ABSTRACT Objectives: to validate entrepreneurial management technology for the nursing practice. Methods: methodological study, carried out based on the development of an entrepreneurial management technology, based on literature review and, later, content validation by 11 experts, recognized by their peers as entrepreneurs. The validation process took place through Delphi conferences, between June and September 2018. Results: on the second round of Delphi conferences, at least 90% agreement was obtained on all items. In addition, all items were validated as pertinent and considered prospective and inducing of new thinking and acting among nursing professionals who wish to undertake and explore opportunities, goods, and services in the area. Final Considerations: it was noted that the experts, in general, showed good adherence to the initiative and ease in validating the theoretical-conceptual dimension and the dimension of “Personal/professional qualities necessary for the performance of entrepreneurial management”; however, they had difficulty in validating the methodological steps.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to develop and validate conceptual and operational definitions of nursing diagnoses of the International Classification for Nursing Practice for people living with Aids. Methods: methodological study with 100 individuals with Aids, in a hospital school. In addition, 19 nurses selected from the Lattes platform acted as experts in the validation process. The research was conducted, using three moments: identification and validation of the nursing diagnoses; construction of the conceptual and operational definitions of the diagnoses, and content validation, using the content validity index. Results: a total of 35 diagnoses were identified and 18 had their conceptual and operational definitions validated, with validity index of ≥ 0.8. Conclusions: the construction of the conceptual and operational definitions enables nurses to analyze the clinical inferences and endorse the nursing diagnosis, contributing to its predictive capacity.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes for children with nutritional anomalies based on terms found in a children’s clinical protocol and on the 2017 International Classification for Nursing Practice. Methods: exploratory-descriptive study, conducted with the validation of diagnoses/outcomes by six nurses of the children’s clinic of the Federal District’s teaching hospital. It was based on the cross-mapping between the terms of International Classification for Nursing Practice 2017 and the terms of a children’s health care protocol. The list of nursing diagnosis/outcomes was developed, then submitted to the validation process using a Likert-type scale and considering statements with content validity index > 0.79 to be validated. Results: a total of 51 diagnoses/outcomes were generated, and of those, 11 were contained in International Classification for Nursing Practice. Those that were not in it were evaluated for similarity and comprehensiveness in relation to International Classification for Nursing Practice. Thirty nursing diagnoses/outcomes were validated with CVI > 0.79 among the nurses in the validation process. Conclusions: this study will allow the formation of a terminological International Classification for Nursing Practice subset aimed at children’s nutrition.

ABSTRACT Considering the lack of tools to assess the results associated with the use of simulation as a teaching strategy, this study aimed to translate and validate to the Portuguese language the Simulation Design Scale (Student Version). A methodological study of instrument translation and validation was undertaken. After accomplishing all steps of the translation process, the validation process took place in the context of an event on critical patient care. In total, 103 registered nurses participated in the study. The validity and reliability of the scale, the pattern of correlation between variables, the sampling adequacy test and the sphericity test showed satisfactory results. As there is no connection among the groupings established in the exploratory factor analysis, it was decided to follow the division established in the original version. The scale was named Escala do Design da Simulação [in Portuguese]. It is concluded that the scale has good psychometric properties and an appropriate potential, although further research is needed for their consolidation.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to validate the terms of the specialized nursing language used in the care of people with chronic kidney disease undergoing conservative treatment identified in the literature by mapping them with terms of the International Classification for Nursing Practice, version 2019, and representing them by means of a mandala. Methods: descriptive, documentary and methodological study. The terms were collected in 53 scientific articles, standardized and mapped with the terminology. The validation was performed by six nurses through a focus group. The Content Validity Index was used and terms with a value ≥ 0.80 were validated. Results: the normalization resulted in 957 relevant terms, of which 499 were constant and 458 not included in the terminology. Terms were validated when Content Validity Index was between 0.86 and 1.0. Conclusions: the study allowed the validation of terms that will contribute to unify the professional language of nursing in the care of people with chronic kidney disease.

Spiritual care in oncology nursing practice for adult patientsAbstract: To understand spiritual care in nursing practice and to highlight the importance of spirituality in coping with cancer patients. Integrative literature review, using the LILACS (Latin American Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences) databases, BDENF (Nursing Database) and (IBECS) Bibliographic Index Español en Ciencias de la Salud. Spirituality and Religiosity are tools of great proportion for coping with patients' cancer, but the lack of preparation, the failure to assist health professionals who care for these patients implies inefficient assistance. Religiosity and spirituality are fundamental in the course of the health-disease process to face cancer and patients use them as a tool to have a new perspective in the process of illness and treatment itself, it is also emphasized the need to cover the knowledge of nursing professionals about spiritual care.Descriptors: Spirituality, Nursing Care, Oncology Nursing. Cuidado espiritual en la práctica de enfermería oncológica para pacientes adultosResumen: Comprender el cuidado espiritual en la práctica de enfermería y resaltar la importancia de la espiritualidad en el afrontamiento de pacientes con cáncer. ObjectivesClitoral surgery on minors diagnosed with differences of sex development is increasingly positioned as a violation of human rights. This qualitative study identified how health professionals (HPs) navigate the contentious issues as they offer care to affected families.DesignQualitative analysis of audio-recorded semistructured interviews with HPs. All of the interviews were transcribed verbatim for theoretical thematic analysis.SettingTwelve specialist multidisciplinary care centres for children, adolescents and adults diagnosed with a genetic condition associated with differences of sex development.ParticipantsThirty-two medical, surgical, psychological and nursing professionals and clinical scientists in 12 specialist centres in Britain and Sweden formed the interview sample.ResultsAll interviewees were aware of the controversial nature of clitoral surgery and perceived themselves and their teams as non-interventionist compared with other teams. Data analyses highlighted four strategies that the interviewees used to navigate their complex tasks: (1) engaging with new thinking, (2) holding on to historical assumptions, (3) reducing the burden of dilemmas and (4) being flexible. In response to recent reports and debates that challenge clitoral surgery on minors, HPs had revised some of their opinions. However, they struggled to reconcile their new knowledge with the incumbent norms in favour of intervention as they counsel care users with variable reactions and expectations. The flexible approach taken may reflect compromise, but the interviewees were often trapped by the contradictory values and assumptions.ConclusionsIf the pathology-based vocabularies and narratives about genital diversity could be modified, and normative assumptions are questioned more often, clinicians may be more adept at integrating their new knowledge into a more coherent model of care to address the psychosocial concerns that genital surgery purports to overcome.
