Abstract In this article, I explore part of Silva Lisboa’s production, where he reinforces state religion and the articulation between science and revelation, a condition to reach a “higher stage”, whose best example could be seen in Great Britain. In my view, with the Constitution of the Brazilian Empire, it was necessary to outline the grounds for a straight conduct, thus associating moral science and theology as a strategy to fight the catechisms of libertinism.

This chapter explores how Ferguson used the moral philosophy of chapter 3, based on the moral science of chapter 2, to create a system of education for the rising Scottish middle class. It examines his notion of active pedagogy and his use of stoic and Christian ideas to create a cadre of well-educated and sensible gentlemen who would form the backbone of the British state. The chapter examines Ferguson as a theorist of the modern gentleman rather than the ancient citizen and suggests that he saw institutions as shaped by their personnel. This leads to an account that favours political stability and gradual reform. Ferguson is seen as forward looking educator rather than backward looking nostalgic for Roman citizenship.

This article aims to study the values contained in fasting education for elementary school students. The values of education are the value of religious education, the value of moral education, social education, and cultural education values. Fasting is a religious activity that people Islam as a form of obedience to His God in addition to other services. Ramadan fasting is a refrain from eating, drinking, and having sex and other things that make it clear that fasting will not rise from dawn until sunset during Ramadan. The current phenomenon is increasingly reduced worship activities, tepo seliro, gotong royong, mutual help, and attitudes other positive attitudes such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and tolerant living in life. Ramadan fasting not only emphasizes refraining from eating and drinking only, but training in improving faith, mental coaching, morality, and understanding the meaning of difference. In elementary school, these grades need to be instilled as a cornerstone of students in their development, especially in the aspects of personality such as: character, behavior, responsibility, discipline, and social spirit.

*Full article is in FrenchEnglish abstract: This literature review presents seven major works on Durkheim written by leading Chinese researchers and published during the last 10 years. Some of them try to analyse Durkheim’s views in order to understand contemporary Chinese society, by questioning what Durkheim teaches us about moral education, or by examining his conception of the nation. Others are more in the nature of scholarly commentary on his theory, whether by examining notions of anomie, the division of labour, suicide or a moral science.

This paper was aimed at shedding light on the issue of the attitude of Muslims towards others and different ones from the perspective of the primary and most important source of Islam, the Qur'an. The author acknowledges the fact that the Qur'an provides instructions by the Almighty God on everything people need in this life. The attitude towards others and different ones is the key issue on which relations among people and establishing order and maintaining peace on Earth depend. The Qur'an attaches great importance to this topic, providing a solid basis and precise rules among which the most relevant are: fraternity, equality, familiarization, mutual respect, charity and justice to all regardless of nation or race. This paper discusses these six foundations underlying coexistence solely from the Qur'anic perspective. It has been concluded that humanity today, if not driven by lust and if obeying the call of God, can establish peaceful coexistence, despite diverse religious, cultural and civilizational affiliations, and can provide mutual help based on the universal values offering good for all people on the planet.

The themes raised in the sermons of the Portuguese Jesuit Antonio Vieira were far ahead of their time. Already in the XVII century, the missionary questions the equality of Europeans, Africans and Indians before God, as well as the injustice of one race oppressing another. In his sermons, he asks his listeners to repent and reject slavery. He wants every colonist to become an apostle in his new homeland: to sow the faith of Christ and take care of the religious and moral education of his slaves. Uncovering the conflicts between the three ethnic groups, Vieira seeks to smooth out these contradictions, pointing out the ways of peaceful coexistence of the three cultures within the bosom of the same faith.

Few Asians reject the basic hallmarks of modernity: a market economy, some form of democracy, some type of rule of law, and some human rights. At the same time, many Asians and for that matter non-Asians – including, we are told, the contributors to Confucianism and the Modern World ndash; “are somewhat disenchanted with Western-style liberal modernity” (p. 24).The editors are well aware that Confucianism must be adapted to modernity if it is to remain relevant. They are also well aware that is it necessary to move beyond the often frustratingly abstract assertions about the compatibility or incompatibility of Confucianism with capitalism, democracy, rule of law and human rights. Accordingly, they organize the book into sections that correspond roughly to the first three topics, human rights having been discussed at length elsewhere. The section on democracy contains Hahm Chaihark's exploration of li (rites, propriety) as a constitutional norm; Jongryn Mo's invocation of the censorate as a possible mechanism for administrative accountability; Wang Juntao's historical account of prominent intellectuals who supported aspects of Confucianism and democracy; Chang Yun-shik's discussion of mutual help and democracy in Korea; David Hall and Roger Ames's account of a pragmatic Confucian democracy; and Geir Helgesen's call for an updated Confucian moral education to offset the existential insecurity individuals feel in this era of globalization.

Islam is a complete and ultimate treatise. It becomes a system of ways of life that regulates all aspects of life. It is not just regulating matters of worship, but also mu'amalah which regulates all aspects of life including economic activities. Moral education in any field including economics is absolutely necessary and in Islam it is becoming a basic pillar of economic entities. Abundant wealth and products will be meaningless if humans as perpetrators do not have morals, and it will undoubtedly be in vain due to the occurrence of abuse and tyranny. The practice of lies, cheating, fraud, and the like in today's business world is very widespread and mushrooming with a variety and forms. In principle, all business transactions that contain elements of unclearness, or uncertainty, or injustice, are contrary to those outlined by the Prophet Muhammad PHBU. A Muslim businessman must have high integrity and a strong commitment to implement morality or noble norms. Such as fear of God, open mind, honesty, trustworthiness, mutual help, unpretentious life, prioritizing the interests of others above personal interests. Those noble characters will deliver the culprit to gain two advantages; now days and hereafter benefits. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Actually, the merchants on the judgment day will be raised as disobedient people, except those who fear Allah, do good and honest. (HR. Hakim) In doing business, strengthen faith and piety to Allah SWT, because there are many temptations out there offering tantalizing benefits tirelessly. Rest assured, much and the least amount of human sustenance is the domain of God's power, our  obligation is only to seek it according to the norms and rules. So ask for sustenance with Allah, and worship Him and give thanks to Him. Only to Him will you be returned. (Al Ankabut: 17) Key words: morals, business, profit
