ABSTRAKTempat kerja yang nyaman merupakan salah satu faktor penunjang gairah kerja. Lingkungan kerja yang panas dan lembab akan menurunkan produktivitas kerja, juga akan membawa dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja. Suhu panas terutama berakibat menurunkan prestasi kerja berfikir. Penurunan kemampuan berfikir terjadi sesudah suhu udara melampaui suhu 32⁰C. Suhu dilingkungan area furnace sebesar 34,9⁰C, melebihi NAB yang distandarkan sebesar 30,5⁰C. Tujuan dari penelitiaan ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengendalian heat stress pada tenaga kerja dibagian furnace PT.X Pangkalpinang Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam pada 8 informan utama, 5 orang tenaga kerja dibagian produksi dan 3 orang dari manajemen. Analisa data menggunakan metode content analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua informan mengungkapkan suhu dilingkungan kerja area tanur panas sesuai dengan hasil pengukuran suhu dilapangan sebesar 34,9⁰C melebihi ambang batas yang distandarkan, pengendalian heat stress dengan training (pendidikan atau latihan tentang pengendalian heat stress dan mengendalikan resiko tekanan panas) belum rutin dilaksanakan,  pengendalian dengan penggantian cairan  sudah disediakan  oleh perusahaan tetapi aturan dan pola konsumsi belum dilaksanakan, pengendalian dengan aklimatisasi belum dilaksanakan diperusahaan.Kata Kunci: heat stress, pengendalian, pekerja Control of Heat Stress on Labor at Part Furnace PT. X Pangkalpinang Bangka Belitung. Comfortable workplace is one of the factors supporting morale. The work environment is hot and humid will reduce labor productivity, it will also have negative impacts on health and safety. Warmer temperatures result in lower performance primarily thinking. Decreased ability to think happened after the temperature has exceeded 32⁰ C. The temperature within the furnace area of 34.9⁰ C, which exceeds the standardized NAV of 30.5⁰ C. The purpose of this is to research analyze control of heat stress on the workforce section furnace PT.X Pangkalpinang Bangka Belitung. This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews on 8 key informants, 5 labor section of the production and management 3. Analysis of the data using content analysis. The results showed that all informants reveal the temperature within the furnace hot work area in accordance with the results of temperature measurements in the field at 34.9⁰ C exceeds the threshold standardized, control heat stress with training (education or training on heat stress control and controlling the risk of heat stress) is not routinely executed, control with fluid replacement has been provided by the company but the rules and patterns of consumption have not been implemented, control with acclimatization yet implemented in the company . PurposeThe COVID-19 pandemic has brought profound changes to all sectors of society including the construction sector. The main purpose of this study is to explore and provide insights into the impact and changes that have occurred in the construction sector due to COVID-19 and to present a mitigation framework to minimize the effects.Design/methodology/approachThe scope of this study is limited to peer-reviewed articles in Scopus or Web of Science indexed journals. A systemized review was performed with bibliometric and content analyses of articles related to the impact of COVID-19 on the construction sector.FindingsThrough content analysis, the main topics discussed in the selected articles were grouped into 10 categories. Most of these studies were found to have focused on the challenges, impact, and health and safety at construction sites resulting from the pandemic. The study further identified 39 subtopics through detailed content analysis and organizes them into the categories of negative impacts, positive impacts and opportunities and barriers to COVID-19 safety guidelines in the construction sector. Moreover, the study developed a systematic mitigation strategy based on the recommendations of the literature review to reduce the impact of the current pandemic on the construction sector. The mitigation strategy presents separate set of measures regarding safety guidelines, process improvements, government intervention, psychological support and technology adoption.Originality/valueThe research insights provided in this study are useful for practitioners in guiding them to design effective strategies for addressing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and future crises. Furthermore, a systematic presentation of the impacts, challenges and mitigation measures in this study will help researchers to identify existing gaps in the literature and explore other aspects of the impact of the pandemic on the construction sector.

