Women in the journey of human life have an important role, namely; give birth, nurture and educate their children. Mental education for women began to be developed, one of them through literary novels. The Novel Jemini by Suparto Brata presents the femininity of Javanese women from an objective point of view. Another interesting part of the novel is the strong characterization of Javanese women. This is emphasized by the use of various styles of language and diction which aim to uncover the struggle for life of Javanese women leaders. The objectives of this study are (1) Describe the characterization of Javanese women in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata; (2) Uncovering the struggle for life of Javanese female characters in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata; (3) Describing the lliterary style of Javanese female characters in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata. This literary research uses the approach of feminism which is sulking in the Javanese feminism model. The data used in the form of fragments of text in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata contained the characterization of Javanese women. Source of text data in the novel as a whole. The study’s method is semiotic structuralism with hermeneutic techniques. The results of this study indicate the feminism of Javanese women in the characterization of the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata. The lliterary style of the female characters in the novel consists of; words, sentences, phrases, figurative languages ​​show the existence of feminism in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata. The character of Javanese women in the novel is clever, broad-minded, always curious, shy, agile, nimble, diligent in working, strong-minded, patient and accepting, sympathetic, respectful towards parents, and adults.This research raises awareness for the public about the role of women.

The study of Maïssa Bey’s novel Surtout ne te retourne pas allows to examine how the Francophone novel represents an earthquake as a poetic, metaphorical and political shockwave. The novel is part of a literary tradition but also shows the singularity of the writing and the engagement of the Algerian novelist Maïssa Bey. It allows to examine the feminine agentivity in the context of the disaster camps in Algeria: from the ravaged space/country emerge the voices of women who enter into resistance to improvise, invent their lives and their identities. The earthquake allows them to free themselves, to take a subversive point of view at society and their status as women in an oppressive patriarchal society. The staged female characters arrogate to themselves the right to reread history and take their destiny back.

Frances Burney’s novel Evelina follows a young woman through a series of mortifying social interactions, all of which point to a layered concept of women’s agency and the popular perceptions of autonomy during the eighteenth century. Women’s agency in Evelina can be classified as physical agency, emotional agency, or elite agency. Each form of agency is then characterized by the female characters of the lower, middle, or upper classes within the novel. Burney’s uncouth characterization of the lower classes corresponds with physical agency, or the physical ability to create agency outside of social expectations, while elite agency allows upper-class and aristocratic women to act as they wish without public censure. Middle-class Evelina’s emotional agency, accessible to readers through the epistolary format of the novel, relies on her understanding of propriety, sensibilities, and interpersonal connections as a means of navigating social situations and class mobility. Burney’s tiered construction of women’s agency reinforces the importance of sensibility and emotional honesty across highly gendered class lines.

Literature of a cultural product always interacts with social problems, including issues of locality and local identity. The problem of local identity in the novel Penangsang: Tembang Rindu Dendam is the main concern in this study. The background of the local locality and identity of Cepu which became the center of the Duchy of Jipang in the past was the setting of a place, as well as a space where the final historical and cultural journey of the power of the Demak Sultanate took place. This novel was written in 2010 by Nassirun Purwokartun. This historical novel invites us to rethink Cepu's locality and local identity, which has been a legacy of past generations. Articulation of identity and locality issues seem to be the attention voiced in this novel as well as being an instrument or instrument of articulation. This study uses the New Historicism approach, one literary theory that views history, art, and other things in society has the same degree as the text data in literature. It is hoped that literary research will get the context of the problem in accordance with the situation of the community.

