Purpose: to evaluate the influence on the state of the eye surface and the tear-producing system of decorative cosmetics and cosmetic products with different chemical bases for removing makeup.Patients and methods. The study included 45 (90 eyes) persons without clinical signs of an acute inflammatory process of the eye surface, they were prescribed the use of one of the Biore products: 15 people — makeup removal wipes, 15-micellar water, 15-makeup removal serum. The results of the objective (biomicroscopy, tests for lacrimal production) and subjective examinations are included in the questionnaires developed and standardized for this study (3 visits after the start of the use of cosmetics, 14, 30 days after the start of their use).Results. There were no significant differences (p > 0.5) between the groups that used makeup remover products on different bases — makeup remover serum, micellar water, makeup remover wipes — in all the patients included in the study. Patients with signs of a chronic inflammatory process on the eye surface and dry eye syndrome are less tolerant of makeup remover, which is manifested in a lower subjective assessment of these products after their use compared to patients without signs of an inflammatory process (p < 0.5). A correlation was determined at r = 0.3085, p = 0.0392 between the skin type and the Schirmer test parameters, exactly, the more oily the skin, the higher the Schirmer test parameters, it indicates a possible relationship between the skin type and the functional activity of the tear-forming glands, which indicates the need for further research in this area. The absence of a correlation (p > 0.5) between objective and subjective parameters that characterize the state of the eye surface and the tear-producing system, as well as the number of hours per day when decorative cosmetics are used, indicates that prolonged use of this type of exposure does not lead to the development of a pathological process on the eye surface.

The article presents an assessment of the dynamics of changes in the content of the marker of collagenolysis – free oxyproline in the homogeniate of soft tissues and bone in experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis and elucidation of the effect of flavonol quercetin on these indicators. The aim of this study was to determine the role of cytokinogenesis and the effect of flavonol on it in the pathogenesis, development and course of experimental periodontitis. During the experiment, a fragment of the mandible was taken from the animals, from which the soft tissues and bone were carefully separated. The state of collagen was determined by the content of free oxyproline in the soft and bone tissues. The concentration was determined according to the calibration graph and expressed in μmol/g. The results of studies of the indicators of the state of biopolymers of connective tissue structures of periodontium on the 7th, 14th and 30th day of experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis and after its correction with flavonol (from the 7th to the 14th day of the experiment) are presented. The data on the nature of changes in the content of collagen monomers in the process of formation of the inflammatory focus in the periodontal complex are given. During the acute phase of the inflammatory process in rats there was revealed a slight increase in blood free oxyproline in bone homogenate and homogenate of soft periodontal tissues, on the 14th day the dynamics continued to increase, at a later stage of the experiment, namely on the 30th day, increase in bone resorption continued  as compared to the 7th and 14th day. During the correction of disorders resulted from  the development of this pathological process there was a decrease in the level of free oxyproline in the bone homogenate and homogenate of soft tissues of mandibular periodontium, as compared to the same indicators of animals who did not receive quercetin on the 14th day. The use of flavonol quercetin, which, by affecting immune processes, limited the inflammatory response in periodontal tissues and stabilized collagenolysis processes in periodontal tissues was manifested by a decrease in free oxyproline in bone and soft tissue homogenates of experimental animals.

The objective: to study the psychological characteristics of women’s status in one of the most common complications of pregnancy - the threat of termination of pregnancy, depending on the level of stress load. Patients and methods. We have studied the psychological status (the Holmes-Rahe level of psychosocial stress, the Spielberg-Hanin level of anxiety, V.I.Dobryakov’s related to a pregnancy test, diagnosis of psychological defense mechanisms, assessment of quality of life) 60 pregnant women with threat of premature birth in the third trimester of pregnancy. Surveyed women were divided into 2 groups: group 1 included 30 pregnant women – forced migrant of Donetsk and Lugansk area and 2 group – 30 pregnant women who resided in Kiev. Results. At the same clinical picture of the threat of premature birth we detected discrepancy between the subjective assessment of their condition in women – forced migrants: a high level of situational and personal anxiety, decrease in physical (physical functioning, role-physical functioning) and psychological (social functioning, role emotional functioning) health, doubtful and pathological subtypes of gestational dominant. This creates prerequisites for complications of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum future period and requires the participation of psychologists in the work with this category of patients. Conclusion. So, revealed a discrepancy between the objective clinical signs similar obstetric pathology (on the example of threatened abortion) in pregnant women with different levels of stress load and their subjective evaluation of their condition that affects their psychological status. This should be reflected in individually tailored therapy and be mainstreamed into the work of obstetricians and gynecologists with these patients, and requires mandatory participation of psychologists in the work with this category of patients. Key words: pregnancy, the threat of premature birth, stress, psychological status.

