This research was conducted to determine the anthelmintics effect of peel a pomegranate fruit extract etanol against Ascaridia galli worm in vitro. In this research, using 240 samples of A. galli with length 7-11cm without differentiating sex. The concentration of peel a pomegranate fruit extract etanol for immersing the Ascaridia galli were 10 mg/ml, 20 mg/ml, 40 mg/ml, and 80 mg/ml. Negative control was used PBS. Positif control was used piperazin citrate 10 mg/ml. Observation death A. galli worm and analysis of the data at the 6 hour, 12 hour, 18 hour, 24 hour, 30 hour and 36 hour using ANOVA test and Duncan Range Test. ANOVA result showed significant differences between treatments (p<0,05). Duncan Range Test result showed peel a pomegranate extract etanol 40 mg/ml had anthelmintics effects the 36 hour which comparable with piperazin citrate 10 mg/ml.

Ascaridiasis can be happened in either broiler or hens that can caused decrease of meat and egg productions. Ascaridiasis is a parasite that is most often found in poultry and cause high economic losses. This research was conducted to determine the anthelmintic effect of calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)₂] on mortality of Ascaridia galli in vitro. In this research used Ascaridia galli with length 7-11 cm without differentiating their sex. The concentrations of calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)₂] for immersion the Ascaridia galli were 0,01%, 0,02%, 0,025% and 0,03% as treatment group, respectively. The negative control used aquadest. Observation death A.galli worm and analysis of the data at the 2 hour, 4 hour, 6 hour, 8 hour, 10 hour and 12 hour. The result showed that the increase of concentration increased mortality of Ascaridia galli. Percentage of death worm A.galli at the 12th hour on concentration ,01%, 0,02%, 0,025% and 0,03% was 20%, 55%, 75% and 100%. ANOVA test showed significant difference between control and treatment group (p<0.05). Duncan multiple range test was seen the best treatment was the biggest mortality in concentration of 0,03%.

Introduction: Mahkota dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa) is an Indonesian fruit that contains antibacterial compounds, such as flavonoids, saponins, and tannins; it has been used as an alternative treatment for controlling infection. Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effect of mahkota dewa fruit extract on the formation of Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis), Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (A. actinomycetemcomitans), and Treponema denticola (T. denticola) biofilms in vitro. Methods: God’s crown fruit was extracted using the maceration technique, and then diluted into different concentrations (25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.125%, and 1.56%) using phosphate buffered saline (PBS). P. gingivalis ATCC-33277, A. actinomycetemcomitans ATCC-29522, or T. denticola ATCC-35405 were cultured in brain heart infusion (BHI) broth, 24h (anaerobic-condition), and then each type of bacteria (108CFU/mL) was distributed into a 96-well microplate to form a biofilm. Subsequently, the fruit extracts were distributed into the biofilm-containing well plates and incubated for 1h, 6h, and 24h. A biofilm without the fruit extract and chlorhexidine-gluconate (0.2%) was used as the negative and positive control, respectively. Crystal violet (0.5%w/v) was used to determine the density of the remaining biofilm using a microplate spectrophotometer (600 nm). Data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA, and p <0.05 was set as the level of significance. Results: The mahkota dewa fruit extracts significantly inhibited the formation of a biofilm for all three bacterial strains at all concentrations and for each incubation time (p <0.05) based on optical density (OD)±SD.  The best concentration of fruit extract to inhibit biofilm formation was 25% for P. gingivalis (OD=0.19±0.06), 12.5% for A. actinomycetemcomitans (OD=0.14 ± 0.16), and 25% for T. denticola (OD=1.17±0.19) in comparison to the biofilm mass of the negative control, which was 1.67±0.06, 1.17±0.34, 2.66±0.38 for P. gingivalis, A. actinomycetemcomitans, and T. denticola, respectively. Conclusion: Based on these results, mahkota dewa fruit extract can inhibit the formation of biofilm on P. gingivalis, A. actinomycetemcomitans, and T. denticola, and it may potentially be used to prevent the infection associated with periodontal disease.

