Passenger transport is a basis in the transport system of any country. The task of transport is to provide an opportunity for every person to reach any point of our planet, not only safely, comfortably and quickly, but with little expenses. Aim: the arm of this study is to evaluate dynamics and share of transport expenses in population of the Russian Federation, and to study interrelation between figure of transport expenses of population and its transport mobility, and passenger transport fares. Methods: to achieve the set aim, such common scientific methods as observation, analysis, generalization, and analogy were used. Results: it is noted that transport expenses of the population increase at a slower pace than consumer spending. When considering the factors affecting the transportation costs of the population, it was determined that against the background of decreasing volumes of passenger traffic there is an increase in transportation tariffs. When comparing the indices of passenger tariffs and the consumer price index, a rapid increase in the cost of passenger traffic compared to prices for consumer goods was noted, which makes transport services less accessible to the public. Conclusion: The accelerating pace of life and economic realities today pose to transport companies certain tasks to ensure high speeds. High-speed ground transportation is coming to the fore, one of the types of which is a magnetic-vehicle transport, which, in addition to high speed, has certain advantages, such as safety, comfort, energy efficiency and high throughput. The development of new high-speed modes of transport, including a magnetic-casting, will ensure a high level of transport mobility and, accordingly, the country's economic development.

Various methods of collecting data on passenger traffic, their advantages and disadvantages are considered. It is shown that in order to improve the quality of transport services, it is necessary to regularly collect and refine data on passenger traffic. The goals and methods of obtaining information about passenger traffic in the system of municipal passenger transport are indicated. All currently existing methods are divided into three categories: data collection using technical means, data collection with the help of censors and volunteers, and interpretation of fare payments. All the methods presented in the article were compared in terms of labor intensity, costs and accuracy of the results obtained. The advantages and disadvantages of each method are considered. The general structure of an automated system for collecting data on passenger traffic is presented. The necessity of creating a centralized system for collecting and processing data associated with all passenger transport control systems has been substantiated. The tasks solved by this system at all levels of transport services for passengers are shown. Each of the tasks is assigned to one of three service levels: pre-transport, transport and post-transport. It is shown that only solving problems at all levels can ensure high-quality operation of the municipal passenger transport system.

Air travel routes and high speed rail connection between Milan and Rome after the Alitalia crisis This paper analyses the first available data about changes in passenger traffic and air/rail fares after the Alitalia crisis and the substantial reduction of the travel time between Milan and Rome, due to the improvement of high speed rail on this connection. As recently happened in similar cases within Europe, the rail has gained a significant share of traffic previously attracted by air transport services. Apart from that, a real price competition is prevented by a number of inefficiencies which are mainly due to the monopolistic position of the new Alitalia on the route Milan Linate-Rome Fiumicino and problems of accessibility affecting our airports, and partly our rail stations too. The role of the various authorities potentially involved is burdened, in the last instance, by infrastructural deficiencies.

The article analyses the volume of passenger traffic from 1990 to 2019 for land, water and air transport. From the materials obtained and the experience of the networks of European and world high-speed railways, goals are set. High-speed lines designed exclusively for passenger traffic. This moment plays an important role in reducing the cost of construction, increasing the market and economic profitability. According to the data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, it is possible to calculate the passenger flow based on the known parameters for 2020–2032 in the direction of Kiev–Lviv. The design of high-speed lines should meet general requirements aimed at satisfying the basic characteristics of a high-speed railway system, which works in conjunction with the European High-Speed Railway network. The compatibility of the parameters of high-speed lines with the parameters of traditional lines is part of the operational requirements for the gradual introduction of a network of high-speed railways. Possible scenarios to achieve the required compatibility should cover all subsystems.

The brief analysis of publications in the field of transport development, the organization and management of urban passenger traffic in the conditions of constantly changing passenger traffics is carried out. The efficiency of using logistic methods is proved by optimization of public passenger transport of the megalopolis. The factors influencing regularity of passenger traffics formation and their dynamic spatial distribution taking into account the main communications between passenger formed points and service providers are revealed. For improvement of traffic flows management the relevance of development of new mathematical models and methods considering relationship of cause and effect between the input and output parameters is established. Methods of solving large-size problems in the conditions of difficult criterion function are considered. Advantages and the prospects of meta-heuristic methods application – genetic algorithms – are shown at the solution of the transport tasks characteristic of unstable streams. For solving the objective using a set of genes is proposed which elements represent a chromosome with a certain set of decisions. Restrictions are formulated and operators of casual changes for a work of genetic algorithm are defined. The algorithm allowing to define and range the key input parameters influencing process of providing transport services and to receive parameters for the output correlation analysis is obtained.

The relevance of the problem is due to the lack of a method and indicators for assessing the level of transport mobility of cities. The purpose of the article is to develop a method for assessing the level of transport mobility. Currently, there are no science - based criteria for assessing the level of mobility in terms of the convenience of passengers using various types of public transport for travel. The use of the transport mobility index will contribute not only to improving the quality of passenger transport, but also to improving the level of transport services in General. The developed method for assessing the level of transport mobility will allow you to study the dynamics of changes in indicators and plan measures to improve the quality of transport services. The implementation of the proposed method will allow analyzing routes, as well as planning measures to increase the level of transport mobility and the attractiveness of public transport for passenger transportation.

Passenger transport today runs significantly faster than some decades ago and often operates on separate tracks especially constructed for high speed trains. As rolling bearings are very important components in the bogies of trains they have to be suitably designed for high speed. The maximum train speeds reach up to 380 km/h (236 mph) for the latest high speed applications which are 80% higher than in the earlier days of high speed traffic. The paper presents a couple of application examples of modern high speed traffic together with some typical bearing arrangements and housings. It gives some insight into measures taken in the bearing industry to meet the requirements of contemporary high speed traffic and it mentions important standards and regulations applicable for, but not restricted to European applications. The main focus is on journal bearings. Information on traction motor bearings, transmission bearings and housings is included but described in less detail.

One of the characteristics of knowledge workers is their high level of mobility. The cost of labour turnover of these key resources is high in both financial and non financial terms. There is thus a need to understand what the factors are that underpin the retention cognitions of knowledge workers. Data was collected from 306 knowledge workers in full time employment representing a wide range of demographic groupings. The results showed that job satisfaction and organisational commitment do not predict knowledge workers’ proposed future length of service.Factor analysis revealed seven underlying dimensions of retention cognitions. Cluster analysis revealed nine distinct clusters of knowledge workers with regard to their retention cognitions. High levels of individualism, need for challenge and focus on personal development were demonstrated. The implications of these findings are discussed.

The rapid significant increase in the quality of the process of passenger transportation by Kyiv public transport can be a powerful motivation to increase the frequency of its use. However, the parameters of the desired change in the quality of urban transport remain unknown, which leads to its chaotic management. Two trends in urban passenger traffic quality research are common. The first approach deals with measuring the operating parameters of the transport system, and the second one focuses on the research of customers' opinions regarding transport services. However, none of the scientists focuses fully on the specific human behavioral responses to the quality of the city's passenger transportation service, when urban transport is opposed to a private car. Because of this, the assessment of the quality of urban passenger transport requires the development of special tools. It is already clear today that not all traditional approaches used in studies of transport behavior that depend on the quality structure may be suitable for this.
