The paper focuses on the theoretical issues of linguacultural studies / cultural linguistics / ethnolinguistics. The methodological aspects of revealing key cultural concepts in general and words of the year in particular are viewed. The quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the words of the year, determined within the Ukrainian linguacultural space, are analysed. Such Ukrainian words of the year as EuroMaidan, cyborg, blockade, corruption, visa-free travel are under analysis. Conclusions are made concerning the main problems of linguacultural studies / cultural linguistics / ethnolinguistics, as well as approaches to the detection of key cultural concepts and words of the year. Thus, an application of the frequency criterion allows to create a list of candidates for evaluation by experts or public; the frequency of words of the year should be compared with the frequency of neologisms, which makes it possible to predict the limits of frequency, detect candidates for the word of a year, taking into account so called important parts of the texts, as well as appearance of such words within hashtags, verbal parts of mems, cartoons. Ukrainian data shows, that the frequency of such words usage does not always correlate with announcing them words of the year. Not all words of the year have derivative potential. The conceptual content of such words increases, they are used metaphorically and become components of transformed phraseological and other types of intertext units; they are used as proper names. Creation of the new synonymic and antonymic relations is the optional characteristics of the studied words of the year.

The research analyses the main conceptual philosophical and methodological approaches to the comprehension of the property institute as a complex legal institution. The main philosophical and methodological aspects and concepts used in the study of the essence, legal nature and genesis of the property institute in the modern legal field are considered. The issue of the property institute in the context of philosophical analysis, its economic, legal, subjective and objective features and conceptual content are investigated. It is necessary to apply the main philosophical and methodological concepts while analyzing and studying of law in and of itself and the property institute in particular. This assertion is based on the fact that the relevance of philosophical comprehension of the law phenomenon as a whole, and certain legal phenomena in particular, is associated with both practical issues of the society’s development, and theoretical issues, directly related to the ideological and methodological support of law. It is established, that the fundamentality of the issue being solved in science is determined by the required degree of awareness of the integrity of scientific significance. Philosophical approach as a holistic form of methodological analysis can become a means of such awareness.

The article considers the issues of further development of the methodological base of comparative linguistic-conceptual studies, contrastive linguistics and lexicography. It describes and illustrates an integrated, comprehensive and holistic methodology of the lexical-conceptual-semantic analysis of one culturally significant fragment of the semantic space of English and Russian represented in this study by the cultural concept КУЛЬТУРНЫЙ ЧЕЛОВЕК / CULTURED PERSON. This analysis is presented in the form of a complete algorithm for the comparative study of the chosen national conceptual spheres (known in Russian Cultural Linguistics as conceptospheres). The algorithm includes a sequence of about 25 “steps” aimed to reveal step by step all the convergent and divergent characteristics of the lexical units that name the cultural concepts under study.

Strategic planning methods form an extensively developed and interrelated group of dozens of methods used for organisation strategy development. Research has confirmed that only a small amount of firms use strategic planning methods in practice due to different reasons. The publications on strategic planning are devoted mostly to theoretical issues or empirical characteristics of chosen sub‐problems related to this concept of management. The methodological aspects, if at all, are taken into account as marginal or of minor importance. The purpose of this article is to present the principles of strategic planning methods classification and application. The methodology used in this research is based on the taxonomy methods and particularly Ward's method. A total amount of 28 different strategic planning methods were chosen and classified in our study.

The main purpose of the article is to analyse the language and argumentation used by Polish politicians in debates on equality and gender equality rights. The material analysed in the article includes shorthand records gathered in the internet archives of the Sejm and the Senate during legislative works on the bill on the equal status of men and women. The conclusion, drawn after the analysis, supports the initial theses of the authors (Marek Czyżewski, Sergiusz Kowalski, Andrzej Piotrowski), who claimed that the basic “mode of public discourse” in Poland is the so-called “ritual chaos”, which manifests a lack of will of agreement and ostentatious self-presentation. During the debate the MPs defined the key words such as “equality” and “parity” in various manner, they marginalised the problem of discrimination of sexes and showed a lack of professionalism in their presentations. It was surprising to see one of the strongest voices against the bill presented by the representative of the “Platforma Obywatelska”, which normally claims liberalism and equality. Meanwhile, the most rational and balanced views and arguments for equality of rights for women were presented by a representative of the “Samoobrona”.

