The article describes that there is a problem of providing the population of the planet with a complete protein in the world today. It is proved that its lack can lead to significant pathologies. This issue becomes very acute with the rapid increase in the number of people on Earth. In this situation the challenge is complicated for compound feed producers because it is necessary to provide protein feeds to farm animals and poultry to meet people's needs for animal protein products. However, feed manufacturers should not use protein raw materials that can be consumed as food. Based on cooperation with compound feed producers, the task of finding alternative sources of protein raw materials, preferably of vegetable origin, is set. The optimal composition of protein feed additive (PFA) for soybean meal replacement in compound feeds for farm animals and poultry has been developed. PFA can be manufactured at a feed mill with portion technology by weighing portions of components and mixing in a paddle periodic action mixer. PFA can be used as a part of compound feeds for poultry farms and livestock complexes, feed concentrates for poultry and livestock farms, feed mills with advanced technology, inter-farm or mini-feed mills. We have developed compound feed recipes for heavy type turkeys using PFA to determine the cost-effectiveness of using PFA in compound feed. Turkeys have been chosen as a poultry because they are the most demanding birds to the quality and quantity of protein in the ration. The experimental samples of PFA were made in accordance with the developed recipes. We determined their physical properties and chemical composition. The PFA experimental samples match the quality of soybean meal according to the physical properties and chemical composition. In accordance with the developed recipes of mixed feeds for heavy type turkeys experimental samples of starter and grower feeds were made. Research of the physical properties and chemical composition of compound feeds has shown that the replacement of soybean meal with PFA in their composition does not affect the nutritional value and technological properties of the final product.

In the article the advantages of using grain legumes as protein plant concentrates are analysed, and a comparative analysis of the chemical composition of the pea and the soybean meal is carried out. Besides, the official parameters for different protein products for pig feeding are presented. To determine whether it is possible to introduce protein plant concentrates into compound feed, it is necessary to know their physical properties. So, the physical properties of the protein plant concentrates have been investigated for the following parameters: moisture content, bulk density, angle of repose, and flowability. Methods of introducing protein plant concentrates into compound feeds have been developed and presented. Taking into account the physical properties and norms of introducing protein plant concentrates for farm animals and poultry, a scheme has been developed for a technological line preparing a portion of grain, powdery, mineral raw materials and meals. One of the methods of introducing protein plant concentrates into compound feeds is extrusion. That is why, a technological scheme of an extrusion line for grain legumes has been developed. The technological scheme provides for the extrusion of a soybeans and peas mixture in the ratio 1:1. Also, the physical properties of the extruded feed additive have been studied. With the software package “Korm Optima Expert,” recipes for feeding piglets aged 43–60 days have been calculated (with protein plant concentrates used in the recipes), and some feeds of animal origin have been replaced with extruded feed additives. According to the calculated recipes, an experimental batch of mixed feeds with the use of protein plant concentrates has been manufactured, and its physical properties have been determined.

Quality of raw materials, including quartz sand and quartzite, varies from one deposit to another. Furthermore, the material quality determines in which industrial branches it can be used after certain preparation processes. Potential applications of quartz raw materials are: in the construction and refractory industry, ceramics and glass industry, then in metallurgy, foundry and also in production of water treatment filters. Geological investigations of the central Serbia region, in the Rekovac municipality, resulted in identification of occurrence of quartz sand ("Ursula") and quartzite ("Velika Krusevica"). Preliminary laboratory tests and characterization of the quartz sand size fraction -0.63+0.1 mm confirmed the possibility of applying this size fraction in the construction materials industry, while the quartzite can be used in refractory, glass and metallurgy industries. After determining the geological reserve of quartz sand "Ursula" and quartzite "Velika Krusevica", detailed investigations are required. Quality conditions from the aspect of chemical composition and physical properties of quartz sand and quartzite are mostly clearly defined by a special standard for this purpose. On the other hand, there are also application areas where standards does not exist, but users define their quality conditions. This example is with the application of quartz sand in the production of water glass. Chemical composition as well is not always the determining factor for the application of quartz raw material. For example, for quartz sand used for sandblasting, grain form is essential. From the economic analysis point of view, the prices of quartz raw materials vary depending on their chemical and physical properties. After all, what needs to be pointed out is the fact that these raw materials are very widespread in nature and that their exploitation is quite simple. After the raw material is excavated, it is stored and further sieved, washed, dried and processed according to customer requirements. All of these processes are cheaper than preparing, for example, limestone, and significaly cheaper than preparation of metal ores.

The article describes that domestic feed products cannot always compete with high quality products of foreign firms. However, the use of imported feed leads to a significant increase in their value and, as a consequence, to an increase in the cost price of the final product. It is established that for the normal development and realization of productivity, turkeys should receive quality and balanced for all indicators of compound feed. Therefore, the task was to develop recipes for turkeys using high quality domestic raw materials. The necessity to determine the complete components characteristics of compound feeds for the finished products production, which meets the requirements of regulatory documents and the consumer, has been proved. There are many indicators and factors that are not taken into account when calculating recipes, but significantly affect the compound feed quality. We have developed compound feed recipes for heavy type turkeys aged 1…4 weeks, 5…13 weeks, 14…17 weeks, 18…30 weeks and over 31 weeks using the “Korm Optima Expert” software complex. The program incorporates the principle of calculating recipes at minimum cost, taking into account the restrictions on the input of each component and the nutrition of the finished product using linear programming by formulas. The expediency of replacing soybean meal in poultry feed due to its high cost for cheaper protein components is substantiated. In order to reduce the cost of compound feed, we have proposed the optimal composition of protein feed additive (PFA) for replacement soybean meal in feed recipes. On the basis of the developed recipes of compound feeds for heavy type turkeys we calculated similar recipes of compound feeds with replacement of soybean meal for PFA in their composition according to the norms of its introduction The quality indicators of finished products are in compliance with the minimum nutritional requirements of compound feeds for heavy type turkeys of a given age. The cost of compound feeds with PFA is much lower than similar with soybean meal. We determined the annual feed consumption of turkeys by growing periods based on the daily feed intake and the duration of each fattening period.

