The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of supplementary feeding with fermented Moringa leaf flour on cholesterol levels of Mojosari duck eggs and to calculate the cost of production. This study used 60 mojosari ducks, layer phase aged 27 weeks. Moringa flour was fermented using probiotics and given in four treatments, namely P0 (100% commercial feed), P1 (0.5% moringa leaf flour fermentation + 100% commercial feed), P2 (1% moringa leaf flour fermentation + 100% commercial feed), P3 (1.5% fermented Moringa leaf meal + 100% commercial feed). The variable observed in this study was cholesterol levels in Mojosari duck eggs. The results showed thatgiving Moringa leaf flour fermentation can give significantly different values (p <0.05) in each treatment both P0, P1, P2 and P3.In the fermentation of moringa leaf flour as much as 1.5% (P3) had the lowest cholesterol levels (113.13 ± 12.55) Meanwhile, 1% (P2) of moringa leaf flour fermentation has the highest cholesterol level (170.42 ± 13.19).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Moringa oliefera L leaf meal through feed as an anti-bacterial to prevent infection with E.ictaluri bacteria in catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus). This research was conducted from March 2020 to April 2020 at the Fish Health Laboratory, Freshwater Aquaculture Fisheries Center (BPBAT) Jambi. The research method used was a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. Catfish were fed for 14 days with treatment feed with each treatment (A. 5% / kg feed), (B. 10% / kg feed), (C. 15% / kg feed), (D. Commercial feed ) and (E. Commercial feed). and on the 16th day the fish were injected with the Edwarsiella ictaluri bacteria, and survival was observed from day 16 to day 26. The results showed that treatment of moringa leaf meal (C. 15% / kg of feed), could prevent bacterial infection E. ictaluri in catfish with the highest survival rate reaching 66.67%, fish growth of 5.78 grams / head, and feed conversion of 0.18% / kg of feed.

Background: Moringa oleifera is currently and rapidly gaining superfood status. Objective: This study evaluated the effect of Moringa oleifera leaves (MOLM) on haematological, biochemical and histopathology indices of rats fed with Vitamins and Minerals Deficient (VMD) diets. Methods: Twenty-five male Wistar rats (220-290g) were randomly assigned into 5 groups of 5 rats each. The control (normal rat chow), remaining four diets were VMD plus MOLM at 0, 3, 5 and 10%. Haematological, biochemical and histopathological statuses were evaluated after 28 days. Results: Non-significant increase in RBC was observed in rats fed with the MOLM diets compared to control. Rats on VMD diet had the lowest haemoglobin levels, whereas haemoglobin increased with MOLM. No significant differences were observed in haematocrit, MCH, MCHC, platelets, RDW and MPV in all the treatments and control group. However, VMD rats showed a decrease in haemoglobin, and an increase in WBC and platelets. Electrolytes and glucose for all the treatments and control were not significantly different, but, control and VMD10 diets rats showed significantly higher values for creatinine compared to MOLM diets; total protein and albumin increased with MOLM and were higher than in VMD and control rats. Serum activities of hepatic, cardiac and adrenal marker enzymes were observed to be significantly lower in MOLM rats compared to VMD and control. Mild congestion in VMD and VMD3 rats’ liver and diffused congestion in the kidney of VMD diet rats were observed. Conclusion: The significantly high increase in platelet count in the VMD treated rats, indicative of anemia and other physiological imbalances, highlights the effect of micronutrient (mineral and vitamins) deficiencies in the diet. There is also the possibility that the anti-nutrients factors present in Moringa oleifera prevented uptake and bioavailability of nutrients, since the MOLM did not undergo any processing that could have removed or reduced these antinutrients. Further studies are still needed on Moringa oleifera leaves to validate the bioavailability of nutrients from the plant.

Introduction: The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in Indonesia is estimated to increased continously. One of the traditional medicines used to reduce blood cholesterol levels is Moringa oleifera Lam, After using the extract of Moringa leaves, the cholesterol levels slowly reduced, it because by the active substance component on Moringa leaves such as flavanoid, tannin saponin and β-sitosterol. Objective : To determine the effect of Moringa leaf extract on reduce total cholesterol levels. Methods : The research is an analytical research, using pre-experimental design with one group pre-test method post-test approach. By comparing treatment groups and control groups where the treatment group was treated on the form of Moringa leaf extract. Results: The Paired T test showed that in the treatment group using Moringa leaf extract obtained before intervention the average cholesterol level was 307.40 mg/dl and after the interval was 209.00 mg/dl. Statistical test results obtained p value (0.00041) <0.05 which means that there is a difference of the mean cholesterol level between before and after treatment. Besides, the group using simvastatin was obtained before the intervention of the average cholesterol level was 271.20 mg/dl and after the interval was 127.40 mg/dl. Statistical test results obtained p value (0.009) <0.05 which means that there is a difference of the mean cholesterol level between before and after treatment. Conclusion: There wasn’t any significant differences between the Moringa leaves and simvastatin use to reduce the total blood cholesterol levels.

As a dietary supplement for animals, Moringa oleifera is very useful because its leaves are very nutritious. Moringa oleifera leaves are rich in fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals with antimicrobial effects. Leaf tea is used to treat ulcers in the stomach and diarrhea. Moringa leaves are considered healthy food sources and are recommended for anemia from malnutrition due to the high protein, fiber, and iron content of the leaves. Moringa oleifera leaves are primarily used for medicinal and human consumption purposes since they are abundant in antioxidants and other nutrients. Due to the low energy and digestibility of proteins, Moringa oleifera leaf meal supplementation increases feed intake and feed conversion ratio, as well as decreasing egg mass yield, percentage of egg production, and egg weight. More research in these areas is required to make full use of the potential advantages of the Moringa oleifera plant as layer feed.

Cancer is a disease that can threaten human life. Various methods of cancer therapy havebeen widely practiced, one of which is chemotherapy. But the cost used for the therapy is alsovery expensive. This difficulty led many researchers to conduct research to find activecompounds from natural materials. Moringa leaf (Moringa oleifera) has cytotoxic activity, because it contains a lot of flavonoids. Flavonoids are polyphenol compounds produced fromsecondary metabolism in plants. The most flavonoids that are anticancer active substances inthe Moringa leaf are quercetin, kaempferol and myricetin. Cytotoxic activity because theseactive substances can induce apoptosis through intrinsic pathways by inhibition of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), extracellular-signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK 1/2), c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase 1 (JNK), and protein kinase C (PKC).Keywords: Moringa leaf, quersetin; kaempferol; myricetin; anticancer
