The researcher conducted a quasi experimental study to evaluate the effect of egg albumin dressing on peristomal wound healing in a selected hospital, Kolkata, with the objectives to assess the peristomal skin condition of colostomy patients before treatment, to evaluate the effect of egg albumin dressing on healing of peristomal area and reduction of pain, to find out the association between the peristomal wound healing and selected variables. The final study was conducted at Curzon ward, Victoria ward of SSKM hospital, Kolkata. Ethical permission was sought out from Ethical Committee of SSKM hospital, Kolkata. Informed consent was taken from all respondents. The sample was selected according to their selected criteria. The sample selection was done by purposive sampling. They were randomly assigned into two groups (experimental and control group) in 1:1 ratio. The study concluded with its limitations, implications and recommendations for conducting a study may be conducted for a longer duration of observation with the treatment.

Growing learning motivation and science processing skill are very difficult because of limited learning time at school which result in the application of learning motivation and science processing skill less than optimal. Through application creativity learning model, it is expected to be able to achieve the objectives of this research which is to analyze creativity learning model toward learning motivation and science processing skill. This research classified into quasi-experimental and the design was non-equivalent post-test only control group. All fourth-grade students belonged to the  population, contained 8 classes with 184 students. Technique for sample selection was random sampling and got experimental class with 31 students and control class with 30 students. Research instrument consist of questionnaire and essay test. Manova test was used to analyze the data and continue with LSD test. From the reseach, the result showed the significant effect toward learning motivation and science processing skill that proven by significance score 0.000 that means less than 0.05 then Ho is rejected and based on LSD test, ∆µ was less than LSD.. The findings portrayed learning motivation and science processing skill positively influenced by creativity learning model. Creativity learning model is suitable for dealing with low learning motivation and science processing skills and would be problem solving about learning especially in the use of learning model.

The objective of this study is to measure whether there is or not significant effect of teaching reading by utilizing Hot Potatoes software toward students’ reading comprehension of descriptive text. The variables used were the teaching treatment of Hot Potatoes Software as the independent variable and the students’ reading comprehension of Descriptive Text as dependent variable. Then, the research designed was Quasi-experimental design and the presentation of data used was quantitative. The data were obtained from the eleventh grade, of which 28 students were taken as sample. The students are divided into two groups; experiment group consisted of 12 students and control group consists of 16 students. To get the data, the pre-test and post-test were applied and then analyzed using t-test formula. The researcher had concluded that there is Significant effect of Hot Potatoes Software toward the students’ reading comprehension achievement. The result showed that mean of students’ post-test was increased. It is proved by the t-test (8.54) which is higher than t-table (2.05) at level of significance 5%. It means that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and it proved that Hot Potatoes Software had significant effect toward students’ reading comprehension of Descriptive Text

In the last few decades, the incidence of caesarean section is increasing in the world, especially in Indonesia. One of the way to treat tissue scar is through biologic and synthetic dressing where nowadays, amnion has been used as biologic dressing frequently. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the use of fresh amniotic membrane on wound incision Caesarean section compared with Caesarean section incision wound covered using regular gauze bandages and fixated with plaster in RS. Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang. The design of this study is an experimen-tal study with Post test design with control group design. Sampling was done using a formula consecutive sampling two different test samples obtained an average of 72 people for each group. The analysis used include univariate and bivariate analyzes. The average wound healing time the difference was statistically significant (p value <0.05) in the treatment and control groups. There was highly significant difference in the proportion of local infection on day 3 between the treatment and control groups (p value <0.05). There were very significant differences in the proportion of local allergic reactions at day 3, and 5 between the treatment and control group (p <0.05). There are significant differences in terms of the cost of care per day between treatment and control groups (p <0.05). The problem of this study is “Does Concept Oriented Reading Instruction (CORI) enhance students’ reading achievement?” The design of this study was quasi-experimental. The sample of this study was taken from the population by using purposive sampling. The experimental group consisted of 39 students while the control group consisted of 35 students. The data were collected by using two instruments; test and questionnaire. The test was given twice to each group in order to see whether or not there was significance difference of pretest and posttest either in experimental or control group and whether or not there was significance difference of experimental and control group in terms of their posttest score. To prove the hypothesis, the data from pretest and posttest of experimental and control group were analyzed by applying paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The calculation was run by using SPSS computer program. The result of the study shows there was significance difference of students’ reading achievement between experimental and control group. Besides, the use of CORI as reading strategies was proved as effective reading strategies to enhance students’ reading achievement. Teaching materials by integrating local culture makes easier for students to understand the subject matter in the learning process. The aims of the study is to measure the effectiveness of teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai in improving the students problem solving abilities. The research method was a quasi experimental which use non equivalent control group in the pretest posttest design. The sample of study were students of Senior High School grade X in Binjai that consisted of experiment group which used teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai and control group that used student handbooks. Teaching materials are tested by material experts and technology experts to ensure the quality of teaching materials. Data collection was conducted through test. The results showed that the teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai effective in improving students problem solving abilities in the experimental group students based on the results of N gain value was 0.67 which has medium criteria. It means teaching materials based on agricultural local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning activities.