Un buen líder organizacional debe buscar modificar la habilidad y destreza de sus empleados para, de manera efectiva, solucionar los problemas concretos que surgen de situaciones de trabajo que poseen ciertos márgenes de incertidumbre y complejidad técnica, de allí lo fundamental de la motivación. Esta investigación tuvo como propósito interpretar la motivación laboral como estrategia para mejorar el desempeño del personaladministrativo de la Zona Educativa del estado Guárico (Venezuela). Metodológicamente se suscribe al paradigma postpositivista, con un enfoque cualitativo, con una perspectiva interpretativa, bajo el método hermenéutico. Los informantes clave fueron tres trabajadores de esa división. Como técnicas de recolección se emplearon la observación participativa y la entrevista en profundidad; las de interpretación fueron la categorización, la contrastación y la triangulación. Entre los hallazgos más relevantes están la poca motivación de los trabajadores para desarrollar acciones que impulsen el logro de los objetivos emanados desde el ente rector y el ambiente laboral es, generalmente, tenso y conflictivo, lo que genera inseguridad e incomodidad. Palabras clave: dialéctica; motivación; gerencia; competencias laborales administrativas; organización. Abstract A good organizational leader must seek to modify his employees’ skills and abilities, in order to solve, effectively, specific problems in work situations that have certain margins of uncertainty and technical complexity, hence the fundamental motivation. The research’s purpose was to interpret work motivation as a strategy to improve the staff’s performance of the Zona Educativa Guárico administrative personnel division.The methodology was subscribed to the post positivist paradigm, with a qualitative approach, framed in an interpretive perspective, under the hermeneutical method. The study scenario was the Zona Educativa de Guárico State personnel division, for the study execution three workers from that division were taken as key informants. Among the information collection techniques that were used are participatory observationand in-depth interviews. The study interpretation techniques were categorization, contrast and triangulation. Among the most relevant findings is that: in terms of work motivation, there are few incentives on the part of the institution, since they do not carry out any type of motivating actions in order to impulse them to achieve the objectives emanating from the governing principal. Regarding the reflections, we have that the work environment is generally tense and a little conflictive. Some try to do their homework in a cordial way, but they are very few. The migration of Chinese labours to Southeast Asian countries has become a huge issue lately. This study examines whether all Chinese migrants bring negative impacts to other countries. This research argues that Chinese migrants have a compelling part in support of development in the border area, particularly economic development. This research was conducted in Mong Cai, a border city between Vietnam and China. Using qualitative approach as methodology, the data are collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and review of the literature. The result found that Chinese migrants bring advantages in Mong Cai city, including support city development and improve the local economy.

Resumo: Objetivo: descrever as principais memórias e sentimentos de “ex-portadores” de hanseníase residentes em um antigo “leprosário” localizado na região metropolitana do município de Belém, Estado do Pará. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas em profundidade, no período de setembro a outubro de 2016, tendo como amostra de convivência onze (ex) portadores de hanseníase. A análise dos dados foi feita com base na análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Resultados: Emergiram três categorias: do medo à exclusão social: sentimentos diante descoberta da doença; o discurso do medo: isolamento compulsório e segregação familiar; Fantasmas do passado no presente: marcas sociais da doença. Considerações finais: As percepções acerca da doença evidenciam que marcas do passado ainda refletem no cotidiano social. As conotações negativas associadas à doença reforçam o preconceito e o estigma social, geram intensos abalos psíquicos e promovem constantes isolamentos sociais.Descritores: Hanseníase; Abrigo; Percepção; Estigma Social.THE MAIN MEMORIES AND FEELINGS OF EX –LEPROSY LIVING IN AN ANCIENT LEPROSARIUMObjective: Describe the main memories and feelings of ex –leprosy living in an ancient leprosarium located in the metropolitan region of Belém, State of Pará. Methodology: It is a descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, in the period from September to October of 2016, having as sample of coexistence, eleven ex-leprosy. The analysis of the data was made based content analysis of Bardin. Results: three categories emerged: From fear to social exclusion: feelings on the discovery of the disease; The discourse of fear: compulsory isolation and family segregation; Ghosts of the past in the present: social marks of disease. Conclusion: the perceptions about the disease show that marks of the past still reflect in social everyday life. In this study, we applied a qualitative approach in order to examine the beliefs of compulsive buyers and decipher the processes of compulsive buying. Participants were recruited via online postings, were classified as compulsive buyers using a screening questionnaire, and were asked to complete individual in-depth interviews. Content analysis was performed in order to identify participants' concepts and subconcepts regarding compulsive buying. To develop a model of compulsive buying we identified 21 subconcepts, which were synthesized into 6 concepts: deprivation, stimulation, response, compulsive spending, dysfunctional beliefs, and self-regulation. The results indicate that belief systems and self-regulation processes affect compulsive buying behaviors.

