AbstractDiscourse Structures, Meanings, and Functions of Mahalabiu. Mahalabiu is a discoursethat implies multiple (ambiguous), meaning the spoken utterances, usually the listenerto interpret the meaning or intent behind the words is another. Behavior mahalabiuBanjar is a common language behavior of the use meaningful phrases in order tooutwit new speaker. The purpose of this study was to describe the Discourse Structure,Meaning and Function mahalabiu. This type of research used in this study DiscourseStructure, Meaning and Function mahalabiu is descriptive research that intends toprovide an overview of data characteristics in accordance with nature itself. The methodused is descriptive method with qualitative approach to the data source in this study isa collection mahalabiu from an internet site and a thesis of Noorbaity (2004). Datacollection techniques in this study is to use observation techniques of text, data collectionobtained by collecting, reading and classify mahalabiu the structure, meaning andfunction. From the research, it can be concluded Discourse Structure is divided intotwo parts, namely the introduction and description mahalabiu. Then there are fourtypes in the distribution of meaning, namely (1) homonym, (2) homophones, (3) reductionof the phrase, and (4) comments do not match with the topic. Function mahalabiu fivefunctions, namely (1) functions as a joke / joke material, (2) a function that tests aperson’s intelligence, (3) the function of a satirical one, (4) functions as a tool to tell astate or occupation, and (5 ) function is a tool to educate children.Keywords: discourse structure, meaning, function, mahalabiuAbstrakStruktur Wacana, Makna, dan Fungsi Mahalabiu. Mahalabiu adalah wacana yangmengandung pengertian ganda (mendua), memiliki makna ujaran yang diucapkannya,biasanya si pendengar menafsirkan makna atau maksud lain dibalik ucapan tersebut.Perilaku mahalabiu adalah perilaku berbahasa Banjar yang umum karena adanyapenggunaan ungkapan-ungkapan yang bermakna baru dengan tujuan mengecoh lawanbicara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan Struktur Wacana, Maknadan Fungsi mahalabiu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian StrukturWacana, Makna, dan Fungsi mahalabiu ialah jenis penelitian deskriptif yang bermaksudmemberikan gambaran ciri-ciri data sesuai dengan sifat alamiah itu sendiri. Metodeyang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif Sumber datadalam penelitian ini adalah kumpulan mahalabiu dari sebuah situs internet dan sebuahtesis dari Noorbaity (2004). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalahdengan menggunakan teknik observasi teks, pengumpulan data diperoleh denganmengumpulkan, membaca dan mengklasifikasikan mahalabiu dengan struktur, maknadan fungsinya. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan Struktur Wacana dibagi atasdua bagian, yaitu Pengantar dan deskripsi mahalabiu. Kemudian ada empat jenis dalam112pembagian Makna, yakni (1) homonim, (2) homofon, (3) pengurangan frasa, dan (4)komen tidak serasi dengan topik. Fungsi mahalabiu ada lima fungsi, yakni (1) fungsisebagai gurauan/bahan bercanda, (2) fungsi yang menguji kepandaian seseorang,(3) fungsi yang menyindir seseorang, (4) fungsi sebagai alat untuk memberitahu suatukeadaan atau pekerjaan, dan (5) fungsi alat untuk mendidik anak.Kata-kata kunci: struktur wacana, makna, fungsi, mahalabiu

