Introduction: The working activities of the fishermen in Tanjung Village are still considered as traditional works providing the works are done manually with non-ergonomic working postures, such as bending, standing, squatting, and legs bending. Accordingly, these postures trigger the complaints of musculoskeletal diseases (MSDs). Musculoskeletal diseases are diseases in the skeletal muscles, for example, pains, aches, pins and needles, and heat. Working as a fisherman means that one dedicates half of her/his time to catch fish mostly by using traditional boats and equipment. Thus, a lot of fishermen are discovered complaining about pains after completing their work. This research aims to distinguish the relationship among variables. Methods: This research is observational research that applies the cross-sectional design. The research samples as many as 56 fishermen are chosen by implementing the cluster random sampling technique. The data are obtained by completing measurements, interview, and observation by applying the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method and by distributing the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaires. Results: As many as 73.2% of the fishermen have a high risk of musculoskeletal diseases and 46.4% have been working in high-risk working postures. Conclusion: The working postures have a weak relationship (r=0.407) with the complaints of musculoskeletal diseases. Keywords: fishermen, complaints of musculoskeletal diseases, Nordic Body Map, Rapid Entire Body Assessment

ABSTRACTThis study was conducted to analyze the relation between body position with musculoskeletal complaints in welding unit of PT. X Bekasi. Welding is an important part of a steel fabrication company. Workers in the welding influenced by the position of work, the posture of their body of work and performance at work. Jobs that forced the labor to not an ergonomic posture when working cause workers had faster experience fatigue and indirectly provide additional workload. Health effects that arised as a result of an unergonomic worked postures are musculoskeletal disorders .This research is an observational research with cross sectional approach design. 32 workers were chosen as sample by using simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained by measuring, observing used Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), and filling out questionnaire Nordic Body Map (NBM). Spearman rho correlation test was used to analyse the relation between variables. As many as 68.6% workers had a weak risk of having musculoskeletal disorder (REBA score of 4-7) and 62.5% workers had a weak level of musculoskeletal complaint. Based on the results of this study concluded that body position were significantly related to musculoskeletal complaints. There was a weak significant relationship between body position and musculoskeletal complaints (pvalue= 0.005). It is suggested to companies that provide training on ergonomic working position when welding perform. Keywords: Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), Nordic Body Map (NBM), body position and musculoskeletal complaints

Musculoskeletal problems are problematic in Indonesia because manual work activities such as lifting, transporting, pulling and pushing are still being done. Pottery-making workers in the Kasongan are still doing those moves traditionally such as lifting, transporting, pulling and pushing manually. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk of MSDs in the pottery making workers in Kasongan. This research was cross sectional design. The sample amounted to 78 workers selected using accidental sampling techniques. The instruments used Nordic Body Map questionnaire and Rapid Entire Body Assessment. Data analysis was using the chi fisher test. The results showed that the variables associated were age (sig= 0.000) and variables that had no relationship were gender (sig= 0.341) and work posture (sig= 0.352). The risk factor associated with complaints of MSDs is age, so to reduce the risk of the occurrence of MSDs, they can do physical activity or stretch muscles.