During a pathoanatomic autopsy, it is very important to correctly assess the color change of the organs. However, it is not always clear because the color depends on the spectrum of the incident light. There is also a subjective assessment of color. In addition, in animals with large amounts of circulating blood, for example, dogs, early imbibition occurs, which makes it difficult to assess the color of the organ and pathoanatomical diagnosis. We have proposed a simple and visual method of recognition of two pathological processes – inflammation and edema using colored filters. This technique also allows to accurately differentiate inflammation from postmortem imbibition, to recognize fibrin and hemorrhage well. Postmortem examination of different types of animals (predacious families of mustelids, canids, felids) was performed in accordance with Shore’s method in the prosectorium of the Pathonomy Department, K.I. Skryabin Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology visual analysis – under various artificial lights (fluorescent lamps with banded spectrum and halogen lamps). In the red filter are well identified the pathological processes associated with the venous blood presence in the tissues (venous hyperemia and pulmonary edema). The focus of venous hyperemia or edema in the red filter looks like a dark zone, and tissues, where arterial bloods predominated, aren’t detected in red filter. In the yellow – green filter the inflammation is clearly detected: the zone is brightly red and surrounding tissues become dark. Red colour filters have rather narrow band of transmittance from 600 to 700 nm. Yellow-green have a width zone – from 500 to 700 nm, including both red, and yellow-green part of spectrum. Oxidized hemoglobin in red part of spectrum absorbs ten time weaker, has more high reflectivity and looks red. Surrounding tissues reflect the red rays, which incident on them also red. Therefore, the zone of edema, venous hyperemia and hemorrhaging, containing venous blood, are detected the dark spot, and inflammation zone merges with the red background. Oxidized hemoglobin in the red spectrum part absorbs ten time weaker than reduced hemoglobin, has high reflectivity of the red spectrum part and looks brightly red, surrounding tissues reflect yellow-green spectrum part and look green. Therefore, the zones of inflammation, active hyperemia and hemorrhaging, containing arterial blood, sharp contrast with green background and are clearly visible. Diagnoses made with the help of color filters are confirmed by histological studies.

The COVID-19 pandemic examines not only the state of actual health care but also the state of fundamental medicine in various countries. Pro-inflammatory processes extend far beyond the classical concepts of inflammation. They manifest themselves in a variety of ways, beginning with extreme physiology, then allostasis at low-grade inflammation, and finally the shockogenic phenomenon of “inflammatory systemic microcirculation”. The pathogenetic core of critical situations, including COVID-19, is this phenomenon. Microcirculatory abnormalities, on the other hand, lie at the heart of a specific type of general pathological process known as systemic inflammation (SI). Systemic inflammatory response, cytokine release, cytokine storm, and thrombo-inflammatory syndrome are all terms that refer to different aspects of SI. As a result, the metabolic syndrome model does not adequately reflect the pathophysiology of persistent low-grade systemic inflammation (ChSLGI). Diseases associated with ChSLGI, on the other hand, are risk factors for a severe COVID-19 course. The review examines the role of hypoxia, metabolic dysfunction, scavenger receptors, and pattern-recognition receptors, as well as the processes of the hemophagocytic syndrome, in the systemic alteration and development of SI in COVID-19.

Microbial eczema (ME) is a chronic inflammatory process prone to recurrence, the treatment of which is associated with a number of difficulties due to the ever increasing antibiotic resistance of the microorganisms that cause it. Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP), like ultraviolet irradiation, has a pronounced bactericidal effect, but unlike the latter, it does not have undesirable effects on healthy cells. The article presents a clinical observation of the successful use of CAP in the treatment of severe ME in a 3-year-old child.

