The objective of this research is to know the learning process to increase elementary student outcomes in social science study through the cooperative learning and whether there was an increase after the action. About 20 students of School Laboratories, State University of Gorontalo were the subject of research. The research used action research method with data collecting technique including field notes, interview, documentation and observation. The result of the research describes that the cooperative learning in social science study gives impact for increasing social science learning of elementary school proved by increasing of score test average by 85% and the result in observation showed by 80% from the total number of student.

The problem on this research was that the low score of students’ learning on social science study. There werestill a lot of students that did not understand basic concepts and tended to memorize examples. It was showed by58,07% from 31 students achieving minimum criteria completeness (KKM) from students’ test score in IVCclass of SDN 108 Pekanbaru for Koperasi subject. The students’ average score was 62,4, and the KKM stated byschool was 68. Based on this problem it was needed to do an action research using cooperative learning modelsTeams Games Tournaments (TGT) type. This research aims to know whether the implementation of cooperativelearning models Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) type can improve students’ social science learningoutcomes at IVC class of SDN 108 Pekanbaru in 2013/2014 with 31students. This research was done in twocycles. First cycle consists of three meetings with one daily test and first tournament, and cycle II consists ofthree meetings with one daily test and second tournament. Instruments to collect data in this research areteacher’s observation sheets, students’ observation sheet, and tests. By implementing using cooperative learningmodels Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) type can improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes.Percentage of completeness in basic score was 54,8% (62,40 in average), and it changed into 77,4% (75,6 inaverage) in cycle I and 87,1% (81,1 in average) in cycle II. Percentage of teacher’ activity in cycle I was 81,9%and 92,3% in cycle II. Then percentage of students’ activity in cycle I was 75,4% and 92,2% in cycle II. Fromthose data it proves that the implementation of cooperative learning models Teams Games Tournaments (TGT)type can improve students’ learning outcomes at IVC class of SDN 108 Pekanbaru.Key Words : cooperative teaching and learning model, Teams Games Tournaments (TGT),learning outcomes

Questionnaire Survey is one of the most popular methods in Social Science study, the process of which consists of three phases: data collection, analysis and representation. At present, the practical operations of the three phases are still backward, and the methods used in data analysis and statistic are still simple. This paper designed a Survey Analysis System based on data visualization, which can not only realize survey on the internet, but also brought data visualization into the phases of data analysis and representation, so as to help users to obtain and operate data visually and handily.

The purpose of this research is to produce the learning materials for Social Science Study at the fifthgrade of elementary school students. The materials were focused on the theme of the Indonesian struggle againstDutch and Japanese colonialism. The learning materials were produced by applying the research and developmentmodel adopted by Atwi Suparman. This research, conducted as from October 2015 through 2016, involved 43students of the fifth grade, in the State Primary School of Jati 03 Pag,i East Jakarta. For product evaluation, thisresearch used expert review before trying out to-one-to-one, small group, and field test. The try out indicates, thelearning materials developed for Social Science Study based on constructivism meets the criteria of “very good” atthe fifth grade of Primary School. ABSTRACT The research aims at utilizing cooperative learning in teaching reading skill for Islamic college students. The research was classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles where each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subject were taken from PAI 5 which contained 30 students. The data of this research were obtained from the test, observation checklist, and field notes. The findings of research showed that cooperative learning was effective in developing students’ reading skill. The findings revealed that there were nineteen students who achieved the minimum criteria of achievement in cycle 1, which percentage was 63.3%. In cycle 2, it was found that there were twenty five students who achieved the minimum criteria of achievement, which percentage increased to 83.3%. Both of the classical and individual achievements have met the criteria of success. Besides, students were active in joining classroom activities and completing their classroom tasks. Therefore, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning was effective to develop the students’ reading skill. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan pembelajaran kooperatif dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi Islam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian diambil dari kelas PAI 5 yang terdiri dari 30 mahasiswa. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil tes, lembar observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan membaca mahasiswa. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ada sembilan belas mahasiswa yang mencapai kriteria pencapaian minimal pada siklus 1, dengan persentase 63,3%. Pada siklus 2, ditemukan bahwa ada dua puluh lima mahasiswa yang mencapai kriteria pencapaian minimum dengan persentase 83,3%. Persentase klasik dan individual telah memenuhi kriteria keberhasilan. Selain itu, mahasiswa aktif mengikuti kegiatan kelas dan menyelesaikan tugas kelas mereka. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif efektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan membaca mahasiswa. How to Cite: Marzuki, A., G. (2016). The study sought to examine adoption of nutritious drought tolerant (DT) maize using social science research methods and participatory demonstration trials. The social science study used mixed method approach which combined both qualitative and quantitative methods. A split-plot demonstration trial of three improved maize varieties and a local variety, and two levels of Nitrogen fertilizer were established. The two fertilizer levels were low N [LN] (30 kg N ha-1) and high N [HN] (90 kg N ha-1). The results of the social science study showed 85% of men consider early maturity, grain quality and storability in adopting DT maize. Results also revealed that beside earliness and higher yield, taste and easy to harvest influenced women farmer’s choice for DT maize varieties. Climatic endurance, increased yield and grain quality showed a positive and statistically significant relationship with adoption of DT maize. On average, HN fertilization increased DT maize grain yields by 41% compared to the LN fertilization. The improved DT maize varieties had yield advantages ranging from 25 to 43% over the local variety. From this, DT maize appears to have a potential for its use with N-fertilizer in the fight against food insecurity with improved adoption and utilization in Ghana.

Purpose of this research is to improve student's Social ability using cooperative learning type of jigsaw in studying Social class 5 gedongtengen elementary school Yogyakarta. The subject of this research is take from one class students in grade fifth which is consisten of 29 students. Data taking technique using observation, questionnare, and documentation. Average score of questionnaire in Social ability is 69%. After completition of cycle 1, average score improve and become 75%. In the second cycle questionnaire having a improvement 83%. Results of this research showing that learning process of social science having a improvement after implement of JIGSAW model of cooperative learning.

<p>This research was based on the fact that the activity and learning results of students of grade IX.5 at SMPN 5 Bukittinggi were low. The purpose of this research was to gain information and discuss the improvement of activity and learning results of Social Study by using cooperative model type Numbered Heads Together. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with qualitative approach. There were 2 cycles in this research, each of which consisted of 4 meetings namely planning, application, observing, and reflecting procedures. The subject of this research was the students of grade IX.5 of SMPN 5 Bukittinggi which consisted of 34 students; 15 females and 19 males. The instruments used in this research were test, students’ activity observation sheet, questionnaire, interview, documentations, and field notes. The data was analyzed by using percentage technique. The result of this research showed that the application of Numbered Heads Together could improve the activity and learning result of Social Study of grade IX.5 students of SMPN 5 Bukittinggi.</p>