The objective of this study is to find out the effect of using mobile access (Audio Visual Easy Learn English) on students’ vocabulary achievement at SMPN 11 Kendari. Mobile  Access  (Audio  visual  easy  learn  English)  as  a media in learning teaching process. This research used quasi experimental design, the population is all seventh- grade students, and the sample is class VII1 as the experimental group and VII2as control group. The experimental group consisted of 30 students and control group consisted of 21 students. The research instrument consisted of 44 questions of vocabulary test. To collect the data, the researcher gave pre-test, taught by using Mobile Access  (Audio  Visual  Easy  Learn  English),  and  giving post-test. Mean score of post-tests (79.63) in experimental class is higher than pre-test score (59.66). While, in control class also has improvement but not too significant. It can be seen on post-test score (64.80) is higher than pre-test score (55.19). Based on the calculation of T-test, it shows that tcount = 3.775, while t-table =2.010 at level of = 0.05 with DF = 49. It means that tcount is higher than table, Therefore H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This can be concluded that  there  was a  significant  effect  of  using a significant effect using Mobile Access (Audio Visual Easy Learn English) on students’ vocabulary achievement at the seventh-grade students of SMPN 11 Kendari. Keywords: MA, Mobile Access, Audio Visual Easy Learn English, vocabulary achievement

Abstract Background The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has had a massive impact on individuals globally. The Chinese government has formulated effective response measures, and medical personnel have been actively responding to challenges associated with the epidemic prevention and control strategies. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the implementation of a care transition pathway on patients that underwent joint replacement during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods A quasi-experimental study was designed to evaluate the effect of implementing a care transition pathway for patients who underwent joint replacement during the COVID-19 pandemic in the orthopedic department of a tertiary care hospital in Beijing, China. Using a convenient sampling method, a total of 96 patients were selected. Of these, 51 patients who had undergone joint replacement in 2019 and received treatment via the routine nursing path were included in the control group. The remaining 45 patients who underwent joint replacement during the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020 and received therapy via the care transition pathway due to the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures were included in the observation group. The quality of care transition was assessed by the Care Transition Measure (CTM), and patients were followed up 1 week after discharge. Results The observation group was determined to have better general self-care preparation, written planning materials, doctor-patient communication, health monitoring, and quality of care transition than the control group. Conclusions A care transition pathway was developed to provide patients with care while transitioning through periods of treatment. It improved the patient perceptions of nursing quality. The COVID-19 pandemic is a huge challenge for health professionals, but we have the ability to improve features of workflows to provide the best possible patient care.

BackgroundWhilst there is evidence to suggest paramedics experience significant stress when working in the ambulance setting little is known about the experiences of first year paramedic students. This research aimed to: (i) identify whether levels of stress, anxiety and depression experienced by first year paramedic students changed after ambulance placement compared to a control group, and (ii) identify the main perceived and actual sources of stress around ambulance placement.MethodsA before-and-after quasi-experimental design was used to compare whether the experience of ambulance placement altered the levels of stress, anxiety and depression in an experimental group that attended an ambulance placement (n = 20) and the control group who did not (n = 10). Online surveys encompassing the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and qualitative questions about sources of stress were concurrently deployed to both the experimental and control groups before and after the ambulance placement. Participants were first year paramedic students working in Queensland Ambulance Service, Australia.ResultsThere was a significant reduction in levels of stress in participants after undertaking their first ambulance placement (Mdn = -4.00) when compared to a control group (Mdn = 0.00), U = 52.5, p = .035, n2 = 0.15. Responses to survey questions suggest anticipation about experiencing death and dying of patients was the most frequently reported stressor of student paramedics before undertaking ambulance placements, however insecurity about knowledge, competence and fear of failure was the most frequently experienced stressor reported after completing ambulance placements.ConclusionsThe findings from this study suggest that the fear of the unknown may be worse than the reality. Anticipatory stress is the foremost problem for first year paramedic students attending their first ambulance placement. Placement pre-briefing should focus on educational interventions to build knowledge and skills competency to reduce stress levels and fear of failure.

<p>The aim of the present research was study of the impact of music therapy on problem-solving skills of 4 to 6 years old children in Tehran. This research was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest control group. The statistical population was all 4 to 6 years old children in region 2 of Tehran. Using the random sampling method, the study sample was chosen in two experiment (15 individuals) and control (15 individuals) groups.   The experiment group received 12 sessions of music therapy and the control group was waiting for treatment meanwhile. To evaluate the problem-solving skill in children, the three subscales of Wechsler’s Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) were used, including: mazes, cubes and arithmetic.  Analysis of data obtained from the questionnaires was conducted in two parts of descriptive and inferential. The data analysis indicated the significant increase of problem-solving average score of the experiment group compared to the control group.</p>

The study aimed to determine 1) the effect of digital eco learning in student worksheet flipbooks on environmental literacy projects, and 2) the effect of digital eco learning in student worksheet flipbooks on student ecological competence. The research is a quasi-experimental study using a Pretest-Posttest Non-equivalent Control Group. The research subjects were students in the Environmental Geography course semester 6 of 2020, divided into the experimental and control groups. The research was conducted at the Geography Education study program, Social Science Faculty, State University of Malang, Indonesia. Data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test in SPSS version 23 for windows. The results found: 1) there is a significant effect of digital eco learning with student worksheet flipbook on environmental project literacy competence, and 2) there is a significant effect of digital eco learning with student worksheet flipbooks on ecological competence.
