Internet as a resource for solving the problems of adolescence: a review of psychological research

We analyzed psychological research that consider the Internet as a resource for solving the problems of adolescence. Based on the understanding of self-consciousness as a central adolescence new formation, we formulated a set of tasks of adolescence. It is shown that for the successful solution of age problems by teenagers on the Internet, specialized environments should be designed. Internet as a medium of teenagers’ socialization is characterized by a high degree of variety and uncontrollability. Behavior of adolescents on the Internet depends on the social and cultural context in which they live. The emergence of the Internet makes new demands on media competence of the teenager and his environment. Adolescents face online with a variety of risks. An essential resource for successful adolescent development is the presence of a person whom he trusts, with whom he can consult in difficult situations. The research plan involves the creation of Internet resources, contributing to the solution of teenagers’ problems age, as well as the mapping of the Internet in terms of its developmental potential.

This article invites us to reflect on oversharenting and family life that, owing to the proliferation of communications technology and the internet, is intersected by digital cyberculture. The research was carried out on the social network, using the method of searching by hashtag. The results showed that during 2018 in two weeks, 20,781 posts were made using the hashtag “minidiva” and 1,679 with the hashtag “miniblogger”, from which three posts were collected each day. Netnography was used to analyze the images and categorize them: (1) oversharenting and family life, (2) social media and child consumption, (3) child adultization. It was concluded that online social networks (Instagram) are spaces where interpersonal relationships; it was seen that the act of consuming gained relevance in the family and that the child’s exposure occurs without awareness, which can cause a high degree of exposure and consequently have adverse effects for everyone.

The article deals with the possibility of the usage of the content of social media in teaching the students of bachelor degree programmes in a higher school. The degree of impact of digital technologies on educational process is being followed with the focus on the necessity of substitution of line pedagogic technologies for the active usage of interactive and multimedia means of teaching. The critical analyses of some researches’ visions over the effectiveness of the Internet-resources used in pedagogics is introduced in the context of their studying the information and communicative technologies on the stage of their emergence. The highest authors’ appreciation of the pedagogic value of the Internet resources is highlighted as a high-quality possibility to boost the effectiveness of teaching. The meaning of the notion «social media» is revealed which are both digital technologies and the Internet resources. The types of social media are represented. The timely higher school pedagogues’ interest towards social media is explained as forms of teaching the students of bachelor degree programmes aimed at forming the professional qualities – creativity and communicative skills. The analyses of the usage of social media in teaching is given both of Russian and overseas reseachers. The results of empirical observation of the effective usage of the social media content in the teaching process of the students of bachelor degree programmes are performed, held inside the Presidential Academy, Institute for Social Sciences (Moscow).

The objective of the study is to examine the presentation of gastronomic culture in the infor-mation space. The task of the study is to analyze the current state of presentation of gastronomic culture in social networks. The main methods used for theoretical research were theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem as well as monitoring and generalization of social net-works that present gastronomic culture. Results & Conclusions. The current state of presentation of gastronomic culture in social networks is analyzed. It has been ascertained that gastronomic culture is represented by the diverse views of both professionals and amateurs; the internet vid-eos in social networks reflect not only the cultural status of the present, but also have an impact significantly on its formation and determine the system of evaluation and directions for devel-opment of culinary culture. Thus, they become a significant factor in formation and dissemina-tion of ideas about what the food and culture of its consumption should be. This gives grounds to state that cooking videos in the internet are now becoming one of the central and most effec-tive ways of establishing the norms of gastronomic culture in the society. The cooking videos should be considered as special forms of gastronomic presentation, closely connected to the dominants of socio-cultural context, which fix and disseminate the norms of gastronomic cul-ture, thereby ensuring its sustainability.

The paper deals with spousal rape, an act of violence with a high degree of social danger and the elements by which the perception of marital rape is determined by the social and cultural context, by the religious affiliation, by local traditions as well as by society’s mentality. The aim of the approach was to highlight the correlation between spousal rape and patterns of conduct induced by this phenomenon on the family level, resulting in consequences that affect the sexual freedom of the person, and restrict a person’s right to protection of psychic and mental health. The techniques used in the research applied were the counselling and semi-structured interview, applied between September and December 2020, to a number of 13 women who experienced incidents of rape by their partner. Thus, we can consider that this particularly serious phenomenon induces major damage to the personality of the victim, who may suffer from depressive disorder, sex life troubles, sleep deprivation, addictive disorders and eating disorder.

