Abstract: Kampung Godebag  is a village located in Desa Tanjungkerta, Kecamatan Pagerageung, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya, West Java - Indonesia. Godebag village is famous for its nickname as Kampung Islami, all starting from the building of a mosque that is Nurul Anshar Mosque which is the forerunner to the establishment of Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya. With the establishment of Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya make the environment around the boardingers undergo many changes, in terms of infrastructure, livelihood, habits, social and cultural community. Godebag village becomes thick with Islamic nuances and improvements in the quality of education because of the many built education fasilites by the pesantren, the livelihood of many people who turned into entrepreneurship because of the many opportunities for entrepreneurship to meet the needs of the students at boarding schools and students from out of town. By conducting field surveys to related locations and additional data collection from the internet it can be seen what changes and developments are taking place in Kampung Godebag, the results of the research indicate that many people change their homes as entrepreneurs, especially those on the main access road Kompleks Pendidikan Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya.Keyword: History, Settlement, Islamic Village.                                                                          Abstrak: Kampung Godebag adalah sebuah kampung yang berada di Desa Tanjungkerta, Kecamatan Pagerageung, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat – Indonesia. Kampung Godebag terkenal dengan julukannya sebagai Kampung Islami, semua berawal dari di bangunnya sebuah masjid yaitu Masjid Nurul Anshar yang merupakan cikal bakal terbentuknya Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya. Dengan berdirinya Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya membuat lingkungan di sekitar pesantren mengalami banyak perubahan, dari segi infrastruktur, mata pencaharian, kebiasan, sosial dan budaya masyarakat. Kampung Godebag menjadi kental dengan nuansa islami dan peningkatan dalam kualitas pendidikan karena banyaknya dibangun fasilitas pendidikan oleh pihak pesantren, mata pencaharian masyarakat banyak yang berubah menjadi berwirausaha karena banyaknya peluang berwirausaha untuk memenuhi kebutuhan para santri di pesantren dan pelajar dari luar kota. Dengan melakukan survey lapangan ke lokasi terkait dan pengumpulan data tambahan dari internet dapat diketahui perubahan dan perkembangan apa saja yang terjadi di Kampung Godebag, hasil dari penelitian menyebutkan bahwa banyak dari masyarakat yang merubah rumah tingggal mereka sebagai tempat berwirausaha terutama yang berada di pinggir jalan utama menuju Kompleks Pendidikan Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya.Kata Kunci: Sejarah , Permukiman, Kampung Islami.

The quality of teachig is very influential in the quality of education for the teaching process will determine whther the educational goals achieved. The purpose of education can be seen from the quality of students produced and to produce learners who either needed a good teachers as well. “The quality of education is the top priority of every education unit in Bojonegoro Regency so that various activities programs are raised by schools and establish cooperation with communities especially parents of student guardians or committees in the form of active participation and involvement in various fields. This study included the qualitative type of data collection with observation, documents, and authority, analyzed by qualitative descriptive to answer the research focus on the form of committee participation and the quality of education in SMP N 1 and SMP N 2 Bojonegoro. The results of the study indicate that committee participation in educational units in the academic and non-academic fields, for example, input curriculum development, infrastructure or funding. The quality of education in two schools can be proven by the fulfillment of eight educational standards and added one character standard which is input from the committee as well as high public interest in the school, and alumni accepted in favorite secondary schools (input, process, and output). The answer to the two research focuses is in accordance with Johnlitlle's theory of participation and Deming's theory of quality.”

This research aims to analyze the strategy of leaders in improving the quality of education in Zulhijjah Muara Bulian boarding school. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and verification. The results showed kiai has four roles, in improving the quality of education, namely educators, administrators, managers, and supervisors. Improving the quality of education is done by pursuing the welfare of teachers and contributing thought to the progress of the region and able to become cadres of scholars who will lead the ummah in the future by maintaining educational inputs, processes, and outputs.

The leadership of the kiai becomes very important in Islamic boarding school because the development of the quality of pesantren education depends on the competence of the leader, the meaning of the leader here is the kiai or caretaker of the boarding school. This study aims to describe the first role of leadership in improving the quality of education, secondly the leadership of kiai that is effective in improving the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools.This research uses a qualitative method, with a case study in Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School in Malang. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation and observation techniques. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative methods and inductive thinking patterns. The purpose is to analyze the data obtained from field objects, and then to be related to relevant theories.The results showed: 1) The role of the kiai in improving quality in the Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic boarding school in Malang is as a manager, educator, human resource empowerment, decision maker, attainee of the pesantren, motivator and supervisor. 2) Effective kiai leadership is leadership that builds cooperation with kiai or other institutions, regenerates kiai and builds good relations with the community.

AbstractData to inform population assessment of the Interior subspecies of band-tailed pigeon, Patagioenas fasciata fasciata (breeding range from Colorado and Utah south into Sierra Madre Occidental of Mexico), have been lacking despite substantial past banding efforts. We used a data set of more than 26,000 bandings from Colorado, with 3,500 live recaptures and 780 recoveries from the harvest of banded individuals to estimate annual survival, fidelity, and harvest rates. Most birds were harvested in Colorado (62%) followed by Mexico (18%); New Mexico (16%); Arizona (3%); and 1% or less each in California, Washington, and Utah. On average, each year 15% (range 0–30%) of surviving band-tailed pigeons did not return to Colorado. From 1969 to 1981 mean annual survival was 0.633 (standard error [SE] = 0.031) for hatch-year and 0.719 (SE = 0.016) for after-hatch-year birds, with a mean annual recovery rate of 0.015 (SE = 0.002) for hatch-year and 0.011 (SE = 0.001) for after-hatch-year birds. From 1970 to 1974, mean annual abundance of band-tailed pigeons in Colorado on 1 September was 59,911–88,290. These data provide a baseline for additional data collection for band-tailed pigeons in the range of the Interior subspecies.

