing scale levels. It also sheds more light on the way in which FI can be perceived in terms of different cognitive processes and underlying components of reading. By building on the previous work of other authors and previous definitions, the article brings together different views of FI and offers a perspective for a needed operational definition of the concept, which would be an appropriate reference point for future educational, political, and scientific utilization.
