This study aims to analyse prospective teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs, teaching motivation, and attitudes towards teaching from the aspect of a number of variables. The research data were collected through “Teachers’ Sense of Self-efficacy Scale”, “Motivation to Teach Scale”, “Attitude Scale of Teaching Profession”. The study group was composed of 543 undergraduate students and taking teaching formation courses. Consequently, it was found that the prospective teachers who had chosen the department of study or graduation voluntarily had higher self-efficacy, motivation and attitudes than those who had not chosen the department voluntarily. The difference was found significant for both independent variables, but the interaction effect of the independent variables was not found significant for the dependent variables considered in this study. In addition to that, on examining the correlations between variables, it was found that the highest correlation was between intrinsic motivation and attitudes whereas the lowest correlation was between self-efficacy and motivation. The regression analysis performed indicated that attitudes had significant effects on self-efficacy and motivation. The findings suggested that such factors as attitudes, self-efficacy, and motivation should be taken into consideration in teacher training, and that other variables thought to have significant effects on teaching profession should also be analysed in studies to be conducted in the future.

Education seeks to develop the innate inner capacities of man. The ultimate goal of education is to prepare the students to be responsible and mentally healthy person to live on this earth. In order to achieve this, students are to be molded only by making them experience the significance of values in the school itself. In most of the cases education takes place under the guidance of teachers. Teachers are the biggest influencers in a student’s life. Their personality and attitudes contribute to a great extend in students learning. In this respect, determining the attitude of prospective teachers towards teaching profession is of great importance. The main objectives of this paper are to test: academic attitude of prospective teachers towards teaching profession; and administrative attitude of prospective teachers towards teaching profession. Tool used for the study was ‘attitude scale towards teaching’, developed by Dr. (Mrs.) Ummen Kulsum. In order to analyze the data, Z-score in terms of standard deviations from the mean was used. The study was delimited to West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya.

In this study, the relationship between attitudes of pedagogical formation program pre-service teachers towards teaching profession and their self-efficacies has been examined. In this case, the effect of graduation branches of the pre-service teachers on teacher self-efficacies and the effect of teacher self-efficacies on attitudes towards teaching profession have been investigated. From this aspect, this research has the characteristics of causal-comparative research. Being suitable for the purpose of this research, it has been carried out with 300 pre-service teachers registered to pedagogical formation training certificate program at a state university in Turkey. Being conducted on pre-service teachers and established scaling models incidental to “Attitude Scale towards Teaching Profession” and “Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale” has been confirmed and the conformity index values obtained from the scaling model have shown good conformity. It is also seen that the structural equation model which is established in order to test the effect of branches on teacher self-efficacies and the effect of teacher self-efficacies on attitudes towards teaching profession has been confirmed and conformity index values have shown good conformity.

This study explored the writing self-efficacy of English education undergraduates at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. Nowadays, many students still have not used self-efficacy in their studies. Consequently, they may encounter difficulties when working on tasks. As a result, the scores obtained are not the highest. Which may make them lack the motivation to learn. The purpose of this research was to determine the application of self-efficacy in writing works for the undergraduate course of English Education at Sanata Dharma University. The research question was: How can undergraduate students of the English Education Study Program manage self-efficacy and writing anxiety to complete the academic writing class? This research adopted qualitative methods making use of the Likert scale and interviews. The questionnaire was distributed to Sanata Dharma University’s undergraduates who had received English courses in reading literary works. The results show that undergraduates have a high sense of self-efficacy, can complete academic writing on time, and we are motivated by their internal and surrounding environments.

