The phenomenon of the informational environment of subcultures is reviewed as the aggregate of a specific set of knowledge, evaluations of the outside environment, terminology and slang that may be formed in its potential carriers, including artificially, which is important to raise efficiency of prevention of the involvement of citizens in extremist and terrorist organizations. It is noted that the minimum required set of attributes is more often formed artificially for gradual involvement of citizens in this or that subculture. The threshold of resistance to the involvement in a subculture is significantly lowered following gradual habituation to the use of a specific set of attributes by their imposing or inducement for voluntary use. This phenomenon is successfully tested by political strategists in many countries of the world including on the example of color revolutions. Mass media and telecommunications often act as a guiding force for such actions. The mechanism of manipulation of historical and other events, distortion of actual events is used to reinforce the required suggestions and raise the impact of attributes. The authors justify the need for timely identification of attributes of extremism and terrorism subcultures in the informational environment including mass media. As one of practical measures, it is suggested to increase the liability of mass media and other public informational resource owners for reliability of distributed data, disallowing intentional distortion of historical facts, events, phenomena of public life and their unproven and especially intentionally distorted interpretations.

With its blends of Amerindian, African and European sources, Brazil has one of the richest and most diverse musical cultures in the world. Primitive tribal musics flourish in the Amazon, rural and urban regions practise many folk/traditional forms, and cosmopolitan art music has been produced since before the time of Villa-Lobos. Various musics that can be considered popular reflect both this wide national spectrum and the impact of international mass media pop music. Here, a description of the major tendencies in contemporary urban popular music of Brazil will be followed by bibliographical and discographic indications for further study or research.

Media coverage of economic reforms and important political changes is the main reason why investors in other states show interest in the country. As a result, it is possible to achieve a multiple increase in the inflow of foreign investments. The investment of foreign investors in the national economy depends not only on the rating of enterprises or on the results of economic activity, but also on the geopolitical location of the country and its domestic and foreign policy. Investors choose the most stable countries to invest capital. That is why all countries around the world are trying to do as much as possible to minimize investment risks. Like all countries in the world, Uzbekistan is making a lot of efforts to improve the attractiveness of the investment climate in the national economy. In particular, in recent years, a special attention has been paid to the investment policy of the Republic. At the same time, mass media in Uzbekistan are trying to spread the information about the great achievements of the country to the world. In this process, modern technologies of national mass media, in particular the Internet and satellite capabilities are being used. However, it would be desirable to increase the effectiveness of the existing information capacity, strengthen mechanisms for enhancing the country's image in the global media space.

Many terrorist organizations around the world seek shelter in forests and this paper tries to address the impact of this phenomenon on forest conservation. We construct a framework to measure the social loss when a terrorist lives in the forest and has full control over the forest resources. We also consider a game between the terrorists and the government when the government tries to combat them to recover the social loss. We characterize the equilibrium of the game in which the terrorist chooses the optimum rotation length of the forest and the government chooses the optimum combat-effort. We derive the impact of two popular policy measures such as strengthening the combat operations and restricting the sale of timber by the terrorist groups in the market, on forest conservation and find both to be negative.

The media have a strong influence on public life in general, as well as on moral and socio-psychological image of every member of society in particular because any new information, broadcasted by media, directs in a certain way and contains repeated stereotypes of political orientations and values, self-reinforcing in the minds of individuals. Mass media has a powerful impact on the consciousness of every member of society, and is an effective influence on emotions of the individual, means of operative delivery of the selected information in different “territorial nooks” of any regions of the planet. The most demonstrative example is electronic media. Today, the impact of the media on the individual has increased much more. The article discusses the forms and ways of the impact of modern digital media on people, groups, and society as a whole. The unilateral communication effect on a person is emphasized. The accent is made on the transmission model of information dissemination, taking into account the formation of its ritualized form. The author pays his particular attention to the status and role of an individual in interaction with mass media; provides arguments about the exclusion of a person from the communication dimension. The activity of modern digital media structures is substantiated as social constructors of reality. The researcher shows the technological and visual possibilities of mass media in the creation of artificial, illusory simulated models of the world perceived by a person as objective, authentic, and real. Mass media are presented as an integral social institution of modern society, operating autonomously, based on its own rules and norms, technological and content principles, conditions of network communication, digitalization, and mediatization of society. The article presents the concepts of theoretical comprehension of mass media as a self-sufficient autopoietic system of N. Luhmann, and consideration of media communication implementation as a non-communication of J. Baudrillard. The author stresses the role of spectacle and visuality in the process of TV influence on the subjects, in the construction of images and models of the world, comparable with the already available information consumers pictures of the world. The contradictory and ambiguous conceptual assessments of the activity and influence of mass media on the modern man are emphasized.

UNSTRUCTURED CoronaVirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) fatality rate in Italy is controversial and is largely affecting discussion on the impact of containment measures that are straining the world’s social and economic fabric, such as large-scale use of isolation and quarantine, closing borders, imposing limits on public gatherings, and implementing nationwide lockdowns. The scientific community, citizens, politicians and mass media are arguing over data that seem to suggest that Italy has a significantly higher number of COVID-19-related deaths than in the rest of the world. Moreover, Italian citizens have a misleading perception related to the number of actually performed swab tests. Citizens and mass media denounce that the coverage obtained by COVID-19 swab testing in Italy is not in line with other countries all over the world. In this paper, we try to clarify both aspects by highlighting the actual numbers and by comparing them with the official data available world-wide.
