The development of the Internet tool was accompanied by a business turnaround which has deep effects on the rules of marketing and particularly company-customers relationships. The graphical interface that the Web can create between the company and its customers promotes its use as a medium of marketing communication. The advantages of e-communication are endless for companies, including timeliness, cost and interactivity. However, users are daily confronted with large masses of information which may affect the issue of effectiveness of this communication form. Therefore, it is necessary to know whether the information transmitted is accessed and if it achieves the objectives associated with it. In other words, to what extent the internet communication is effective. In this research, efficiency is studied through two indicators: the advertising memorization and the click on the pop-up advertising. The empirical study was conducted on a sample of 200 Internet users. The statistical analysis used is descriptive analysis and logistic regression. The main empirical results show that memory is largely affected by the location in the screen, size and animated banner advertising. As for the "click", it’s related to the colors used in the banner, size and clarity of the message.

This study explains the internet usage among Iranian users. Therefore it has been tried to give basic answers to this question that: What is the Iranians main use for internet and not shopping online? Based on this, by thoroughly analyzing the literature of internet users and develop a comprehensive theoretical model, the use of internet was tested in the web domain. The results indicate that; there is a significant relation between the demographic variables (age, education) and the motivations for using the Internet, also results show that in Iran, men and women use the internet for more searching motivations, and one of the major reasons that Iranian users do not shop online is the mistrust to receive that product. This study was done on a descriptive–analytical basis and based on the achievements of this research, it was recommended to advertising agencies that by using the indicators identified how to make appropriate steps in order to provide online advertising.

BACKGROUND The Internet has become one of the most important sources of health information, accessed daily by an ever-growing number of both patients and physicians, seeking medical advice and clinical guidance. A deeper insight into the current use of the Web as source of information on epilepsy would help in clarifying the individual attitude towards this medium by Internet users. OBJECTIVE We investigated views towards the Internet in a sample of Italian healthcare specialists involved in epilepsy field, to explore factors which explained the influence of information found on the internet. METHODS This study was a self-administered survey conducted in a group of members of the Italian Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) in January 2018. RESULTS 184 questionnaires were analyzed. 97.8% of responders reported to seek online information on epilepsy. The Internet was most frequently searched to obtain new information (69.9%) or to confirm a diagnostic or therapeutic decision (37.3%). The influence of consulting the Internet on clinical practice was associated with registration to social network(s) (OR: 2.94; 95%CI: 1.28-6.76; p=0.011), higher frequency of Internet use (OR: 3.66; 95%CI: 1.56-9.21; p=0.006) and higher confidence in reliability of online information (OR: 2.61; 95%CI: 1.09-6.26; p=0.031). No association was found with age, sex, years in epilepsy practice or easiness to find online information. CONCLUSIONS Internet is frequently used among healthcare professionals involved in the epilepsy to obtain information about this disease. The attitude of being influenced by the Internet for diagnostic and/or therapeutic decisions in epilepsy is independent on age and years of experience in epilepsy, and probably reflects an individual approach towards the Web.

E-commerce and internet businesses are driving the rapid growth of the domestic IT-ITeS industry, attracting unprecedented global interest and funding. Indian e-commerce and internet companies are growing rapidly with about 460 million internet users and a tele-density of around 85.2%. Increasing penetration of the internet, adoption of smartphones and minimal effort low-cost mobile devices, changing demographics, mobile-empowered youth, and the emergence of tier 2 and tier 3 cities as major shopping hubs have been driving the growth of the industry, with new retail forces shifting its dynamics. Furthermore, the continued growth of large pure-play organisations that are powerhouses has moved retailers' focus to the web channel. These companies are not only becoming gateways to product research, but have also introduced consumers to new ways of viewing the retail process.

Abstract Searching for information on the web is regarded as a complex problem-solving activity involving a range of cognitive and affective processes. Anxiety is a key affective factor. In this article, we describe the construction and initial validation stages of the Information Retrieval on the Web Anxiety Rate (IROWAR) scale. The final structure of this inventory was validated with a sample of 183 English-speaking Internet users. Reliability analyses indicated that the factors were internally consistent (Cronbach’s alpha: 0.92). When we checked divergent validity, we found negative correlations with both self-efficacy and positive attitude towards the Internet. There were no effects of either sex or age on the total IROWAR score, but the Internet search anxiety sum score decreased with the length of use. This scale will be useful in several domains, including research on the determinants of web anxiety, individuals’ experience of web anxiety and ways of supporting them and Internet learning.