AbstractThe Meaning and Function of Practical Community Interest Paser DistrictLong Acts Paser. This study uses a descriptive method, a qualitative form with anethnographic approach to communication. The purpose of ethnographiccommunication in this research is to study or study language in relation to thecustoms or habits of a society. The data source is pamali text which researchersgathered from six informants. While research data are words, phrases or sentencesin pamali that show meaning and function. The techniques used are participantobservation, in-depth interviews, and records. Data analysis is done bytranscribing data, selecting data, identifying data, classifying data, andconcluding data to determine the meaning and function of the guardian. Based onthe results of the analysis it can be concluded that pamali in the Paser communityhas the deepest (implied) meaning. The meaning contained in the Pamali societyis teaching the values of education and norms that exist in the community by wayof rebuking, advising and reminding to behave in accordance with the norms andforms of moral preservation, attitude and behavior. In this research, the functionof pamali is adjusted to the purpose of someone conveying pamali. The pamalifunction, namely (1) functions to educate in the form of morals, behavior,compassion, respect for fellow creatures created by God, maintain solidarity,strengthen the faith, and avoid feeling lazy, (2) functions as a form of selfprotectionin the form of safety, protecting women pregnant and children.Key words: pamali, Paser tribe, meaning, function, sociolinguistics AbstrakMakna dan Fungsi Pamali Masyarakat SukuPaser Kecamatan Long IkisKabupaten Paser. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, bentuk kualitatifdengan pendekatan etnografi komunikasi. Tujuan etnografi komunikasi dalampenelitian ini ialah mengkaji atau mempelajari bahasa dalam hubungan denganadat-istiadat atau kebiasaan suatu masyarakat. Sumber data adalah teks pamaliyang peneliti himpun dari enam informan. Sedangkan data penelitian ialah katakata,frasa atau kalimat dalam pamali yang menunjukan makna dan fungsi. Teknikyang digunakan adalah observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan rekam.Analisis data dilakukan dengan mentraskripsi data, seleksi data, identifikasi data,pengklasifikasi data, dan menyimpulkan data untuk mengetahui makna dan fungsipamali. Berdasarkan hasil analisi dapat disimpulkan bahwa pamali dalammasyarakat Paser memiliki makna terdalam (tersirat). Adapun makna terdapatdalam pamali masyarakat Paser adalah mengajarkan nilai-nilai pendidikan dannorma-norma yang ada di masyarakat dengan cara menegur, menasehati danmengingatkan agar bersikap sesuai dengan norma-norma dan bentuk penjagaanmoral, bersikap dan berprilaku. Dalam penelitian ini fungsi pamali disesuaikandengan tujuan seseorang menyampaikan pamali. Adapun fungsi pamali, yaitu (1)berfungsi mendidik berupa moral, perilaku, rasa kasih sayang, menghargaisesama makhluk ciptaan Tuhan, menjaga solidaritas, penebal keimanan, danmenghindari rasa malas, (2) berfungsi sebagai bentuk perlindungan diri berupamenjaga keselamatan, melindungi perempuan hamil dan anak-anak.Kata-kata kunci:pamali,suku Paser, makna, fungsi, sosiolinguistik

This study  aimed to determine the structure and social function of folklore legend naming Batunabontar Batang Natal district Mandailing Natal district. The method used in this research was descriptive method. The data source of this research was the people who inhabit Batunabontar village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District. The instrument used in this study was the researcher himself and the informant based on the understanding of the structure and social function of the naming legend of a place. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation by observation and to strengthen the data obtained, direct interviews were carried out to the authorities in research on the Social Structure and Function of the Legend of the Naming of Batunabontar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District. The results of this study indicate that the Social Structure and Function of Naming Legend of Batunabontar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District has a unique history and structure and function in the village. The uniqueness of this Batunabontar makes the writer want to know the importance of the structure and function of the Batunabontar in Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal Regency.

This study aims to (1) describe the existential drama Oh, Edan, and Dag Dig Dug works of Putu Wijaya which include: (a) freedom, (b) anxiety, (c) the failure, (d) the futility, (e) death, (2) describe absurdism in drama  Ah, Edan, and Dag Dig Dug by Putu Wijaya which includes: (a) suicide philosophical, (b) the nature of the symbolic,  and  (c) of tragedy and comedy. This study focuses on (1) existentialism in the drama Oh, Edan, and Dag Dig Dug  by  Putu Wijaya which include: (a) freedom, (b) anxiety, (c) the failure, (d) the futility, (e) death and (2) absurdism in drama Ah, Edan, and Dag Dig Dug. This study is qualitative research, using descriptive qualitative research data collection. Descriptive method is a method which seeks to describe a phenomenon, the events that occurred at that time. In this study, descriptive method is used  to describe the concept of existentialism and absurdism. This research data  use  existantialism theory  and absurdism in playwrights  by PutuWijaya. By using the technique with  the  data source in the form of three plays, the relevant data collection technique is a technique read. Reading the drama text data collection activities conducted by member’s attention totally focused on the object. Reading and listening is a set of techniques to obtain valid data followed by activities recorded data. This study concluded five concepts of existentialism and three concepts of absurdism. The results showed that existentialism in the drama Oh, Edan, Dag Dig Dug by Putu Wijaya, looked  in terms of freedom, anxiety, failure, futility, and  death.  Three absurdism concepts  in drama Ah, Edan, Dag Dig Dug  by  Putu Wijaya looked through suicide philosophical, symbolic nature, tragedy and comedy.