The Internet is one result of the sophistication and advancement of science and man-made technology. Various conveniences offered, one of which is social media. But unfortunately, this sophistication has an impact on the quality of education. The worst impact in the world of education that may result from social networking sites is beginning to decrease interest in student learning. This is probably because the student's learning motivation also becomes reduced because of the importance of social networking rather than the learning achievement. To minimize the negative impact, as users we must be more intelligent. Internet savvy is how an internet user can manage and utilize internet technology wisely tailored to the needs and not violate ethical and internet codes of ethics.

Abstrak : Theoretically the results of the discussion of this research is expected to provide scientific contributions to the development of science, to provide some suggestions to the school and other schools in terms of teacher performance in improving the quality of education, to be the evaluation for Yayasan Pondok Al Kenaniyah to provide better service in the quality of their education. This study is also expected to be the contribution for the researcher in the field of education. This study uses a qualitative method of data collection. The data is achieved by conducting interviews, observation and checklist. The data is obtained to analyze the performance of teachers in improving the quality of education with the subject of 60 people in Yayasan Al Kenaniyah, East Jakarta to investigate. Based on the data obtained can be summarized as follows: regarding to the performance of teachers in the learning plan, the performance of teachers in the implementation of learning, the performance of teachers in the assessment of learning outcomes, also discipline of the teachers in performing their duties to get good performance. Thus, the quality of education will be better in the future.

This article deals with the language of instruction, also called ‘the least appreciated of all the major educational problems’. It shows how little attention is paid to this issue in donor policies as well as in the recent ‘World Bank education strategy 2020’. Donors to education in Africa seem to focus on learning outcomes but they do not see that in order to improve learning outcomes, a key focus must be on support to the development and use of the most appropriate language of instruction and literacy from the learner’s perspective. The article discusses the ‘quality’ of education and the point is made that quality of education cannot be separated from the important question of which language should be used for education. Retaining the former colonial languages as languages of instruction may serve a small elite but works to the disadvantage of the majority of Africans. The language of instruction is a powerful mechanism for social stratification, increasing inequalities. Towards the end of the article the myth of the many languages in Africa is discussed.

           The background of this study is the uniqueness of the management zakat fitrah in Nuguk hamlet by giving to those considered to have a match or harmony, with the hope that the person receiving the zakat fitrah can become the mediator of health, tranquility for the life of muzakki in the future. This article is the result of qualitative field research with descriptive-analysis methods. The conclusion of this study is the management of zakat fitrah in Nuguk hamlet is performed with the classical management model, a model that’s still very simple with the way of muzakki delivering zakat fitrah to the ‘amil individually at their home respectively. The trust among the community in Nuguk hamlet is excessive and not following the ideal concept of shari’a. The management according to the al-Qur`an includes three important element, namely : collection  (Qs. At-Taubah [9] : 103), data collection and distribution (Qs. al-Baqarah [2] : 282 and Qs. At-Taubah [9] : 60), and utilization by using ‘traditional consumptive’ model, that’s zakat fitrah is directly distributed to mustahik through the ‘amil intermediary. The factors the contribute to the weaknesses of zakat fitrah management in Nuguk hamlet include : 1) low quality of education, and 2) oriented to the past management Abstrak            Latar belakang kajian ini adalah karena ada keunikan manajeman zakat fitrah di Dusun Nuguk, yaitu dengan cara menyerahkan kepada orang yang dianggap cocok atau serasi, dengan harapan orang yang menerima zakat fitrah tersebut dapat menjadi perantara kesehatan, ketenteraman bagi kehidupan muzakki dikemudian hari. Artikel ini merupakan hasil dari penelitian kualitatif lapangan dengan metode deskriptif-analisis. Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah manajemen zakat fitrah di Dusun Nuguk dilakukan dengan model manajemen klasik, yaitu suatu model manajemen yang masih sangat sederhana dengan cara muzakki menyerahkan zakat fitrah kepada ‘amil yang bersifat perorangan di rumah ‘amil masing-masing. Kepercayaan masyarakat Dusun Nuguk yang berlebihan kepada ‘amil dirasa kurang sesuai dengan konsep ideal syariat. Adapun manajemen menurut Alquran meliputi tiga unsur penting, yaitu : Pengumpulan (Qs. At-Taubah [9] : 103), Pendataan dan Pendistribusian (Qs. Al-Baqarah [2] : 282 dan Qs. At-Taubah [9] : 60, serta Pendayagunaan dengan menggunakan model ‘konsumtif tradisional’, yaitu zakat fitrah langsung didistribusikan kepada mustahik melalui perantara ‘amil. Faktor yang menyebabkan lemehnya mananjemen zakat fitrah di dusun Nuguk ada dua, yaitu : (1) Rendahnya mutu pendidikan, dan (2) Berorientasi pada manajemen masa lalu.