Marketing communication agencies are in the business of branding other companies. In the current media landscape, ad agencies need to demonstrate their communication expertise through the Internet including their homepages. This pilot study collected data and user impressions on the websites of 42 randomly selected small advertising agencies. Companies with 10 or fewer employees were of specific interest because of the limited resources they bring to the competitive process. We used content analysis to compare the studied sites with validated criteria for quality websites in seven categories. These areas addressed design, navigation, technology, functionality and content. The content areas concerned reputation, relationship-building opportunities and distinctive branding features. Researchers found mixed results concerning the key branding elements of clarity, competence and credibility, distinctive personality, and demonstrations of expertise. There seems to be room for small ad agencies to improve the way they brand themselves through their websites. The conference presentation shares preliminary findings on how well agencies did at validating their credentials, building relationships, and communicating clearly. Recommendations are offered.

Considering effective communication, linguists traditionally focus on the type of the addressee and the conditions of their interaction with the addresser. The paper analyzes some transformations of oral genres on the Internet, including public discussions on the role of Orthodox faith in modern life, the functions of the religion in the spiritual and moral education of the contemporary society and its relation to the scientific breakthroughs of the 21st century. The analysis of video materials shows that their main addressee is the youth audience. Thus, it determines the methods of argumentation chosen in public Internet communication. The YouTube program “I Don’t Believe in God: Talking to an Atheist” has guests of all ages and professions: clergy, scientists and popularizers of science, politicians, journalists, interpreters, doctors, artists, movie critics and bloggers. The speakers are obviously oriented toward the predicted audience, complicates philosophical issues are discussed using real-life examples and involving both logical and emotional arguments. The article also focuses on the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the conversation. Notably, a lively exchange of opinion boosts the Internet users’ attention and encourages the multidimensional interpretation of the views. A variety of perspectives sparks the youth interest in the discussed issues, facilitates critical thinking, inspires viewers to search for the truth themselves and to form sound judgments on religious faith and atheism. The results of the research may be used to improve students’ public speaking skills.

In this millennial age, Internet is becoming essential to human kind. Along with the growth of Internet users, information is also becoming huge and starting to cause difficulties to find the relevant contents. Thus, the recommender system was introduced. It helps the user to suggest the items based on the user’s preferences. This system could help the students as Calculus is one of the tough subjects feared by most students. Credits given to the technology as many sources on the web can provide tutorials, working examples and solutions on the subjects. However, there are too many of them. Students had to make a few selections, which one can fulfil their needs of specific calculus topics. The personalized recommender system developed was a content-based filtering recommender system with its own scraping engine to collect the sources from the Internet which focuses on the basic Calculus topics. The system and engine were constructed by using Flask framework together with its relevant libraries.

The marketing strategy continues to develop. Internet advertising is commonly referred to as e-marketing. Various e-marketing strategies can be done now, for example online advertising. Advertising that used to be offline is now utilizing the internet. One of the formats for online advertising is native ad. Native advertising is a digital advertising format that is still relatively new for online advertising. This study aims to explain how native advertising is used and see how consumers' attitudes towards evaluating native ads. It is recommended to see more than where the original ad can be effectively approved according to marketing objectives. This research uses descriptive analysis technique with random sampling data collection techniques to 420 respondents online. Obtained results from native advertisements that are supported and able to produce positive attitudes and behaviors that benefit marketers or ad owners. Respond to native ads that can provide good information, fun, useful, credible, and do not disturb.

In this essay, I mainly discuss the self-organizing property of the Internet communication system. As an important part of the human information communication system, Internet communication has progressively become a system with large scale, complex constructions, and perfect functions through the complicated interactions among many sub-systems and their elements. In this process, which is mainly promoted by Internet users, the self-growth of the Internet communica- tion system not only increases the amount of its sub-systems and its elements, it also strengthens its constructions and functions. At the same time, the self-growth of the Internet communication system indicates that the system is an evolving system with self-organizing property.

In recent years, digital marketing has transformed the way in which companies communicate with their customers around the world. The increase in the use of social networks and how users communicate with companies on the Internet has given rise to new business models based on the bidirectionality of communication between companies and Internet users. Digital marketing, new business models, online advertising campaigns, and other digital strategies have gathered user opinions and comments through this new online channel. In this way, companies have started to see the digital ecosystem as not only their present, but also as their future. From this long-term perspective, companies are concerned about sustainability and the growth of their business models. There are new business models on the Internet that support social causes, new platforms aimed at supporting social and sustainable projects, and digital advertising campaigns promoting sustainability. The overarching aim of this Special Issue was to analyze the development of these new strategies as well as their influence on the sustainability of digital marketing strategies. Therefore, we aimed to analyze how companies adopt these new technologies in a digital environment that is increasingly concerned with the sustainability of business models and actions on the Internet.