Medication error is the most common and consistent type of error occurring in hospitals. This article attempts to explore the ethical issues relating to the nursing management of medication errors in clinical areas in Macau, China. A qualitative approach was adopted. Seven registered nurses who were involved in medication errors were recruited for in-depth interviews. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using content analysis. Regarding the management of patients, the nurses acknowledged the mistakes but did not disclose the incidents to patients and relatives. Concerning management of the nurses involved by senior staff, most participants experienced fairness, comfort and understanding during the process of reporting and investigation. The ethical issues relating to the incidents were discussed, particularly in the Chinese context. There is a need for further study relating to the disclosure of medication incidents to patients and some suggestions were made.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to understand the spirituality and the practice of euphemism experienced by nursing professionals in the hospital scenario. Methods: a descriptive, exploratory research with a qualitative approach, carried out with 18 nursing professionals from a hospital in southern Brazil. Data collection took place from September to October 2018, through recorded audio interviews. The reports were submitted to thematic content analysis and the discussion was based on the theory of transpersonal care. Results: four categories emerged from the speeches: Motivational reflection of spirituality in the work environment; Adherence to the practice of euphemism by nursing professionals; Satisfaction and frustration in the practice of euphemism by nursing professionals and; Spirituality as an increase in human faith. Final Considerations: professionals understand spirituality and the practice of euphemism as a tool that helps in motivating the team to face difficulties at work and increase the faith of hospitalized patients.

The elderly (elderly) is one of the groups that are susceptible to being infected with Corona Virus Diseases 19 (Covid 19). Therefore, the elderly group is a priority group to get the Covid 19 vaccination. This study aims to describe and analyze the scope of the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program for the elderly in the Cijayanti Health Center work area which is still low. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with midwives as the holder of the immunization program as the main informant, the doctor as the head of the vaccinator team, the holder of the elderly program, the Cijayanti, and Bojong Koneng village offices, and 10 elderly people. The achievement of the elderly vaccination at the Cijayanti Health Center was only 10.8% of the total number of elderly people. There are several obstacles in collecting data on elderly who are willing to be vaccinated because of the influence of the environment, both from their immediate family/children and from the surrounding community. Environmental factors, namely family support, community leaders, religious leaders greatly influence the participation of the elderly in covid vaccination 19.

This study examined the effects of a declining economy on the profession of chartered accountants (CAs) in Zimbabwe. The study adopted a qualitative approach using a pragmatic grounded theory design. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five purposively sampled CAs and two key informants drawn from the professional body and an institution that trains CAs. Furthermore, secondary data were drawn from the professional body’s archives and from newspapers. Data from interviews and documents were analyzed through thematic analysis and content analysis, respectively. The study has revealed that the profession of CAs has been changing in response to the declining economy and the changes include losing its status and autonomy, increased competition from other accounting fields and compromised professional standards. It also emerged that professionals themselves engage in both negative and positive activities that enable them to survive the effects of a declining economy. Recommendations are provided for the professionals and the professional body in dealing with the impact of a precarious economy.