The main task of the compound feed industry is development and introduction of high-performance equipment and technologies, expansion of the resource base and the range of finished products. Along with this, in the canning industry, a lot of by-products are formed. By their chemical composition, they are as good as the main products. However, by-products of the canning industry are characterized by a high moisture content. They deteriorate very quickly and require immediate disposal. That is why, the purpose of the paper was to study the effect of heat treatment on the physicochemical properties and on the quantitative and qualitative composition of the microflora of the feed additive made with the use of carrot pomace. The physical properties, chemical composition, sanitary quality, and permissible shelf life of carrot pomace have been determined. The optimum quantitative and qualitative composition of the feed additive have been reasoned and researched. It has been established that the process of extrusion improves the physical properties and increases the digestibility of nutrients. It also improves the sanitary condition and extends the shelf life of the additive. As a result of extrusion of the feed additive, the moisture content decreased by 32.2%, the angle of repose increased by 11.8%, the flowability decreased by 33.3%, the damaged starch content decreased by 33.2%, and the amount of water-soluble carbohydrates became 5 times as big. Besides, under the influence of high temperature and pressure, the total number of bacteria decreased by 89%, and that of mould fungi by 83%. During storage of the feed additive for 6 months, the QMAFAnM decreased by 32.5%. The resulting feed additive will solve the problem utilizing canning industry by-products, expand the raw material base and reduce feed consumption.

The article presents a literature review on the need to balance feed for farm animals and poultry on the content of complete protein, which contains a complete set of essential and essential amino acids, the characteristics of feed materials of animal origin in relation to its protein value. The section "Materials and methods" presents methods for determining: crude protein by the Kjeldahl method, digestible protein with 0,2 % pepsin, and the coefficient of digestibility, and the principles of testing, as well as characteristics of methods for determining the content of essential and non-essential amino acids. incl. sulfur-containing, using the system of capillary electrophoresis "Kapel-105M". As a result of the conducted researches it is established that in terms of protein value (digestible protein and digestibility coefficient) feather flour is the least valuable, it is also poor in lysine, methionine, tryptophan and histidine, compared to other types of raw materials, despite hydrolysis and high heat treatment. Meat and bone meal are also less valuable in terms of digestible protein and essential amino acids. The best indicators of protein value were observed in dry blood plasma in terms of digestible protein content and digestibility coefficient, which is 89.9%, which indicates its good digestibility by animals and poultry. In terms of digestible protein, essential amino acids and digestibility, meat, blood meal and dry blood plasma are the most valuable. Due to this, these products are effective in feeding for protein synthesis of livestock and poultry products.

The article considers the possibility of obtaining a protein-rich feed additive from by-products of sunflower oil production. From literary sources it is known that in the global food market, Ukraine ranks first in cultivating the sunflower and in production and export of sunflower oil. Correspondingly, there are more by-products, such as press cakes and oil meal, which are high-protein feeds for farm animals. Recently, oil press factories have been producing high fat press cakes for farm animals and poultry’s energy needs. The shelf-life of high fat press cakes is very short, and besides, their physical properties are poor. So, it has been suggested to produce a protein-rich feed additive based on sunflower oil meal, sunflower press cake and limestone flour. The quality parameters of sunflower seeds and by-products of their processing have been determined. Five samples of the additive with different ratios of sunflower oil meal, sunflower press cakes, and limestone flour have been studied. The coefficient of variation characterizing the even distribution of the components in the additive has been determined. Besides the distribution of limestone flour in the additive, the distribution of sunflower press cake matter has been investigated, because it contains a lot of fat and has poor physical properties. The determination of the coefficients of variation by the distribution of limestone flour and by the distribution of sunflower press cake matter has shown that the mixing is the most effective when the recipe includes 75% of sunflower oil meal, 10 % of sunflower press cake, and 15% of limestone flour. A protein-rich feed additive based on by-products of the sunflower oil production has been developed. The additive can be used to feed animals and poultry.

The production of ecologically clean fish products is in demand in the food market. As a result of the research, the nutritional quality and chemical composition of the muscle tissue of the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.) were evaluated using the pro-biotic additive Enzimsporin. A valuable quality of Nile tilapia meat is its high protein content. In the muscle tissue, the maximum amount of protein was 80.4%, in the yearlings of the 1st experimental group, which is 7.51% (P ≥ 0.99) higher than in the control group. Yearlings of the 2nd experimental group outperformed their peers from the control group by 4.8% (P ≥ 0.95). Its amount in fry of Nile tilapia varied from 72.27–72.73% in the experimental groups to 74.71% in the control group. The fat content in fry varied from 9.55% in the control to 12.19% in the fish of the 2nd experimental group. The amount of lipids was the highest in the control variant of Nile tilapia yearlings (11.48%), which is 6.48% more than in the 1st experimental group and by 4.48% more than that in the 2nd experimental group. The lipid-protein coefficient (0.06-0.09) of the experimental groups characterizes the meat as less tender, but high in protein, possessing lipotropic properties that protect the liver from fatty infiltration. The study of nutritional value and functional and technological properties shows that tilapia meat can be attributed to highly saturated food raw materials and used to obtain dietary products.
