Even if the use of distance learning and E-learning has a long tradition all over the world and both have been used to keep in contact with students and to provide lessons, support and learning materials, there is an open debate on the balance between advantages and disadvantages in the use of distance learning. This debate is even more central in their use to support students with Learning Disabilities (LDs), an overarching group of neurodevelopmental disorders that affect more than 5% of students. The current COVID-19 outbreak caused school closures and the massive use of E-learning all over the world and it put higher attention on the debate of the effects of E-learning. This paper aims to review papers that investigated the positive and negative effects of the use of Distance Learning and E-learning in students with LDs. We conducted a literature review on the relationship between Distance Learning, E-learning and Learning Disabilities, via Scopus, Eric and Google Scholar electronic database, according to Prisma Guidelines. The findings are summarized using a narrative, but systematic, approach. According to the data resulting from the papers, we also discuss issues to be analyzed in future research and in the use of E-learning during the current pandemic of COVID-19.

In this paper, we examine the perceptions and challenges the third-year students of the Learning and knowledge management course conducted at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, are facing. Specifically, we are interested in the challenges the students encountered during the transition to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, as perceived by students. What was used as the method to collect and analyze the data was personal reflection and content analysis. The findings show that students are facing different challenges. Nevertheless, also several advantages and disadvantages related to the online learning process are identified. We conclude by providing practical examples for pedagogical staff to ease the transition for students and avenues for future research. At the present stage of the development of world civilization, it is problematic to find a field of activity that is not affected to some extent by the consequences of the spread of a new coronavirus infection. The previously unthinkable situation has become a serious and critical test of readiness not only for the world health service, but also for educational institutions at all levels. General education schools, colleges and universities were forced to transform the education process into a new format, experimenting with mass “remote learning”. One can assert that the impact of the pandemic on education, including higher education, has radically changed its foundations. all educational institutions, including universities, found themselves in difficult conditions and were forced to adapt to the current events in a short time, spend significant financial and human resources for accelerated digitalization of education, trying to maintain the quality of education in the current conditions. Educational information and communication technologies, which seemed to be a form of education of the future, also changed their former essence and purpose. Universities were forced to solve many pressing issues in a short time: in what forms to conduct distance learning; what technical means to use for this; how to assess the assimilation of students of the material received; how to conduct final exams, defense of diploma projects, and how to conduct the enrollment for the next academic year. Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University did not stay away from the events. And if in March 2020, the university mainly conducted remote training on the Moodle platform, designed more for independent work of students, then during the second wave, the university successfully conducts distance learning on the modern Zoom platform. The purpose of the article is to show the experience of using the above-mentioned platform in teaching foreign languages, considering its advantages and disadvantages.

The introduction of quarantine restrictions in the world has led to restrictions on many industries of both economic and social spheres of life. Education has not become an exception. The need to level the large number of students necessitated the search for alternative ways of organising educational and pedagogical processes. This is especially an issue for higher education institutions. Higher education institutions train specialists for many sectors of the economy and a significant break in the educational process due to quarantine restrictions could lead to a real collapse of the higher education system. This necessitates the search for ways to transform the pedagogical process in higher education institutions and the introduction of alternative mechanisms and methods of organising the educational process. The purpose of the study was to investigate the ways of transformation of the pedagogical process in higher education during the quarantine. A systematic algorithm for studying the transformation of the pedagogical process in conditions of quarantine and quarantine restrictions in higher education has been developed. The advantages and disadvantages of distance learning technologies of higher education have been identified. The main features of such remote technologies as Moodle, Google Classroom, and Zoom are analysed.

Like many other areas, the educational system is challenging during the time of pandemic of the coronavirus. In the first half of the 2020 year, many schools had online lessons. The same situation was in Croatia, where we had online teaching from March to May in all elementary schools. Thus, the educational system started with fast-changing in terms of online teaching and learning methods. Distance learning has brought many families into specific situations because the help is normally provided to students by the teacher; in this situation, the parent had to do it. Because of that, parents were in a situation where they had to work online or “in vivo” and help their children learn new content. This was especially difficult for parents with a slightly lower level of education, parents who spent much time away from home at work, and especially for parents whose livelihoods called into question their lives, so in addition to organisational, some other socio-economic and emotional difficulties. Thus, this paper aims to research parents’ attitudes about distance learning and their role in these situations during the school year 2020/2021. As we expected, teachers wanted more cooperation with parents and parents wanted more understanding from teachers and not so many exercises in a short time.

In 2013, the Regulation on Distance Learning came into force, probably then no one could have imagined that distance learning would be as popular around the world as it is now. In general, the purpose of developing distance education was to provide the opportunity to receive education in another city or country, but without the direct presence of a person, presence only in the most necessary circumstances, including state exams, thesis defense, and so on. Apropos, even before 2013, distance learning was used in the most famous institutions of higher education in the world. The present is impossible to imagine without distance learning. What has only recently become an isolated phenomenon has become widespread. But at the same time there is a problem of how to effectively organize the educational process using distance learning technologies. The solution to this problem is to use an educational platform, in particular, the Moodle platform. The creation of courses on the Moodle platform with a description of the main stages is characterized. The possibilities of the Moodle educational platform are described and the developed distance courses on the Moodle platform are presented, in particular "Computer networks and the Internet", "Computer graphics and design of polygraphic editions", "Computer design and multimedia", "Programming Internet-oriented applications", which consist of such sections as instructional, which also contains a chat and a forum, lectures, laboratory (practical) works, independent work, modular control work, exam, individual training.
