Indonesia that continued to change over time will no doubt affect the aspects of life. Aspect that could provide sustenance was the need of transportation through the construction of the Makassar - Parepare railway line. The goal was to know the social changes and adaptation patterns of children when social changes occurred as a result of the construction of the Makassar-Parepare railway. This study used qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The informants of the study were; 1) PPK Railway Development of South Sulawesi, 2) Affected communities, 3) Head of BPD in Ajakkang village, and 4) Head of Polewali environment. The data collection technique of this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The results is construction of the Makassar - Parepare railway led a social change that could be seen based on the process and time. The planned social change occurred because the government is the agent of change in the development. The unplanned social change occurred because of the flooding. The form of social change based on the time of revolution in development has led to conflict due to different interests. The adaptation of children to social changes in society tends to conformity adaptation rather than other forms of adaptation.

Article focused on the changes of father’s role within modern society due to social changes that was called ikumen. Ikumen is a social change that happens in the father’s role and identity in Japan in which now is appears a type of father who enjoys caring for children while working. Ikumen itself was made by media, and then it was supported by the government. The purpose of this research was to analyse the changes of father’s role and identity in Japan using Social Change theory by Anthony Giddens. This research applied qualitative method and by interviewing six ikumen who were members of NPO (Non Profit Organization) Fathering Japan. The research finds out that right now there have been many fathers who have desire to put family first. It is proven by the amount of fathers who have taken paternal leave in Japan.

This study aims to determine the social changes in Subak Susuan Karangasem Bali as a result of the implementation of green revolution (revolusi hijau). The method used observation, in-depth interviews equipped with interview guides, recording devices, cameras and stationery. Sampling is done by purposive or direct appointment to a person who is considered to know and be directly involved in the event.The results show that the green revolution has digraded various types of local rice seeds and simultaneously marginalizes local wisdom resulting in social change. Agricultural homogeneity, which in turn has diminished farming culture, professional social organization such as sekaa numbeg, sekaa manyi, sekaa metekap began to decrease and patron client bond is getting worse. The government is advised to pay attention to the values ??of local wisdom that guides the life of farming in Subak Susuan.

This research is titled The Role of Kyai as Informal Leader in Social Change in Pematang Village Community, Kragilan District, Serang Regency which is based on the social changes in the village community amid the community that is indeed associated with the existence of an informal leader. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role played by the kyai figure as an informal leader can play a role in the social change of the village community. The research method used is descriptive analysis research with a qualitative approach, the data source in this study can be processed by extracting information/information directly from information sources that are considered to be related to this research. The results of this study can find out how the role played by Kyai as an informal leader in social change in rural communities which certainly can be proven from the results of research achievements. The conclusion of this study is the figure of Kyai as an informal leader who is in the middle

Tema perubahan sosial yang ada di dalam sebuah novel sudah banyak dikaji dari berbagai perspektif karena kebermanfaatannya dalam mengetahui sejauh mana perubahan sosial di masyarakat itu terjadi. Akan tetapi, penelitian-penelitian itu hanya memaparkan bentuk-bentuk perubahan sosial dan faktor­‐faktor penyebabnya yang ada di dalam novel. Oleh karena itu, selain untuk mengungkap bentuk­‐bentuk dan faktor­‐faktor penyebab perubahan sosial, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali arah perubahan sosial dan upaya menangkal perubahan yang bersifat negatif di dalam novel Aku Mencintaimu Shanyuan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis dengan didukung oleh pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di dalam novel Aku Mencintaimu Shanyuan ini terjadi perubahan sosial di masyarakat Desa Resak, Kabupaten Kutai Barat yang diakibatkan oleh interaksi sosial dengan kebudayaan lain. Akan tetapi, perubahan sosial yang disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal itu masih dalam taraf perubahan pada bagian-bagian sistem, sedangkan sistem masih tetap utuh. Oleh karena itu, arah negatif dari perubahan sosial dapat diatasi dengan melestarikan kearifan lokal dan memperdalam agama yang tampak pada tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Aku Mencintaimu Shanyuan. Abstract: The social change theme in a novel has been analyzed from many perspectives for its advantages in understanding how far social change in the society happens. However, those researchers only explain the social change forms and the causal factors. Therefore, in addition to explaining the social change forms and their underlying factors, this research also aims to describe the social change direction and efforts in preventing negative social change in the novel Aku Mencintaimu Shanyuan. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis supported by sociology theory. The result shows that, in the novel, social change occurs among the society of Resak village, West Kutai Regency. The change is the consequence of social interaction with other cultures. However, the social changes caused by external factors are still parts of the system; the system itself is still intact. Therefore, negative social changes can be managed by conserving local genius and deepening the religion shown from the characters in the novel Aku Mencintaimu Shanyuan. Known as sea tribe, Bajo tribe is foreigners in Karimunjawa. As a sea tribe, they are nomadic and live on the boat before settling in Karimunjawa. The encouragement to settle in Karimunjawa is due to the fact that the island has a lot of fish and they exploit it to make their living. At the beginning, they live on the boat, but sometimes they move to the land. Later on, they build houses on stilts at coastal areas.The process experienced by Bajo tribe from sea to land tribe is caused by some factors, from the effort to adapt with local people, decreasing number of the captured fish, the government program to make Bajo tribe becomes the land settlers and the change of their livelihood.This research is aimed to study social change occurring to Bajo tribe as a sea tribe that was formerly nomadic into land tribe dwelling in Karimunjawa. Moreover, this research also intended to study the push factors and the impact from the social change toward the life of the settled Bajo society. In line with the problem and the objectives of this research, the qualitative method with the anthropological and sociological approach was used. These two approaches were applied in order to give a better understanding of the social change of Bajo tribe that had already settled in Karimunjawa.The result of the research shows that there is a social change in Bajo society living permanently in Karimunjawa that is, the change of daily behavior in the society, social interaction with other tribes, values held by the society and social institution, structure and social classes. Social change occurring to Bajo society in Karimunjawa brings positive influences. The social changes among others are awareness towards the importance of education, Bajo society has new jobs other than fisherman, the increase of income, living standard, also modernization in fisheries system. The negative impact as a consequence of the social changes is faded culture, changes in life orientation and views of life, and consumerism in the society.