This research aims to describe: (1) intrinsic elements; (2) local wisdom contained in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy; (3) the plan to implement the learning of Bening Edged Bening novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy in class XII of SMA. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results of this study concluded that (1) the intrinsic elements of the Bidadari Bering Bening novel, namely (a) themes: the major themes of the story of a woman's struggle in sustaining life, minor themes include, matchmaking, self-esteem, romance; (b) figures and characterizations: the main characters, namely Ayna and Gus Afif. Ayna is intelligent, assertive, patient and loyal, Gus Afif is intelligent, shy, responsible, humble, and independent; (c) flow: forward, (d) setting: setting, including Kanzul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Lombok and Bait Ibni Sabil; time settings include morning, afternoon, evening and night; socio-cultural background including Javanese socio-cultural background); (e) point of view: the point of view of the all-knowing third person; (f) mandate: never put down others, never give up, and always be patient in the face of life's trials; (2) Local wisdoms in the Bidadari Bering Bening novel include (a) languages: Javanese, (b) knowledge systems: natural surroundings, natural flora, natural flora, and the characteristics and behavior of humans, (c) social organizations: systems kinship, (d) equipment of human life: food and shelter and housing, (e) livelihood system: merchants, (f) religious system: religious rituals and teachers / religious leaders, (g) arts: shadow puppets; (3) The plan for implementing novel text learning in class XII SMA based on the 2013 curriculum is contained in the basic competence 3.9 analyzing the contents of the novel and the language of the novel. The method used is a scientific-based Inquiry Learning method. Keywords: Clear-eyed Angels, intrinsic elements, local wisdom.

Literary work tries to describe human life, not only in relation to other humans, but also in relation to itself through the relationship of inner events. One form of literary work is novel. The birth of the novel is the creative result of the author in processing a story about life complete with various conflicts in it. Because this research is intended as a study of literary psychology to achieve the psychological aspects of the main character in the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis, what will be put forward is the structure of the story which is closely related to the psychological exposure of the main character. The story structure is the characters and characterizations. As well as the story setting. Qualitative method. Namely, research procedures that produce qualitative descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. How as much data as possible will be able to become the subject of research depends on the use of research techniques. While the approach is a literary assessment perspective. The approach is the scope of literary research. The form, content, and nature of literature as the subject of study. Until now, it seems that in literary research there is often confusion between the use of the terms method, technique and approach. As a result, there are overlapping areas of literary research. The method should involve the operational means of research. The method requires research steps that are worth following. The research results found by the researcher were in the form of the character of the main character and psychological conflicts in Khilma Anis' novel Hati Suhita. Suhita's character is good, tawadhu, smart. Al Birruni is firm, easy to change. Rengganis beautiful, smart. Aruna is good, cheerful. Kang Dharma is calm, mature. And the psychological conflict of Suhita's character is sad. Al Birruni didn't have the heart, Rengganis knew himself, Aruna was sad, and Kang Dharma was calm. In connection with conducting the research, the writer suggests that: first, literary reviewers are advised to examine more deeply the implicit and explicit values in Khilma Anis' novel Hati Suhita, because then we as readers can understand the author's message and his work in totality.

The issue of the women’s role in the public sphere has been widely carried out in literary research. However, research on women's participation specifically on economic issues by looking at its theoretical and empirical aspects is still something that is very rarely carried out in literary research. The purpose of this study is to explore in more detail about women's participation in the economy. By using the lens of women's thinking and their participation in the economic field in the concept of women economic participation from Jacqui True, this research focuses on this issue. The method used is analyzing the content of the story that has been done by collecting data by collecting words, sentences, paragraphs related to women's participation in the economy. Furthermore, the data that have been found are analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. The descriptive method of analysis was carried out in several stages. The first stage is data collection which is done by collecting the aspects of women's participation in the economy in general in the data table. From the data table, it is classified according to the economic participation patterns found. The next stage is data analysis by dialogue data from the novel with the theory of women's participation in the economy. The results of this study indicate that women are able to get out of the crisis with their own efforts and hard work. Women also have an important role in the economic sector because they are able to create their own business opportunities so that they can improve their life.

The purpose of this research is to describe women's gender insight from a family perspective through the characterization structure in Fira Basuki's novel Atap. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, solving problems in a study by describing or interpreting objects in the form of social phenomena or events that are revealed through expressions. Through this research, researchers can describe data from the object of research related to aspects of women's gender insight from a family perspective through the characterization structure in Fira Basuki's novel Atap. These aspects consist of aspects of socio-cultural change through the family and aspects of violence in the family from a feminist point of view. The source of data in this reseaech is the novel Atap by Fira Basuki. The data in this research were obtained from words, sentences, or expressions contained in the novel which refer to aspects of socio-cultural change through the family and aspects of family violence from a feminist point of view. The results showed that in socio-cultural changes through the family, it was found that there was still a gender bias towards justice that was obtained by women. Gender bias is also found in the female characters Kunti, Jane and Mak Umah as a result of violence in the family from a feminist point of view. Based on the problems that arise in socio-cultural relations through the family, it should be addressed wisely and directed in the form of protection. For example, legal protection is made and the public understands the existing forms of legal protection.

