We are faced with an epidemic that has never spread to such a large area in the world. After the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the whole world and all sectors, people's struggle for life increased, and the psychological pressures of the pandemic deeply affected everyone. People worked from their homes during the first pandemic period, but when they switched to face-to-face work, the risk factor of contracting the disease emerged. In this context, the aim of our research is to examine the personal and institutional effects of stress, burnout syndrome due to stress, and as a result of this, their professional commitment when it comes to the situation of being in the same environment with covid-19 positive or covid-19 contacts. The research was conducted using the questionnaire technique, one of the quantitative research methods. 56 female and 70 male employees participated in the study and it was determined that there was no deficiency in the data obtained from these people and all of them were used. As a result of the studies, it has been determined that the effect of the Covid-19 process on the employees is a significant difference in terms of stress and burnout syndrome, but there is no significant difference in terms of professional commitment. With the development of technology and the deterioration of nature, it is thought that measures will be taken to prevent the stress and burnout levels of aviation group employees from  increasing by considering these and similar studies in the next epidemics or large-scale crisis situations. ​Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. Özet Dünya üzerinde hiç bu kadar büyük alana yayılmamış olan bir salgınla karşı karşıya kalmış bulunmaktayız. Tüm dünyanın ve tüm sektörlerin etkilendiği Covid-19 pandemisi sonrası insanların hayat mücadelesi daha da artmış, pandeminin psikolojik baskıları herkesi derinden etkilemiştir. İnsanlar ilk pandemi döneminde evlerinden çalışmış ancak sonra yüz yüze çalışmaya geçildiğinde hastalığa yakalanma riski faktörü ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu bağlamda araştırmamızın amacı havacılık grubu çalışanlarının, covid-19 pozitif ya da covid-19 temaslı olan kişilerle aynı ortamda bulunma durumu söz konusu olduğunda stres, strese bağlı olarak tükenmişlik sendromu ve bunların sonucunda mesleki bağlılıkları ile ilgili kişisel ve kurumsal etkilerini inceleyerek çalışma yapılmasıdır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden anket tekniği kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya 56 kadın ve 70 erkek çalışan katılmış olup bu kişilerden elde edilen verilerde eksiklik olmadığı saptanmış ve tamamı kullanılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda Covid-19 sürecinin çalışanlara etkisinin stres ve tükenmişlik sendromu açısından bakıldığında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu, mesleki bağlılık anlamda bakıldığında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı saptanmıştır. Teknolojinin gelişmesiyle ve doğanın bozulmasıyla beraber gelebilecek olan sonraki salgınlarda ya da büyük çaplı kriz durumlarında bu ve benzeri çalışmalar göz önüne alınarak, havacılık grubu çalışanlarının stres ve tükenmişlik düzeylerinin artmaması için önlemler alına bilineceği düşünülmektedir.

AbstractThe computer gaming addiction is one of the newer concepts that young generations face and can be defined as the excessive and problematic use of computer games leading to social and/or emotional problems. The purpose of this study is to analyse through variables the computer gaming addiction levels of secondary school students. The research was conducted with survey and causal-comparative quantitative research methods. Furthermore, the quantitative data was obtained by interpreting the data obtained through open-ended questions. Findings reveal a significant difference between computer gaming addiction and variables of gender, daily gaming times and whether or not students play games with people they do not know. However, findings did not show any significant difference between computer gaming addiction and variables of grade or purposes of game playing. According to the findings from qualitative data analysis, students mostly prefer to play skill-based games, while they would want to design action games.Keywords: Computer gaming, daily gaming times, game addiction, purposes of game playing, secondary school students.

The aim of this research is to determine teachers’ attitude levels towards assessment and evaluation who teach Turkish as a foreign language and to examine them in terms of various variables. Survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. Teachers (n=233) who teach Turkish in various institutions participated in the research. “Personal Information Form” prepared by researchers and “Assessment and Evaluation Attitude Scale for Teachers” developed by Tezci (2019) were used as data collection tools in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that on average the Turkish teachers’ attitude scores towards assessment and evaluation is at a “high” level with 4.11. In addition, a significant difference was found between the Turkish teachers’ attitudes towards assessment and evaluation and the variables such as professional experience, receiving training for assessment and evaluation in language teaching, analising of prepared exams in terms of assessment and evaluation and evaluation and perceiving themselves as literate in assessment and evaluation. No significant difference was found between the attitudes of those who teach Turkish towards assessment in terms of the faculty they graduated from, the institutions where they were employed, regular exam preparation status, the hardest skill to assess, and the hardest skill to evaluate. Although attitudes of teachers towards assessment and evaluation are found at a “high” level in the research, taking into consideration the fact that there are many deficiencies in terms of assessment and evaluation in teaching Turkish as a foreign language and 46% of the teachers in this study consider themselves moderately literate in terms of assessment and evaluation, suggestions were made that it is necessary to work on what other factors affect teachers’ assessment and evaluation literacy