Often, the employers allocate funds for occupational safety on the residual principle without considering the real needs in creating safe working conditions for the employees. This is especially topical for the small and medium-sized enterprises, whose budget, as a rule, does not allow to allocate sufficient funds for occupational safety. The substantiation is given concerning the need to improve modern systems for assessing the state of working conditions by integrating the missing elements, which are part of similar systems, selected during the analysis of domestic and foreign studies. In the critical review of foreign publications in the field of assessing the state of working conditions, the tools developed over the past 15 years are considered. The lines of business are selected related to the improvement of system for assessing the state of working conditions at the small and medium-sized Russian enterprises. To determine the most optimal methods, an algorithm is proposed for selecting the tools to assess the state of working conditions based on determining the efficiency parameter corresponding to each tool. Modern Russian methods are assessed in a similar way. As a result of the study, two tools for assessing the state of working conditions that are most optimal for small and medium-sized enterprises are selected. The analysis showed that the first selected method allows to assess the state of the personnel working conditions, i.e., gives a subjective assessment. The second method serves for an objective study of the estimated parameters, as well as for assessing the level of occupational hazard. Combined use of both tools can become the basis for the formation of a methodology for a comprehensive assessment of the state of working conditions at the small and medium-sized enterprises.

ABSTRACT: Populations of green-winged saltators, Saltator similis, are decreasing especially because of illegal trade and infectious diseases. We describe natural cases of an extraintestinal isosporoid coccidian in caged S. similis, and suggest the need of preventive measures in handling these birds. Nonspecific clinical signs were seen in all of them, however, intracytoplasmic Atoxoplasma sp. was found in peripheral blood, reinforcing the idea of systemic isosporosis. Leukocytosis with high number of heterophils and monocytes suggested that atoxoplasmosis in green-winged saltators can progress as an acute disease. The birds showed clinical improvement after treatment. Handling recommendations were proposed to upgrade hygienic conditions of the facilities. We concluded that nonspecific symptoms and an acute inflammatory process can be associated with atoxoplasmosis in young S. similis. We emphasize the importance of blood smear to detect merozoites.

The purpose of the research was to determine morphological and urodynamic changes of supravesical urinary tract in patients after cystileoplastics. Methods. CT studies in the late postoperative period in 19 patients after radical cystectomy, combined with vesiculoprostatectomy and cystoileoplastics and malignant lesions of the bladder were performed. Results. None of cases revealed signs of continued growth. In 57% of the cases it was evidence of lymphadenopathy in the absence of negative dynamics of the underlying disease. No dependence of the state of anastomoses of the volume formed by the reservoir and the degree of shortening of the ureter was found. In assessing the state of supravesical urinary tract 11 from 19 (57,8%) patients were registered varying degrees of severity gidroureteronephrosis, and in 4 patients, pelvic ureteric reflux. All patients with urodynamic disorders identified "new bladder" had less volume than patients who did not have these disorders. Conclusion. CT study is the method of choice in the evaluation of supravesical urinary tract after cystoileoplastics for timely prevention of complications of an inflammatory process. It was revealed that the degree of changes in the urinary tract depending of the volume of the reservoir formed, requires further analysis.

Constrictive pericarditis is the final stage of a chronic inflammatory process characterized by fibrous thickening and calcification of the pericardium that impairs diastolic filling, reduces cardiac output, and ultimately leads to heart failure. Transthoracic echocardiography, computed tomography, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging each can reveal severe diastolic dysfunction and increased pericardial thickness. Cardiac catheterization can help to confirm a diagnosis of diastolic dysfunction secondary to pericardial constriction, and to exclude restrictive cardiomyopathy. Early pericardiectomy with complete decortication (if technically feasible) provides good symptomatic relief and is the treatment of choice for constrictive pericarditis, before severe constriction and myocardial atrophy occur. We describe our surgical approach to constrictive pericarditis, summarize our results in 93 patients, and provide a brief overview of the literature.

The paper shows the results of electrophysiological methods of investigation in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) in the aspect of comorbidity. The studies of somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP) in 216 patients with MS and electroneuromyography in 158 patients with MS, together with the assessment of neurological and psychological status. It is shown that according SSEP increase latency peripheral response in a progressive course of MS compared to remitting associated with older age of patients with progressive MS, and due to involvement in the pathological process of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) and the prevalence of pain syndrome (PS) in patients MS with comorbidity. It is demonstrated, on the basis of electroneuromyographic that MS patients with comorbidity tends to be deeper shock PNS. The data electroneuromyographic clinically appropriate initial stage of sensory or sensorimotor polyneuropathy, which proceeded in 84.8% of patients with MS subclinical and 15.2% had a clear clinical signs.