A convergent mixed methods research study was used to investigate whether or not undergraduate students who participated in a problem-based learning (PBL) laboratory environment improved their self-efficacy beliefs in chemistry. The Chemistry Attitude and Experience Questionnaire (CAEQ) was used as a pre- and post-test to determine changes in students' self-efficacy beliefs in general chemistry laboratories at a Midwestern University in the USA. Interviews were used to augment the quantitative data. Paired samplet-tests were used to determine the difference in means between pre- and post-tests. Analysis of variance was used to determine the influence of confounding variables. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the interview data. There was an observed improvement in students' self-efficacy beliefs using both qualitative and quantitative data. Interviews with the participants indicated that students had higher self-efficacy beliefs in chemistry for conducting chemistry experiments and for participating in undergraduate research after the PBL laboratory experience than they had before it. Students felt that PBL provided them with autonomy while exploring phenomena and allowed them to take more responsibility for their own learning. This study is significant in that it adds knowledge to research on the effects of PBL instruction and strengthens existing information on the relationship between PBL and the affective domain. Results from this study may also be informative to chemistry laboratory instructors on what PBL has to offer with regard to student outcomes.

Power sharing and delegation is politics in nature. The economic side appears on the regional budget planning and realisation. It is the mechanics and the setting of general policy, priority, and plafond of temporary budget. The latent fiscal gap occurs when revenues collected are lesser than expenditures spent, vice versa. Higher portion of expenditures posted as basic allocation has not been coped well with steady regional income. Supports in terms of better capability and capacity to collect regional revenues appear to be non-existent and meaningless, but the resource-rich regions. Even so, the central government appears to have big and deep impacts on the definition of taxable objects and types, and local retributions. This study is to seek which financial performance indicators that can be well-predicted by a numerous variables and indicators forming the regional budgets (APBD) of 34 provinces in Indonesia in 2018. The data was collected from DJPK website in early May 2019. The research method is quantitative descriptive in nature, and using both the OLS regression and determinant regression analysis. Based on the research of recent studies, a numerous financial performance indicators were derived as dependent variables, along with the variables forming the regional budgets of 34 provinces in Indonesia as independent variables. Sixteen dependent variables were set, whilst the 48 independent variables comprised of 4 groups, that is 4 variables of regional specific (r_#), 23 variables of revenues (y_#), 9 variables of expenditures (c_#), and 12 variables of finance/fiscal (f_#). Upon the results of OLS linear regression, 3 variables of financial performance appeared to be the most significant and appealing than the rest. They were independence (k_08), the ratio of DAU in TKDD to the DAU Formula (k_16), dan decentralisation (k_10). On the contrary, 3 variables of financial performance appeared to have no determining variables. They were PAD growth (k_14), fiscal soundness and regional financial management (k_03), dan effectiveness (k_11). These 3 variables were a part of 4 variables having the least adjusted R2, with infrastructure (k_04) as the remaining one. The heteroscedastic nature that appears in the k_14 estimation equation has suggested that k_14 fails to be used as the benchmark and reference of financial performance of regional budgeting, at least in its definition and operationalisation in this study and research. Likewise the usage of f_07 variable, the fiscal gap 1, the difference of DAU Formula with basic allocation (in basic data source).

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the Pedagogical Formation Certificate Program (PFCP) on prospective teachers’ professional self-efficacy beliefs and attitudes towards the teaching profession. The study was conducted through convergent parallel mixed method design (Creswell & Plano Clark, 2015). In the quantitative phase, one group pretest-posttest design was used. The data relating to prospective teachers’ professional self-efficacy beliefs before and after the PFCP were collected through “Teaching Self-Efficacy Perception Scale” developed by Tschannen-Moran & Hoy (2001) and adapted into Turkish by Çapa, Çakıroğlu & Sarıkaya (2005). “Attitudes towards Teaching Profession Scale”, developed by Çetin (2006), was utilized for exploring prospective teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching profession. In the qualitative phase, the data were collected through open-ended questions. The participants consisted of 150 prospective teachers who attended the PFCP held at Mersin University in the 2014-2015 academic year and who were accessible before and after the PFCP. Quantitative data were analyzed through paired-samples t-test; and deductive qualitative analysis (Patton, 2014) was utilized for the qualitative data. As a result of the quantitative data analysis, there was no significant difference between prospective teachers’ professional self-efficacy beliefs and attitudes towards the teaching profession before and after the PFCP.  After the qualitative data analysis, it was determined that the quantitative and qualitative results of the professional self-efficacy beliefs partially converged, but the quantitative and qualitative results of the attitudes towards the teaching profession diverged.  The possible reasons for these results were discussed in light of the related literature.
