Prelingually deaf children with cochlear implants (CIs) have about 2 to 5 times more risk for delays in specific domains of executive functioning (EF) than normal-hearing (NH) children, with about 25% to 40% of children with CIs showing delays in specific EF subdomains. This chapter reviews the rationale and evidence for two theoretical approaches to explaining this elevated risk for EF delay: language-focused approaches and biopsychosocial systems theories, such as the auditory neurocognitive model. Research supporting language-focused approaches, which attribute risk of EF delays entirely to language delays, has significant limitations. Furthermore, results from an extensive data set of EF outcomes in CI users are inconsistent with language-focused approaches. In contrast, biopsychosocial systems theories, which attribute risk for EF delay to a system of factors, including auditory experience, language, family environment/experiences, fluid intelligence, and psychosocial influences, provide the strongest evidence and potential for explaining EF delays and outcomes in children with CIs.

Objective: To explore the possibility of false diagnosis and threat to health. Methods: In  the  present  study,  a  case  history  of  23-year–old  lactating  woman  was  taken.  Seventy-two  test  parameters  were  examined  at  SRL  Lab Gurugram and Thyrocare Mumbai on alternative days from different location under variable climatic and family environment. Results: The tests report of SRL lab was abnormal in range in compare to the reports of Thyrocare Lab. Conclusion: The present study is expected to attract the attention of people who may be in the position of acquiring health services. In such approach,  incidence  of  false-positive  laboratory  reports  either  due  to  technical  errors  or  patient  own  conditions  is  thought  to  misguide  a  clinician  who  may  prescribe wrong medicines to the patient. This type of mistake may invite unwanted and life-threatening threats to the patients’ body if inappropriate  or wrong drugs are given to the patient. Through this study, it is now suggested to be cautious and should verify before taking any drugs suggested by  clinicians.  Once  a  diagnosis  is  confirmed  and  considered  repeatedly,  the  development  of  adverse  health  effects due  to  unwanted  drugs  can  be minimized. Keywords: Diagnosis, Treatment, Drugs, Laboratory reports.

Worldwide, many children do not meet their developmental potential. This is particularly the case in LMICs and especially affects children living with disability. Thus, improving developmental attainment and reducing the impact of disability has now become an integral part of many of the sustainable development goals. This chapter introduces several tools currently available to measure both childhood development, and the effects of disability. Using examples from current research in global health this chapter introduces both known effective intervention strategies that improve developmental outcomes, and highlights challenges and future priorities for further research. These points are further illustrated using epilepsy as a case study, highlighting how the interaction of biomedical, psychosocial, and socioeconomic factors impacts on childhood development.

The study was intended to reveal the single homeschooling implementation of families with differences in maternal professions (career women and housewives) as primary educators. The research applied qualitative approach with the type of case study through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis was completed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicated that single homeschool learning is based on the national education standard curriculum in Indonesia, but carried out in a family environment according to children autonomy. Homeschooling in Indonesia also follows an equivalent educational program to obtain a certificate so that the graduate competencies of homeschooling students are recognized as the same as those of formal schools. Equivalent educational programs are part of non-formal education consisting of “Package A” (equal to elementary school), “Package B” (equal to junior high school), and “Package C” (equal to senior high school). Homeschooling learning takes place more flexibly, familiarizing children to be independent and responsible for learning decisions. Homeschooling presents learning based on children’s talents and interests so that it can be an alternative education in Indonesia.

Prior to basic education with an age range of 6 or 7, and 8 or 9 years was a vulnerable period of cognitive, psychological, and emotional development. Children need education that can form good character and can reflect Christian values in their lives. The shift in the pattern of parental education as the first educational environment due to busy parents allows the lack of inculcation of character in the family environment. Schools become the foundation of hope for the formation of children's character in preparing generations in the millennial era. In the education process, indicators of success in learning methods are students enthusiastic about the lesson, happy, a change in thinking and attitudes of the learner's own will. Humans have a tendency for self-actualization because humans move forward to perfection or potential. Each individual has the creative ability to solve the problem. Religious humanist education contains two educational concepts that we want to integrate, namely humanist education and religious education. Integrating these two educational concepts with the aim of being able to build an education system that can shape the character of millennial generation through Christian Education. This type of research is an intrinsic case study (Intrinsic case study). Researchers focus on one particular object and are appointed as a case for in-depth study. so as to discover the reality behind the phenomenon. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that religious humanist education in Christian education has linear compounds, so the formation of the character of children, especially in this millennium era will be very tested when the religious humanist approach to Christian education can be actually carried out by educators and or educational institutions (Christian).
