Reading proficiency is considered as one of the language skills that must be mastered by prospective Arabic educators or practitioners. Besides, in the era of industry 4.0, students not only require core competencies from the field of study they are studying but also have a lifelong character of a learner. The conditions found in the field, as well as in previous studies, showed that learning in higher education currently tends to be centred on lecturers rather than on the students. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the implementation of a student-centred learning method in the form of a problem-based learning method with seven-jumps (seven-steps) approach in increasing the reading proficiency in Arabic. The subjects of this research were 50 people of Muthala’ah Mukatsafah class, and the test and non-test were employed as instruments. The reading proficiency test prepared by the researcher was used to figure out the subjects’ reading ability. Meanwhile, the subjects’ characters or soft skills were measured through a non-test instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The design applied in this study was a group design (one group pretest-posttest design). The data analysis was performed through a significance test before and after treatment. The results show that there are differences in the subjects’ advanced reading proficiency level as well as an increase in empathy soft skill before and after the implementation of the learning method.

Emotion is a feeling that arises in students, both positive and negative, a phenomenon that often occurs in schools that there are still students who have negative emotions, such as being angry with friends in class, in this study students should be able to regulate emotions so as not to have a negative impact on themselves nor other people. This study aims to increase the emotional quotient of class X and XI students. This research is experimental research, the type of research used is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The number of samples of  60 people who are categorized as low on the student's emotional quotient, the class sample is divided into two groups: 1) the experimental group of 30 people and 2) the control group of 30 people. The instrument used was a anemotional quotient questionnaire. The results of the emotional quotient show that there is an increase in the emotional quotient of students between the experimental group before and after the treatment of information services using the problem-based learning method is carried out, there is an increase in the emotional quotient of the control group students before and after being provided with information services without the problem-based learning method, there is a significant difference in the level students' emotional quotient between the experimental group that was provided with information services using the problem-based learning method and the control group that was provided with information services. Thus, information services using problem-based learning methods are effective in increasing students' emotional quotient.

Reading is receptive or accepting activity. The reading activity of some students is considered not a necessity or a necessity. In fact, reading activities need to be taught or familiarized as early as possible. The ability to read does not come alone, suddenly, or just come, but requires a process of practice or practice continuously, and has a clear purpose. A person who has good reading skills will think critically and have good understanding. The obstacles experienced by students in reading are students who consider reading trivial or trivial things. Then, students only carelessly read or did not have a clear purpose. There are several causes of low student reading ability, namely the lack of examples or exemplary parents or teachers in reading books, lack of reading material, environmental factors, and effective education strategies or reading techniques. Learning in the 2013 curriculum implements a scientific approach. The scientific approach is an approach that focuses on science, facts, phenomena, and context. Some learning models that use a scientific approach such as discovery learning, project based learning, problem based learning, and inquiry learning. In optimizing reading learning requires an effective approach or model. One of them is the scientific approach with a problem based learning model. The problem based learning model requires students to think critically in solving problems in both learning and everyday life. The research design used in this study used a pre-experimental design with type one group pretest posttest design. In the application of the one-group pretest-posttest design there is the application of pretest or initial test before treatment and posttest or test given treatment with a problem based learning model. Then, the results before and after given treatment are compared to find out the effectiveness of the problem based learning model in learning to read the description text in class VII-E students of SMP Negeri 6 Subang. Stages of statistical calculations start from searching for the average value, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The average pretest is 53.3, while the posttest average value is 73.1. From the results of the average value before and after it can be compared that there is a difference in value of 19.8. The normality test is known that the pretest significance value is 0.200, while for the posttest value is 0.200. The homogeneity test can be seen from the significance value of the pretest and posttest is 0.342. Hypothesis testing the significance value of pretest and posttest is 0,000. So, there is a difference between the average test scores before and after being treated with a competitive approach with the problem based learning model in reading the description text.

This paper aims at considering the well-known triad of What? How? Why? somewhat anew by suggesting looking at transformational leadership for successful human resources management through the lens of coaching core competencies as the key soft skill. Arising as the strategic approach to the effective management of people, well-thought human resources management that rests on a leadership model definitely enables management of a company or organization to move ahead of the curve and gain a firm foothold in the job market. The transformational leadership model fits the framework of the research and links to the contrastive line between management and leadership. It is emphasized that management processes focus on (i) maintaining and (ii) improving performance at work, on the one hand, and on the other, unlike management, the transformational leadership model focuses on the benefits of visionary thinking and bringing about change. Following the goal in the subject matter associated with successful HR management, the Golden Circle of What? How? Why?introduced by Simon Sinek finds its way in the description analysis. The Why? sectionopens the idea for successful HR managementto move further to What?section and is accompanied with How? section in the end. The final part of the findings embodies 11 current core competencies of coaching, which illustrate how the ways of implementing the soft skills in workplace may increase HR performance, enhance seamless communication among employees and management, drive change and welcome innovation. The four objectives for successful HR management: (i) drive change within a company or organization, (ii) encourage and motivate people for personal and corporate growth and development, (iii) employ innovation including modern technologies, and (iv) lead by example, correspond to the four cornerstones in the framework for successful company or organization management via transformational leadership. They are: (i) create an inspire vision of the future for the company’s (organization’s) employees, (ii) motivate the staff to live by and deliver the vision, (iii) manage delivery of the vision, (iv) attract and retain high-class professionals and young talents, build up strong and competitive teams, create and grow ever-stronger, trust-based relationships with the employees. The toolkit of ways, techniques and approaches may derive from the current core competencies in coaching that can be groupedsimilarly to the ICF ones as follows: (i) foundation, (ii) co-creating the relationship, (iii) communicating effectively, and (iv) cultivating learning and growth.

This paper presents a smartphone application game that aims to increase the awareness of preschoolers on renewable energy. The age of the selected preschoolers is in the range of 4-6 years. The game is called DAYSAM, and it aims to increase awareness regarding photovoltaic arrays, wind turbines, mini-hydropower stations, energy efficiency, and risks that polar bears are facing. The game provides two superior features compared to other available games in Arabic language, targeting the same age group. Preschoolers from An-Najah Child Institute are selected to play this game to investigate the impact of this game. The preschoolers’ awareness is tested before and after playing the game using coloring sheets in an unsupervised coloring process. The results show that the proposed game has increased preschooler’s awareness of renewable energy. Before playing the game, none of the preschoolers recognized images like the photovoltaic array or the wind turbine. After playing the game the preschoolers recognized these devices in different situations and shapes. This indicates that such a game can be used as a fun and educational tool in nurseries that have Arabic communication medium to increase awareness of renewable energy.