Resumo: Este artigo aborda como é atualizado, no Grande sertão: veredas, um motivo fundamental para a tragédia Rei Lear: a escolha amorosa envolvendo três mulheres relacionadas ao ouro, à prata e ao chumbo. A simbologia subjacente aos metais é determinante para a caracterização das personagens femininas tanto do romance quanto da tragédia, analisadas, aqui, em perspectiva comparativa. Em Rei Lear, os metais preciosos, o ouro e a prata, estão associados a Goneril e Reagan, as filhas más que herdam o reino, enquanto Cordélia, a filha bondosa e preferida do rei, é representada pelo chumbo e acaba deserdada. Em Grande sertão: veredas, o ouro e a prata figuram na caracterização de Nhorinhá, a prostituta por quem Riobaldo se apaixona, e Otacília, sua esposa, enquanto Diadorim, o verdadeiro amor, está relacionado ao chumbo e permanece sublimado. Assim, os metais preciosos simbolizam, em ambas as obras, o equívoco amoroso, enquanto o chumbo guarda a mulher certa – Cordélia na tragédia, e Diadorim no romance. Diadorim e Cordélia possuem, ainda, outras analogias: ambas são filhas de grandes líderes, dedicam fidelidade irrestrita ao pai, possuem ligação com o arquétipo da donzela-guerreira e suas mortes representam momentos de anagnórisis para Riobaldo e Lear.Palavras-chave: literatura comparada; Grande sertão: veredas; João Guimarães Rosa; Rei Lear; William Shakespeare.Abstract: This article discusses how it is updated, in Grande sertão: veredas, a fundamental theme for the tragedy King Lear: the love choice involving three women related to gold, silver and lead. The symbology related to the metals is decisive for the characterization of the female characters of both the novel and the tragedy, analyzed here, in a comparative perspective. In King Lear, the precious metals, gold and silver, are associated with Goneril and Reagan, the evil daughters who inherit the kingdom, while Cordelia, Lear’s kind and preferred daughter, is represented by lead and ends up disinherited. In Grande sertão: veredas, gold and silver emerge in the characterization of Nhorinhá, the prostitute with whom Riobaldo falls in love, and Otacília, his wife, while Diadorim, the true love, is related to lead, and remains sublimated. Thus, the precious metals, in both works, symbolize the loving mistake, while the lead keeps the right woman – Cordelia, in the tragedy, and Diadorim in the novel. Diadorim and Cordélia also have other analogies: both are daughters of great leaders, dedicate unrestricted fidelity to their father, have a connection with the warrior-maiden archetype, and their deaths represent moments of anagnorisis for Riobaldo and Lear.Keywords: comparative literature; Grande sertão: veredas; João Guimarães Rosa; King Lear; William Shakespeare.

This study analysed the problems caused by the patriarchal culture and the Javanese women’s effort to get their existence in society. The novel Para Priyayi by Umar Kayam was one of the literary works that was thick with Javanese culture. This study used the theory of existentialist feminism Simone de Beauvoir (De Beauvoir, 1949). The result of this research was the Javanese female characters in the novel Para Priyayi by Umar Kayam experienced injustice due to the patriarchal culture. However, Javanese women leaders made efforts, so they could bring out their existence in the private and public. The existence raised by Javanese female figures in the form of women can become someone who can become an intellectual woman.

The main objective of this chapter is to define a set of strategic lines, from the public policy point of view, so that Portuguese suppliers of the auto industry can deploy a strategic alignment throughout the supply chain in order to position themselves as potential suppliers of the global sourcing strategy of their Iberian Peninsula clients. The characterization of the auto industry in Portugal and Spain is undertaken, framing the perspective of this industry and proposing the strategic guidelines for the Portuguese auto components industry to supply the Iberian market. The study supports a synergistic strategy between the Portuguese auto components industry and the Spanish automotive industry in order to increase the Portuguese incorporation in downstream activities of the supply chain. Portuguese auto components suppliers should adopt international relational strategies throughout the value chain in order to source their Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) clients and to reinforce their position as global suppliers. The strategy involves the consolidation of the Portuguese automotive cluster as global suppliers through specialization.