Eating habits formed at an early age will have different consequences throughout people's lives. For the first 6 months of life, it is recommended that the baby be exclusively breastfed, as breast milk is the only food that can satisfy all the nutritional and emotional needs of the baby during this period and provide an intense bond between mother and baby. In addition, there is a positive association between the duration of exclusive breastfeeding and a healthier diet in later childhood. Key words: food, eating habits, young children

Since 2001, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of scholarly monographs dedicated to religion and foreign relations. More scholars and policymakers agree that religion is an important feature of foreign affairs, regardless of whether one thinks it ought to be. While policymakers and scholars often discuss “religion” as a single “lens” for understanding the world, religious traditions do not exist in isolation from the political, economic, or social and cultural aspects of life. Tracing religious influences on U.S. foreign policy, then, can lead scholars in a variety of directions. Scholars researching religious influences in foreign policy could consider theologies and creeds of religious organizations and figures, the rhetoric and rituals of national norms and civic values, the intersection of “sacred” and “secular” ideas and institutions, the service of individual policymakers and diplomats, international legal or military defenses for or against specific religious groups, or public discourse about religion, to name but a few options. Advances in the study of religion and foreign policy will require collaboration and dialogue across traditional boundaries for disciplines, fields, and subfields. For many scholars, this means broadening research approaches and methods. Instead of prioritizing “first-” and “second-” order causes, for instance, historians and social scientists could move beyond cause-effect relationships alone, complicating U.S. foreign relations by considering intersectional experiences and interstitial explanations. Rather than looking for “the” univocal religious influence, scholars might pay greater attention to the multiplicity of “religious” influences on a given topic. This will likely occur by reading and researching beyond one specific area of expertise. It will also require attention to differentiating between institutional and “popular” or “lived” religion; recognizing the disparities between the official dogma of a religious affiliation and ethnographic and empirical data on religious practice; and giving attention to the underlying assumptions that occur when international organizations, national governments, and scholars choose to pay attention to certain forms of “religious” thought, behavior, and organizations and not others.

Abstract Being inspired by the Cognitive Theory of Metaphor (Lakoff and Johnson 2003) and the theory of Symbols in Language and Culture (Dobrovol’skij and Piirainen 1996), the current research article aims at analysis of metaphorical image components, symbolic motivational factors and cultural aspects which are associated with the socio-cultural concepts honour and dishonour in Hindi phraseological expressions. By analyzing the conceptualization of these socioculturally prevalent concepts, this research article attempts to explore the potential of marginalized Hindi phraseology for further theoretical contribution to the international phraseology research.

Teaching FFL lexicology: opening new approaches The main aim of this paper is to show major problems of modern lexicology as well as to improve the teaching of lexicology at the university by taking into account new theories that appeared at the end of the 20th century. Modern education requires the introduction of new terminology such as eponymy, enantiosemy, meronymy, etc., and the revision of the so-called classical theories and themes such as polysemy, semantic evolution, word formation or borrowing. It is also essential to introduce several topics and approaches including, above all, field theory, connotation theory, the problem of the concept, cognitive semantics, prototype theory and stereotype theory, linguistic and cultural aspects, semantic universals, etc. We seek to identify the main problems posed by the study of French vocabulary, to show the development of theories and lexical approaches during the 20th and the 21st centuries. It is thought that students should be provided with information on the new orientations and methods existing in contemporary linguistics, primarily semiotic, cognitive, discursive and contrastive, even if presented in different or even contradictory versions. At the same time, an overview of lexicology textbooks shows that several rather well-known phenomena remain on the margins of study; these include calques, international words, occasionalisms, semantic archaisms, etc. Therefore, adequate definitions of terms and their use, precise identification of their peculiarities within relevant paradigms in contemporary studies of lexicology are indispensable. Key words: lexicology; French; teaching; approach; theory of the word.