This study aims to determine and analyze the picture of the implementation of the role and oversight of the implementation of regional government affairs conducted by the Inspectorate of Deli Serdang and constraints faced by local governments in Deli Serdang Region. This research use descriptive method with qualitative approach technically, to illustrate the operational activities and the play is carried out by the inspectorate of Deli Serdang. Thus the data source is the people or individuals who fully understand the problems studied and formally involved in the regulatory process. The results concludes that the supervisory role through internal audits of the implementation of regional government affairs in Deli Serdang by District Inspectorate has been implemented properly. However there are also some disadvantages which become information for planning improvements in the supervision of the future. Within the framework of optimizing the role and function as an internal auditor, Deli Serdang District Inspectorate is still experiencing constraints such as human resource constraints, Operational Standards and the constraints that have not been going well.

ABSTRAK               Bahasa di mana pun di dunia ini secara universal memiliki kelas kata yang disebut partikel. Secara praktis keberadaan partikel ini penting karena memiliki fungsi tertentu dalam bahasa sebagai sarana untuk berkomunikasi bagi para penuturnya. Namun demikian, sebagai ciri keunikan setiap bahasa, tentu bentuk, jumlah, dan fungsi partikel ini berbeda-beda. Bahasa Sunda sebagai bahasa alamiah yang merupakan salah satu bahasa daerah di Indonesia kaya dengan pertikel ini. Salah satu partikel yang terdapat dalam bahasa Sunda adalah his ’his’. Artikel ini akan mencoba membahas partikel his ini dari ssi sebagai pengungkap emosi dalam percakapan para tokoh cerita rekaan berbahasa Sunda. Untuk membahas partikel his ini digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode simak, yakni menyimak penggunaan partikel his oleh para tokoh dalam cerita rekaan berbahasa Sunda dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa teknik catat. Adapun metode analisis menggunkan metode padan pragmatik dan referensial dengan pendekatan semantik gramatikal. Sumber data yang digunakan berupa enam buah cerita rekaan berbahasa Sunda dengan pertimbangan pada keenam buku tersebut terdapat data yang diperlukan dan sebagai sampel sumber data. Dari hasil pengamatan terhadap enam belas data ditemukan enam emosi yang diungkapkan partikel his, meyakinkan, kesal, melarang, kecewa, tidak setuju, danangkuh.Kata kunci: partikel, fatis, emosi, semantik gramatikal ABSTRACT               Languages everywhere in the world universally have a class of words called particles. Practically the existence of this particle is important because it has a certain function in language as a means to communicate for its speakers. However, as a feature of the uniqueness of each language, the shape, number, and function of these particles differ. Sundanese as a natural language which is one of the regional languages in Indonesia is rich in this particles. One of the particles contained in Sundanese is his. This article will try to discuss his particle from an expression of emotion in the conversation of the fictional characters in Sundanese. To discuss this particle, a qualitative descriptive method is used. Data were collected using the method of listening, which is listening to the use of his particle by the characters in a fictional story in Sundanese language with data collection techniques in the form of note taking techniques. The analytical method uses the pragmatic and referential equivalent method with a grammatical semantic approach. The data source used in the form of six Sundanese fiction stories with consideration in the six books contained the necessary data and as a sample data source. From the observation of the sixteen data found six emotions expressed his particle, convincing, annoyed, forbidding, disappointed, disagreeing, and arrogant.Keywords: particle, phatic, emotion, grammatical semantics