This paper explains  the social changes of Aceh Jaya society after the earthquake and tsunami 2004.This paper focuses on three things: changes in religious, social and cultural life as well as see the efforts of Aceh Jaya government in responding to the changes. The purpose of this research is to disclose the changes that occurred after the earthquake and tsunami which become the evaluation material for the policy maker and the planner of the community development program. The theory used in this research is the theory of social change. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Research findings indicate that there has been a change in the religious, social and cultural life of the Aceh Jaya community as a result of community development programs. Some of its development programs have an impact on people's non-self-reliance and some have been infiltrated by aqidah silting efforts which will then affect the religious life of the Aceh Jaya people. Changes in society also occur due to contact or interaction with different cultures that lasted for long periods of time. The Government of Aceh Jaya has made efforts to restore society to the expected conditions in accordance with the values prevailing in the Aceh Jaya society.Key Words: Community Development, Social Change

This study discusses the ethnic conflict in the Rwandan genocide in the novel Led by Faith: Rising from The Ashes of Rwandan Genocide written by Immaculée Ilibagiza. The novel is set in Rwanda, the country that was known as the place of the fastest killing in the world history, within 100 days killed more than 800.000 people. This novel is based on the author’s experience in surviving from the Rwandan genocide. Therefore, it is interesting to discuss how the author represented the genocide in the novel. This study applied conflict theory by Dahrendorf which focus on four aspect: Two aspects of society (conflict and consensus), power and authority, the groups involved in the conflict, and conflict and social change. The data are taken from the novel Led by Faith by using descriptive analysis techniques. The study reveals that the conflict between Hutu and Tutsi ethnics was represented as the power dynamics among the authorities. The conflict influenced the social change and social structure of the Rwandan society.

The social changes that occur in a society, directly or indirectly, affect institutions in various fields, such as government, economics, education, religion and so on. When the law is faced with social change, it occupies one of its functions, which can function as a means of social control, and the law can serve as a means of social change. the characteristics of the law above is due to the inconsistency of social dynamics and the dynamics of law in the life of society. Unequaled dynamics of society and law, usually will bring social lag. From here, then comes a question whether Islamic law as a norm of God's determination can experience changes in accordance with the needs of the community? Ijtihad is an important factor for the development and development of Islamic law.Ijtihad done to answer the problems that arise in society that is not yet known legal status.ijtihad has a wide scope, the issues are not regulated explicitly dala m al-Qur'an and sunna can be done ijtihad. In order for humans to have breadth in determining its activities according to its ability, needs and environment. Therefore ijtihad in the field of Islamic law in anticipating the dynamics of society and social changes concerning the values, behavior patterns, and social system of a society is a concern in establishing Islamic law. The Phenomenon of Bia Music in Batu village community needs to be closely examined considering that the Bia Music in the past to the present time is shifting and changing, due to lack of awareness, people's behavior towards Mia Music. The music of this tradition is very apprehensive to see the reality of the players from year to year diminishing in quantity and quality. The purpose of this research is to analyze: (1) Function of Bia Music, (2) Social reality that happened in society. This research uses qualitative method with data collection technique of interview, observation and document study. The technique of data validity is based on the credibility criteria, using triangulation of data. Data analysis techniques used are data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the Functions of Bia Music, among others, as a medium of ritual, communication media, into evangelism media, events of cultural festivals, education, association, entertainment and publicity. There are three moments of dialectics in the social realities of externalization, objectivity, and internalization.

Basisombow is a literature that develops in the North Kampar of Kampar District. In antiquity Basisombow was used for traditional event, wedding, and circumcision event. The research aims to describe and analyze the social change of Basisombow in the community of Kampar Riau Regency. This study used qualitative research, with a sociological approach. Observation technology, interviews and documentation are used as instruments of the research in collecting the data. The data analysis procedures used data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The validity of the data in this study used Triangulation source that was performed for the inspection process by examining data from multiple sources. The results of the study that Basisombow experienced social change as follows: 1). Changes on Kampar community structure; 2). new findings and other cultural contacts; 3). Differences of opinion amongst generations. In particular, the findings in social change are influenced by 2 (two) factors such as; external and internal factors which are related to the social environment of the Kampar community.