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Petanque throwing technique in UKM UPGRIS. The method used in this research uses quantitative research methods with a comparative approach and is assisted by the Kinovea software application version 0.9.3 which is used to measure. Kinovea is one of the software used to analyze motion, using this application we can play the captured video for analysis. The results of this study concluded that based on the analysis of several samples, the athlete's height and arm length affected the size of the backswing and release angles. There are differences in backswing and release angles based on the hypothesis test for the distance of 6 backswing 68-113, an average of 95.33 and 52-96 releases, an average of 66.83, a distance of 7 backswing 67-113, an average of 103.18 and a 52-89 release, average 75.27 average, 8 backswing distance 78-119, 106.27 average and 58-90 release, 77.90 average, and 9 backswing distance 78-140, average 111.45 and 60-91 release, average 79.81. There is no significant difference in the type of shooting, because a significant value <0.05, H0 is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the taller the athlete's body and arm length, the smaller the backswing and release angle used and vice versa. There are differences in backswing and release angles at shooting distances of 6 meters, 7 meters, 8 meters and 9 meters. There is no difference in backswing and release angles to the accuracy of shooting carreau, reussi, and touche types.

The first positive case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Indonesia was announced in March 2020. Since then, the positive cases have continued to increase. This condition prompted the government to adopt the Large-Scale Social Restriction (LSSR)/Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB). Some areas included in endemic regions for dengue face two problems: overcoming COVID-19 and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) simultaneously. Five economic growth center cities/districts in East Java Province (Gresik, Bangkalan, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Lamongan) were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and dengue fever. This was a quantitative research with a comparative design study using the Wilcoxon test to compare the cases of DHF pre-COVID-19 and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Wilcoxon test result showed no significant difference with a p-value of 0.319 (p-value>0.05). It can be concluded that DHF still becomes a problem in five cities/districts in East Java Province even though LSRR was applied. Extra attention is needed to overcome DHF. One of the efforts to prevent and control DHF during the COVID-19 pandemic is to build community independence through the one house one health cadres’ movement.

Nowadays social media platforms have become a medium that allows people to post anything they wish. Since the time internet grew, a radical change has been discerned in society. With the emergence of social media sites, many challenges also thrived in the society that took the society into interesting and alarming ways altogether. As time is passing as technology is intensifying new forms of hate, abuse, bullying, and discrimination are also increasing in society. It can be said that digital technology is reshaping coercion based on caste, color, gender, race, culture, likes, dislikes. Many societies are concerned with this problem of growing hate speeches on social media but no proper barrier on these sites has been seen to prevent hate discourses. This study examined the attitudes of social media users including Facebook and Twitter over the incident of Noble Prize laureate Malala Yousufzai, a young activist who worked and spoke for the educational rights of girls who were born in Swat valley. She spoke against this erroneous system that didn’t allow girls to gain education and became a prominent member of society at the little age of 14. She was shot by Taliban and then a controversy started against her, some people admired her and she became a celebrity all over South Asia while an extreme amount of criticism was also seen against her incident. Through this study, we aim to understand the abundance of hate speech on Facebook and Twitter in South Asia by using Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods. For that purpose we took the case study method and provide a large-scale measurement and analysis of different hashtags used during the case of Malala on the social media platform. To achieve the objective of our research, we amassed Tweets and Facebook posts posted since the year 2011 till now related to this case. This article identifies numerous forms of hate speeches on social media that are arising in South Asia and altering the minds of people using social media, it is also guiding how to abate hate speeches that are delivered on social media with particular hashtags on various incidents and matters. The collected data revealed that hate speech has become a social problem with substantial inimical effects in societies. This study explains that social media should be utilized to benefit mankind positively and gently.

