Abstract.TEACHERS’ LEADERSHIP STYLES: TEENAGE STUDENTS’ POINT OF VIEWStudies on leadership styles adopted by teachers, in different learning levels and modalities, have become topics for discussion in the academic environment. Several researches relate factors concerning the teachers’ leadership style to low learning levels, conflicts and improper behavior, and prevention to bullying at school. This study aimed at meeting high-school students enrolled in a Brazilian public school, and assessing their perception towards their teachers’ leadership styles. 458 students and 47 teachers participated in this research, which consisted of a nonexperimental qua-litative-quantitative description. We used three instruments to collect data: the students answered to a Teachers’ Leadership Style Inventory scale and 43 of them attended a semistructured interview; the teachers answered to sociodemographic and working questionnaires. We used descriptive met-hods to generate the analyses, and obtained total scores based on responsiveness, demand and coercive control. Level of significance used was p<0.05. A significant portion of students consider their teachers negligent. The coercive control used by teachers is also significant, reaching 77%, which ranges between “slightly high” and “high”. This study points out that, at school, there is a complexity of factors that may interfere significantly with the expected results, and that allows the assessment of the teachers’ leadership styles from the students’ point of view.Keywords: teenagers; teachers; leadership styles.Resumo.Os estudos sobre estilos de liderança adotados pelos professores, nos diferentes níveis e modalidades de ensino, têm se configurado como objeto de discussões no meio acadêmico. Diversas pesquisas apontam para fatores relacionados ao estilo de liderança de professores, tais como baixo nível de aprendizagem dos estudantes, conflitos e comportamentos inadequados e prevenção ao Bullyng na escola. Este estudo teve por objetivo conhecer e analisar as percepções dos estudantes adolescentes matriculados no ensino médio, numa escola da rede pública de ensino brasileira, acerca dos estilos de liderança de seus professores. A pesquisa foi conduzida com 458 estudantes 47 professores. Consistiu em um estudo descritivo qualiquantitativo, de natureza não experimental. Foram utilizados três instrumentos para coletado dos dados. Os estudantes responderam à escala Inventário de Estilos de Liderança de Professores e 43 deles participaram de uma entrevista semiestruturada; os professores responderam a um questionário sociodemográfico e de trabalho. As análises foram geradas por meio de medidas descritivas. Foram obtidos os escores totais, considerando os fatores responsividade, exigência e controle coercitivo. O nível de significância adotado, para os testes foi p<0,05. Uma parcela significativa dos estudantes considera os professores negligentes. O controle coercitivo praticado pelos professores, também é significativo chegando a 77% entre “tendência a alto” e alto. O estudo indica que, na escola, há uma complexidade de fatores que podem interferir, significativamente, nos resultados desejados e que é possível analisar os estilos de liderança dos professores, a partir do que é percebido pelos estudantes.Palavras-chave: adolescentes; professores; estilos de liderança.

The purpose of the study is to improve teacher performance in SMA Negeri 4 Lubuklinggau, how is the principle of increasing teacher permormance. The research method used is descriptive study, observation and documentation, and this study also uses a type of procedure to develop materials. The results of research on principals have implemented leadership strategies well, by discussing the conditions and conditions of teachers, creativity in applying leadership styles, having tips and having motivations that improve to improve teacher performance. The conclusion of this study is that this study is used to improve the performance of high school students, and have high motivation to improve teacher performance. The objective of the current research is to identify the effect of using the student's guide bag on the attitudes and professional tendencies of high school students who have learning difficulties in Riyadh city. The researcher used two tools: the student's guide bag and the vocational awareness scale. After the data were collected and statistically analyzed by calculating the arithmetic mean to identify the differences between the pre-test and post-test of the occupational awareness scale, and the ETA box (2). The study found that there are statistically significant differences At a level of significance less than (0.05) among the average responses of secondary school students who have learning difficulties in the tribal and post-application of the vocational awareness scale. There is a high impact on the effectiveness of the student's student bag program to improve vocational awareness among high school students who have learning difficulties To study the need to pay attention to vocational guidance and support materially and morally, and to participate students who have learning difficulties themselves in planning guidance programs.

The present study investigates whether epistemic cognition in moral domain (dubbed metaethical cognition) develops analogously to epistemic reasoning regarding empirical knowledge. The study’s conceptual framework distinguishes two main areas of metaethical cognition (beliefs about the nature of moral judgments and conceptions of the process of moral judgment formation), and three metaethical stances (intuitionism, subjectivism, and transsubjectivism). In a sample of 200 adolescents ( M 1/4 16.18 years, SD 1/4 2.41), these metaethical stances could be reliably identified by means of a semistructured interview procedure. Adolescents’ metaethical stance was related to age, cross-sectionally as well as longitudinally. Furthermore, significant differences in metaethical cognition were found between high school students and an expert group of university students with special training in moral philosophy. Overall, metaethical and epistemic stances were correlated substantially. Findings demonstrate that metaethical reasoning development is a structural analogue of epistemic development regarding factual knowledge. Implications for studies on moral development and for research addressing the domain specificity of epistemic reasoning development are discussed.