The research was conducted to observe anthelmintic efficacy on rhizome extract bangle against Ascaridia galli by in vitro procedure. Experimental study was conducted, with samples rhizomes bangle powder and  maceration method in three concentrations of 2%, 4% and 8%. The experimental animals used is Ascaridia galli with NaCl 0.9% as negative control and a pyrantel pamoate suspension as positive control with concentrations of 0.2%, 0.4% and 0.6%. The study was conducted in July 2014 at the Laboratory on IKIFA Academy of Pharmacy. The data analysis used is a probit analysis. Results of Research was rhizome extract bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) having as anthelmintic efficacy against Ascaridia galli with LC50 2.29% and LT50 in 4 hours 3 minutes 18 seconds

Objective: The objective of the study was to evaluate the therapeutic potential and in vitro anthelmintic activity of ridge gourd fruit (Luffa acutangula) against Indian earthworms. Methods: For anthelmintic activity against Indian earthworms (Pheretima posthuma, Ascaridia galli, and Raillietina spiralis), various different extracts concentration of L. acutangula fruit have been taken. Five concentrations as 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 mg/ml of various extracts were tested and results were expressed in terms of time for paralysis and time for the death of worms. Albendazole (20 mg/ml) was used as reference standard and water (0.5%) as a control group. Results: Preliminary phytochemical screening of the different extracts of ridge gourd fruit was shown to produce anthelmintic activities. In the present study, it was observed that all the extracts of ridge gourd fruit have exhibited a positive response to a certain degree of anthelmintic activity. Ethyl acetate extract exhibited more potent activity at the lower concentration of 10 mg/mL against A. galli (Roundworm). The anthelmintic activity of L. acutangula fruit extract has, therefore, been demonstrated.

This research aimed to know the ability of formaldehyde to protect unsaturated fatty acid of CPO on the hydrogenation process by rumen microbes. In this experiment, the in vitro fermentation of rumen fluid was carrying out. It was taken from the rumen-trocar of female sheep. The unsaturated fatty acid source was from CPO (Crude Palm Oil) which encapsulated by formaldehyde 37% within 0%, 1%, 2% and 3%. The data was analyzed by Completely Random Design with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test. The difference of means the treatments were tested by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test. Result showed that oleic and linoleic resulting from fermenting CPO protected by formaldehyde was increase if it was compared with the unprotected CPO. It can be concluded that encapsulated CPO with formaldehyde was able to prevent hydrogenating of unsaturated fatty acid, mainly oleic and linoleic.

<p>Excessive usage of synthetic pediculicides, such as permethrin, lindane, and malathion, can induce resistance, environmental pollution, health problems, and even death. Efforts to prevent the side-effects of synthetic pediculicides are needed, one of which is by shifting to powerful yet safe natural pediculicides, such as Citrus limon (lemon) and Allium sativum (garlic). This study aimed to observe the effective concentration of Citrus limon and Allium sativum in vitro on the mortality of Pediculus humanus capitis (P. h. capitis). This research was an experimental laboratory study conducted in July to September 2019 in the Laboratory of Parasitology at Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau, while the making of Allium sativum extract was done at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science, University of Riau. A total of 288 samples of adult P. h. capitis was taken from children in two orphanages in Pekanbaru. Citrus limon juice and Allium sativum extract of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% concentrations, permethrin 1% as the positive control, and distilled water as the negative control were used in this study, and repetition was done three times. P. h. capitis mortality was observed every 10 - 120 minutes, characterized by the absence of movement of the legs and antenna. Data analysis was performed after 120 minutes with the one-way ANOVA test, LSD (=0.05), and Lethal Concentration 50 test (LC50). The one-way ANOVA test results of this study showed that statistically Citrus limon juice and Allium sativum extracts showed differences in each treatment formulation of juice on P. h. capitis mortality (Sig 0.017&lt;0.05 and Sig 0.000&lt;0.05) and LC50 juice of Citrus limon and Allium sativum extract by 51.999% and 72.426%. In this study, Citrus limon juice and Allium sativum extract had effect as pediculicides.</p>