Abdi dalem are state servants and cultural servants, who can come from relatives of the palace or from retirees or ordinary people. Ngayogyakarta Palace has a community in preserving culture, one of the community is Gandhewa Mataram community. The Gandhewa Mataram community is focus on preservation of the Jemparingan Mataraman. Pamenthanging gandhewa, pamanthenging cipta is the basis of the philosophy of Jemparingan. It has existed since Hamengkubuwono I. The iconological approach which is part of iconographic theory becomes the method used in analyzing the meaning and function of Jemparingan Mataraman. The data source came from the abdi dalem who participated in the Jemparingan activities. The result of this study stated that the meaning and function of Jemparingan Mataraman were related to the community’s foundation and the life learning process aimed at realizing hamemayu hayuning bawana.Keyword: abdi dalem, jemparingan Mataraman, meaning and  function

<p><em>The religious ceremonies such as Panca Yajna especially in Hinduism in Bali is done any time by Balinese societies that consist of several clans, groups of Dadia, Merajan, Banjar Pakraman, and Customary Village. Each group has a variety of cultures and interests related to their belief systems or related to their religious life. One of the Panca Yajna activities is Rsi Yajna which is Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony in Penglipuran Village. The purpose of Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony is for inner purification by one of their citizens who will become Jro Kubayan. Every ceremony activities is performed depending on the facilities and infrastructures of the offerings that is used in the procession. Every infrastructure is used having its own meaning and function. The religious activities is performed depending on the communication. Communication is an interaction process which is done by someone with other people to achieve a purpose together. Communication can be done in verbal or non-verbal as a sign or symbol which is used during communication.</em></p><p><em>According to the explanation above, then the problems are formulated as follows, (1) what are the forms of symbolic communication in Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony Procession in Penglipuran Village? (2) what are the functions of symbolic communication in Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony Procession in Penglipuran Village? (3) what are the meanings of symbolic communication in Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony Procession in Penglipuran Village? The theory that is used in this research are the theory of symbolic communication, the theory of structuralism functional, and the theory of interactionism symbolic. The type of this research is a qualitative research that used observation, interview and the study of librarianship. The data analysis technique uses descriptive method.</em></p><p><em>Based on the data analysis, the results of the research are obtained as follows, (1) the forms of symbolic communication in Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony Procession in Penglipuran Village are verbal and non-verbal form, (2) the functions of symbolic communication in Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony Procession in Penglipuran Village are as offering function, social function, endorsement function, communication function. (3) the meanings of symbolic communication in Nilem Jro Kubayan Ceremony Procession in Penglipuran Village are Religious meaning, social meaning, and education value meaning. </em></p>

Educational policy shapes the positions of all stakeholders and their mutual relations in the system of preschool education through its attitude towards documentation. The attitude towards the function of pedagogical documentation in preschool education programmes reflects certain views on children, learning and nature of the programmes. Although contemporary approaches to preschool education emphasise the issue of documentation, this problem is dealt with partially and technically in our country. The aim of our research was to explore preschool teachers? perspective on documentation by investigating the current situation and teachers? preferences related to documentation type, as well as to study the purpose, meaning and process of documentation. The research was conducted on the sample of 300 preschool teachers. The descriptive method, interviewing and scaling techniques were used. Research data suggest that the field of documentation is marked by contradictions in perceiving the meaning and function of documentation, as well as by discrepancy and lack of integration at the level of conceptions, practice and educational policy. Changing the current situation in the field of documentation is not a technical matter of elaboration of certain types and forms of documentation; it demands explication of the purpose and function of documentation in keeping with the conception of preschool education programmes and a systemic approach to changes originating from the given conception.

AbstractThis research aims to identify, describe, and analyze the use of euphemism and dysphemism from the forming process, meaning, and function of Republika online media related to the Development of Setya Novanto Case in January 2018 edition.  Method used is descriptive with qualitative approach. Data source is news issued by Republika online regarding Setya Novanto Case Development in January 2018 edition many as 15 news issues. Research data is the use of euphemism and dysphemism including word, phrase, clause, and sentence. Data collecting technique used is documentation and tool of data collecting is news capture. Data analysis method used are identity and distributional method. The meaning of euphemism and dysphemism including collocative meaning and connotative meaning either in form of word, phrase, or clause. Euphemism can function as a protective tool, smoothing utterance, provocation, encouragement, fraud cover, and diplomacy. Dysphemism can function as a negative image of someone or something, showing low value thing, exaggerate something, and showing disrespect.   Key Words: Euphism, Dyshemism, Republika Online, Setya Novanto Case