Este trabajo identifica y caracteriza algunas concepciones de alumnos de bachillerato sobre las propiedades del comentario escrito de un texto narrativo en un ambiente académico, y algunas maneras en que aplican esos criterios para redactar y corregir sus textos. El enfoque corresponde al estudio de la intencionalidad en el desempeño en el marco de los estudios de la textualidad. Los ejemplos representativos de los textos nos permiten apreciar las concepciones sobre el comentario escrito de una lectura narrativa y, en la práctica, la intencionalidad en las decisiones para escribir y editar los textos. Se presenta el diseño metodológico de elicitación para que los estudiantes escribieran comentarios, el procedimiento de caracterización y clasificación de los textos y las categorías propuestas para estudiar los textos en términos del tipo de información, los tipos de texto y los recursos discursivos.AbstractThis paper identifies and characterizes some conceptions of high school students about the properties of written comments of narrative texts in academic environment, and some ways they apply those criteria to compose and edit their texts. The research corresponds to an approach of intentionality in performance in textual studies. Representative examples of the texts let us appreciate the conceptions about the written comment of a narrative text and, in practice, the intentionality in the decisions involved in writing and editing texts. Leadership styles remain very pertinent in the effective performance of an organization. Without good leadership ability to coordinate the staff and the activities in an organization may be hampered thereby affecting the overall development of such organization. Leadership is an important determinant in the effective functioning of an organization. The research employs descriptive survey design of correlation type which is very important as the study tries to find out the relationship between leadership styles of sports administrators and organization performance in Ilorin. Two research questions and three operational hypotheses were formulated for the study. The target populations for the study are 62 sports personnel in the sports council Ilorin which comprised of Director of Sports, Stadium manager, organizing secretaries and coaches of the existing 20 sports in the Kwara State Sports Council. No sample is selected as the researcher made use of all the sports personnel as respondents for the study. Researcher questionnaire designed in a modified four points likert rating scale was used to collect data from the respondents which was validated by a Professor of sports management, Kwara State University, Malete and a season sports administrator, ministry of youth and sports, Abuja and tested for reliability using split half method and Cronbach alpha was used to determine the result with a coefficient of 0.80 obtained. Inferential statistic of multiple regressions was used to test the null hypotheses formulated at 0.05 level of significance. The findings reveal that leadership styles of sports administrators have significant relationship with organization performance, each leadership style has significant contribution to organization performance and all the leadership styles significantly contributed to organization performance. Among the recommendations suggested include: Sports administrators must be able to employ variety of leadership style is the best among others. The present study is an attempt to provide evidence to the neural basis of the relationship between academic motivation and academic achievement constructs. Sample for the study includes 49 students (25 girls and 24 boys) from VIIIth and IXth classes of a secondary school in Sriram Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The data for measuring academic motivation is collected using <italic>Academic Motivation Scale, High School Version (AMS-HS 28)</italic> for high school students prepared by Vallerand and et.al (1992). Academic achievement of the students is measured by collecting the students’ grade point average in a summative assessment. For data analysis, Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation coefficient is used. The significance of the test is calculated using critical value table for Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation for the level of significance α at 0.05. The findings of the study establish the prefrontal cortex of the brain as the neural basis for the relationship between academic motivation and academic achievement in the chosen subjects.

The cultivation of nationalism is very important for the younger generation, including students throughout the archipelago. National pride is the basic capital to build a nation state regardless of ethnicity, language, and religion followed by high school students. This article aims to determine 1) the national perception of Christian students in Central Sulawesi, Kab. Poso; 2) and explore what factors shape the national perceptions of Christian students in the region. By using the quantitative description method, in this study the following findings were obtained: The sense of state defense from the research sample is known to be 91%, maintains the Pancasila ideology 91%, is proud of the NKRI 92%, respects the red and white flag 94%, respects differences in 99%, coexists with other tribes 98%, respects religion and beliefs 100%, congratulate 97% of different religions. Based on the data about these perceptions, it can be seen that; First, students in Poso District have positive perceptions of nationalism (nationalism). Second, students still have a vulnerable national view, especially when connected with attitudes towards the basic existence of statehood. Third, students still have a vulnerability to religious issues, where religious sentiment can be a trigger for conflict. Fourth, students still hold the view that the life of the nation and state can only be strengthened if its citizens uphold the philosophy of the nation (Pancasila) within the framework of a unitary state.

Abstrak: Soft skills merupakan faktor yang turut menunjang kesuksesan siswa belajar matematika. Perlu ada upaya untuk menerapkan suatu model pembelajaran yang dapat memicu peningkatan soft skills siswa dalam matematika. Penelitian ini menerapkan model pembelajaran generatif sebagai alternatif pembelajaran yang diperkirakan akan memicu peningkatan ketiga kemampuan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kontribusi penerapan model tersebut terhadap peningkatan kemampuan soft skills pada level sekolah (tinggi, sedang dan rendah). Penelitian menerapkan desain kuasi eksperimen. Sampel terdiri atas 191 orang siswa kelas VIII pada tiga SMP Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta yang mewakili level sekolah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes (pretes dan postes), sedang analisis data menggunakan statistik uji-t dan anova dua jalur. Dari hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa (1) ada perbedaan pencapaian, peningkatan soft skills siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol; (2) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran dan level sekolah terhadap peningkatan soft skills. Kata Kunci: kemampuan soft skills, pembelajaran generatif THE ENHANCEMENT OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SOFT SKILLS THROUGH GENERATIVE LEARNING Abstract: Soft skills are factors that support students success in learning mathematics. The importance of the students soft skills, unfortunately, are not in line with at the students abilities in these competence. Therefore, we have to implemented a learning model that is expected to lead development soft skills of the students in mathematics. Generative learning model is applied in this study as an alternative learning is predicted to stimulate development soft skills of the students. This study is aimed at determining the contribution of generative learning model of the enhancement of soft skills for difference school levels (high, medium, low).This study is quasi-experimental research involving 191 students of eight-grade senior high schools in Yogyakarta involving three levels of school. Research hyphothesis was examined at 5% level of significance, data analyzed using t-test, and twoway ANOVA. The results of the study are: (1) there are different achievement, the enhancement of soft skills of student between experiment of class and control class; (2) there is no interaction betwee learning and school level toward the enhancemen soft skills.