Addiction to and problematic use of the Internet are relatively recent phenomena whose scope, characteristics and correlates have begun to receive increasing attention by clinicians and researchers alike. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between time spent connected to the Internet and the variables that indicate a pathological and addictive use of this technological resource. The sample was comprised of 1,301 university students of both sexes (927 women and 374 men), with ages ranging from 18 to 30 years old. The results showed that, although most people use the Internet appropriately, users who invest higher quantities of time in the Internet more frequently exhibit connection behavior that is controlled through negative reinforcement, a high degree of arousal when online, loss of control over connection behavior, changes in health-related habits, and interference in the social, family, academic, or work spheres. These findings suggest that excessive Internet use is associated with the onset of several problems that are similar to those associated with other behavioral and technological addictions.

Social and cultural transformations determine the functioning of a disabled child’s family. The Internet, support groups or associations are the new normalisation tools parents can use. They can affect both the structure of his or her parenting as well as the process of coping in difficult situations. The author analyses the social and emotional situation of parents of children with disabilities, based on her research. They describe the significant categories and areas important for further scientific exploration.

This paper seeks to understand the social power of maternal shame, using a framework that integrates feminist criticism of contemporary motherhood ideologies with philosophical theories that discuss shame in the broader context of visual perception. By using Lionel Shriver’s (2005) novel We Need to Talk about Kevin, the paper illustrates how shame operates in the interplay between the socio-cultural, gendered ideals of motherhood and mothers’ representations of these ideals. Specifically, the paper suggests that today’s mothers operate under a social gaze that expects them to meet the cultural and moral standards of “good” motherhood. This internalized societal judging gaze and the perception of failing to meet these standards are often the source of maternal shame. In line with philosophical accounts which focus on the primacy of vision in shame, I argue that empathy (“seeing with the eyes of the other”) is the most powerful antidote to shame. While shame is induced by a judging gaze, empathy develops through connected gazes, each acknowledging the other’s subjectivity. Locating shame within a socio-cultural context can provide invaluable insights for psychological research and practice that pay critical attention to positionality, reflexivity, and the power relationships inherent in contemporary motherhood.

The article analyzes peculiar features of communication between users of specialized online forums devoted to motherhood. The point is considered within the framework of two approaches - linguistic (implying the analysis of the language specificity of virtual communication on the example of the mentioned Internet resources) and sociocultural (implying the analysis of the social and cultural factors of mother’s Internet forums’ emergence, predominant difference between “real” and “virtual” motherhood and the role of mentioned Internet resources in the formation of special feminine virtual subculture that has a significant impact on the perception of the modern concept of “motherhood” both in the Internet and beyond.

The purpose of the study was to create a methodological model of a differentiated learning process while making historical and cultural comments during the lessons in Literature and Literature-based reading. The differentiated approach should take into account not only the age, personal, psychological, and pedagogical characteristics of students, but also the literary and methodological aspects of the issue. When reading fiction, students often find it difficult to interpret historical or cultural realities, which require mastering the techniques of searching for reference information and the ability to make historical and cultural comments with the use of the Internet. The methodological foundation of the study consists of the works on differentiation in the theory of education and upbringing, the peculiarities of differentiated learning at Literature and Literature-based reading lessons, the methods of making historical and cultural comments while studying literary works of art, the Internet hypertext for the actualization of the intertextual nature of fiction. Making historical and cultural comments, students develop their metasubject and subject skills. In primary school, pupils learn to use various search methods of looking up in the Internet dictionaries and encyclopedias, to advance the culture of using reference sources, to better understand the contents of the books read, to know the initial techniques of interpreting a literary text. In secondary school, students learn to identify the lack of information and to extract the latter from various sources, to attain semantic reading minding historical realities while analyzing the text, to use ICT, observing the rules of information security. In high school, they should be able to carry out independent research, to take into account the historical and cultural context while analyzing the text, to possess the skills of complex philological analysis. Differentiated tasks while making historical and cultural comments on literary works with the use of the Internet resources contribute to the successful implementation of the metasubject and subject results indicated in the Federal state standards (National Curricula) of primary, secondary, and high education.
