It is widely known that systematically developed training manuals can be used to improve knowledge and practical skills and promote positive attitude of trainees. This research thus aimed to develop a training manual to help reduce the use of pesticides by para rubber farmers in Nonkheng Sub-district, So Phisai District, Bueng Khan Province, Thailand. The research was divided in to 3 stages. The first stage investigated the scenarios in which pesticides were used of the para rubber famers while the second stage dealt with the development of a training manual for promoting the reduction of the use of pesticides and hazardous chemicals by the farmers. The final stage was the evaluation for the efficiency of the developed training manual by applying it with 48 volunteered para rubber famers for 2 days. The findings revealed that the training manual had an efficiency of index at 80.38/80.89. After training with the manual, the farmers’ levels of knowledge increased tal 67.40%, while the overall post-test scores on knowledge, attitude, and practice skills in reducing the use of pesticides were found to be significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those of the pre-test. It can be concluded that the developed training manual can be effectively used to improve the knowledge, attitude, and practical skills of the trainees.

This paper highlights the importance and the role of local communities in the provision of conditions for the existence and development of the recreational sports in our country. It is especially evidenced in the documents of EU institutions which define the role of local communities and local governments, as well as their tasks, which include development of all areas of sports and recreational sports. This paper analyzes and highlights the importance of the document ?European Charter of Sport for All? which established a platform for common European policy in this field of sport and clearly defines the roles of local communities in the field of sport for all (recreational sports). With the elaboration of the basic theoretical and conceptual aspects of content-structured recreation and recreational sport, it points out the current state of the sport in our country. It is still extensively characterized by randomness, disorganization and the lack of quality planned documents of organizations and institutions engaged in recreational sports activities, its low position in the community, as well as many other problems. The role of local communities and local authorities in the development and existence of recreational sports, therefore, becomes increasingly important. Legislation clearly determines obligations of local authorities in providing facilities to meet the needs and interests of citizens in this area.

This book offers a study of the subject matter protected by each of the main intellectual property (IP) regimes. With a focus on European and UK law particularly, it considers the meaning of the terms used to denote the objects to which IP rights attach, such as ‘invention’, ‘authorial work’, ‘trade mark’, and ‘design’, with reference to the practice of legal officials and the nature of those objects specifically. To that end it proceeds in three stages. At the first stage, in Chapter 2, the nature, aims, and values of IP rights and systems are considered. As historically and currently conceived, IP rights are limited (and generally transferable) exclusionary rights that attach to certain intellectual creations, broadly conceived, and that serve a range of instrumentalist and deontological ends. At the second stage, in Chapter 3, a theoretical framework for thinking about IP subject matter is proposed with the assistance of certain devices from philosophy. That framework supports a paradigmatic conception of the objects protected by IP rights as artifact types distinguished by their properties and categorized accordingly. From this framework, four questions are derived concerning: the nature of the (categories of) subject matter denoted by the terms ‘invention’, ‘authorial work’, ‘trade mark’, ‘design’ etc, including their essential properties; the means by which each subject matter is individuated within the relevant IP regime; the relationship between each subject matter and its concrete instances; and the manner in which the existence of a subject matter and its concrete instances is known. That leaves the book’s final stage, in Chapters 3 to 7. Here legal officials’ use of the terms above, and understanding of the objects that they denote, are studied, and the results presented as answers to the four questions identified previously.

The issue of energy behaviour among Polish consumers, and especially the motives and attitudes they manifest, is relatively under-researched. This article attempts to identify individual attitudes and beliefs of energy consumers using the example of the residents of the province of Silesia (Poland). The authors conducted the expert segmentation of respondents in terms of their motivation for saving energy, based on the results of their proprietary survey. The second stage of the study involved using a classification model that allowed for the characterisation of the obtained groups. Psychological and financial factors were of greatest significance, which is confirmed by the results of other studies. Nonetheless, the obtained results explicitly indicate the specificity of the region, which requires transformation towards a low-emission economy. Despite the initial stage of changes both in the awareness of the consumers and the public interventions of the authorities, it should be emphasized that a majority of the respondents—at least to a basic extent—declared taking energy-saving measures. Financial motives are predominant among the respondents, although pro-environmental motives can also be noticed, which might translate into increased involvement and concern for the environment and climate.

The article considers the dependence of the formation of enterprise strategy on the importance of marketing trends. The need to predict possible market trends in order to respond to them in a timely manner has been proven. The stages of the analysis process are considered. At the first stage, a study of the current situation is conducted and trends are identified that are important when planning further activities. The marketing trends that are defined for the enterprise of the brewing industry of Ukraine - the company "Obolon" are described. At the second stage, the significance of marketing trends is assessed according to the criteria "Trend strength" and "Level of consumer environment development". The following indicators are proposed to assess the significance of the criterion "Trend strength": stability over time, awareness, emotionality, usefulness to the consumer. To determine the significance of the criterion "Level of development of the consumer environment" you can use indicators: customer satisfaction, frequency of product purchase, customer loyalty, comfortable conditions of purchase. A questionnaire is compiled, consumers are surveyed and average scores are determined to assess these indicators. The overall score is determined by multiplying the average score by the weighting factor of the indicator. At the next stage, the position of each trend in the field of the matrix "Trend strength - The level of development of the consumer environment" is determined. The matrix consists of 9 quadrants. The quadrants are grouped into three zones. Zone 1 includes the following quadrants: Independent dependent, Domesticated elephants, Situational dolphins. Trends that fall into this area must be taken into account when forming the company's strategy. Zone 2 has the following quadrants: Geeks, Arabian horses, Dependent amateurs. The trends that fall into it are of medium importance. Therefore, they should be analyzed to determine the appropriateness of their strength. The third zone contains the quadrants Floating Giraffes, Free Crows, Wandering. Trends that fall into this area do not have much impact on the company's activities. Therefore, they can be neglected in shaping the strategy of the enterprise.

Four preprocessing and three drying procedures for the dehydration of pork were studied. The best product resulted from cooking in an open steam-jacketed kettle, followed by mincing and tunnel–tray drying in four hours or less with a tray load of 2 lb. per square foot. Little difference in quality of the product was observed for air velocities of 700 to 1200 ft. per min. over the trays, or for initial stage temperatures between 70° and 80 °C. and final stage temperatures between 55° and 70 °C.Pork, when dried to a moisture content of 3 to 4% in less than four hours, still retained a high percentage of the thiamin present in the raw meat, showed no fat deterioration when assessed by peroxide oxygen determinations, and on reconstitution had a palatability rating approximately equal to that of the initial cooked material.