Scientific process skills are the foundations of science and allows doing research and drawing conclusions. Scientific process skills, perhaps one of the most important tools to produce and edit information about people around the world. Therefore, the students needed to have the understanding and skills to do scientific researches. Hence, the aim of this study is to investigate the effect of nature of science activities on elementary 4th grade students’ scientific process skills. The study group of the study is 65 fourth grade students educating in Denizli in a medium socio-economic elementary school in the term of 2012-2013. The study was conducted with quantitative research methods. One group pretest-posttest measurement in this study was applied to the experimental model. For data collection; scientific process skills scale was used. The application of the study lasted 9 weeks and all students were given the scales as pretest and posttest. The results showed that there are significant differences between pretest and posttest with respect to science process skills in favor of posttests. ​Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file.   Özet Bilimsel süreç becerileri, bilimin temelidir ve araştırma yapmayı ve sonuç çıkarmayı sağlar. Bilimsel süreç becerileri, kişinin etrafındaki dünya hakkında bilgiler üretmesi ve düzenlemesi için belki de en önemli araçlardan biridir. Bu yüzden, öğrencilerin, bilimsel araştırma yapmak için gerekli anlayışa ve becerilere sahip olmaları gereklidir. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmanın amacı Bilimin doğası etkinliklerinin ilkokul 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel süreç becerilerine etkisini incelemek olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma kapsamında deneme modeli türlerinden deneme öncesi, tek grup ön ölçüm-son ölçüm modeli kullanılmıştır. Denizli ili merkezinde bulunan orta sosyo-ekonomik düzeydeki ilkokullardan birinde, 2012-2013 eğitim-öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 4. sınıf öğrencileri kapsamında (65 öğrenci) uygulamalar yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında veri toplama aracı olarak “Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri” testi kullanılmıştır. Bu testin 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel süreç becerilerini ölçmek amacıyla seçilmesinin temel nedenlerinden birisi alan yazında Fen Bilimleri dersi kapsamında geliştirilmiş ve yayınlanmış en yeni test olmasıdır. Çalışma sonucunda bilimin doğasına yönelik etkinliklerle öğrenim gören çalışma grubu öğrencilerinin bilimsel süreç becerileri ölçeği son-ölçümden aldıkları puanların ortalaması, ön-ölçümde aldıkları puanların ortalamasından yüksek çıkmıştır.

The aim of this research is to determine the anxiety levels of teacher candidates regarding Facebook usage in education and analyse it according to various variables. In the research, descriptive survey model was used which is one of the quantitative research methods. The population of the research includes 184 teacher candidates who are receiving education in the Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies Education of Siirt University Faculty of Education in 2017-2018 academic year. Since the population is accessible, no attempt has been made for sampling. Facebook Usage Anxiety in Education (FUAE) scale was used as data collection inventory in the study. According to results obtained in the research; it was seen that the anxiety levels of teacher candidates were high while using Facebook, Facebook usage anxiety had no significant difference with respect to class and age independent variables; however, there was a meaningful difference with respect to gender independent variable.

The present research aims to determine the effect of films including school and teacher whose learning processes are applied with “Critical Reflection Skills (CRS)” on the critical reflection skills of 4th primary education teachers. In accordance with this purpose, the research was carried out with 73 participants who were the 4th grade students in the Primary Education Teacher Training Department of Gazi Faculty of Education in Gazi University in 2012-2013 education year. The qualitative and quantitative research methods were applied together during the process. Data were collected with “The Critical Reflection Self-assessment Scale (CRSS)” - “Critical Team Application Focus Team Interview Form (CTAFTIF)” and “ Meta Team Observation Form”. During the data collection process, the participants watched the school and teacher containing films at first and then, “Critical Reflection Application (CRA)” adapted from “Critical Reflection Strategy with Teams” was applied. Content analysis was adopted in the analysis of the qualitative data gathered during the research process. In the analysis of the quantitative data, t-test and one-way variance analysis were used.  The results of the conducted research demonstrated that teachers started to generate thinking of critical reflection with school and teacher containing films and the CRA process. It was noticed that statistically a significant difference occurred between the control and experimental groups in terms of critical reflection skills.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between reading habits and reading anxiety of secondary school students. In this research, the relational survey model of quantitative research methods was used. The research population consists of students who study at primary schools in the Palandöken district of Erzurum province in the 2019-2020 academic year. The research sample consists of students studying at a secondary school in Palandöken district, including 358 student participants. The research data was collected using two scales. According to the findings, while the gender variable made a significant difference in the reading habits of the students, it did not make a significant difference in reading anxiety. In terms of other sub-problems, the variables of grade, watching television, and going to the library differ significantly in terms of students’ reading habits and reading anxiety. While there was no significant difference in terms of the mother’s educational level variable, there was a significant difference in favor of the students whose father graduated from secondary education. In addition, it was found that there was a negative correlation between reading habits and reading anxiety of secondary school students, and that reading anxiety decreased when students’ reading habits increased.

"Abstract: The aim of this study was to examine the awareness levels of the gifted students and normally developing peers related to the environmental education concepts. In line with this purpose, the survey design, which is one of quantitative research methods, was used in the study. 209 gifted students receiving education in a Science and Art Center in the Eastern Anatolia and 250 secondary school students receiving education in the public schools during the fall term of the 2019-2020 school year, participated in the study. In the study, the Environmental Education Concepts Awareness Scale was used as data collection tool. Necessary validity and reliability studies were conducted for the scale used. The independent samples t-test and ANOVA were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the study it was determined that the gifted students had higher awareness scores related to environmental education concepts, compared to their normally developing peers. In addition, while the environmental education concepts awareness scores of the gifted students did not differ significantly according to gender, age range and class level, there was a significant difference in all variables examined in the normal-development group. "
