<p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Objective: </strong>Native chickens (Kampung, Sentul, and Merawang) have great potential to be developed as both meat and egg producers. Quantitative data about native chickens are not widely known. The purpose of this research was to determine the quantitative characteristics of Native Chickens aged 1 month, 2 months, 3 months and 4 months.</p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Methods: </strong>The research material is native chickens. The method used was an 82 sample in each strain and a total of 246 samples. The data collected is of a quantitative traits. Quantitative traits are traits that are influenced by multiple gene pairs, can be measured, and are heavily influenced by environmental factors. Data collected were analyzed using the average difference test (t-test). The average value vector of body measurements of chicken lines was analyzed using the T2-Hotelling statistical test. Main Component Analysis statistical test to identify the shape and size characteristics of each chicken strain. Data processing was assisted by using Minitab statistical software version 18.<strong></strong></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Results: </strong>The results of this study showed that body weight, weight gain and body size measurements of Kampung chicken were significantly different (P &lt;0.05) higher than Sentul chicken and Merawang chickens. The identifier of the size of the Kampung chicken is the width of the chest, while the identifier of the shape is the length of the back. The identifier of Sentul chicken size is chest length, while the tibia is long. The characteristic of Merawang chicken is the length of the tibia, while the character of the shape is the wing length.<strong></strong></p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Quantitative characteristics (body weight, weight gain and body size measurements) at the age of 4 months Kampung chickens more heavily than Sentul chicken and Merawang chicken.</p>

The purpose of this research was to determine the body weight, weight gain and morphometric characteristics of several local chicken strains. The research materials were KUB chicken, Sentul chicken, and Arab chicken. The method used was an experiment with a sample of 82 chickens from each strain. Data collected include body weight, weight gain, beak length, beak width, head length, head circumference, head height, neck length, neck circumference, wing length, back length, back height, chest length, chest width, shank length, shank circumference, tibia length, tibia circumference, third finger length, and pubic bone distance. Data collected were analyzed using the average difference test (t-test). The average value vector of body measurements of chicken lines was analyzed using the T²-Hotelling statistical test. Main Component Analysis statistical test was used to identify the shape and size characteristics of each chicken strain. The results showed that the body weight and morphometrics of KUB chickens at 3 months were significantly different (P<0.05) with Sentul chickens and Arab chickens. KUB chicken`s body weight gain at 3 months was not significantly different (P>0.05) from Sentul chickens, but it was significantly different (P<0.05) from Arab chickens. Body weight, weight gain, and morphometrics of KUB chickens were higher than Sentul chickens and Arab chickens. The size indicator in KUB chickens was the tibia length while in Sentul chickens and Arab chickens was chest length. The characteristic of KUB chickens was the back length, Sentul chickens was tibia length, and Arab chickens was the shank circumference.

Abstract This study aimed to determine the quantitative characteristics, the determinant of body size and shape, and the correlation of body measurements and the bodyweight of Bali and Simbal cattle in Renah Pamenang, Merangin District. The survey method was used along with purposive sampling, the samples were Bali and Simbal cattle aged I1 (Incicivus 1) and not in pregnant condition, with 60 cattle consisting of 30 males and 30 females. Observed data included: body weight, body weight gain, body length, shoulder height, chest circumference, chest weight, chest width, hip height, and canon circumference were analyzed using the t-test method. The principal component analysis was used to determine the determinant of size and shape of Bali and Simbal cattle followed by the regression and correlation analysis to determine the relationship and closeness of the relationship between body measurements with body weight. The result showed that the body weight, body weight gain, and body size of Bali cattle were significantly different (P <0.05) from Simbal. The body weight, body weight gain, and body size of Bali cattle were lower than Simbal cattle. The main characteristic of size in Bali and Simbal cattle was the Chest Circumference. The dominant characteristic of shape in Bali and Simbal cattle was shoulder height. The highest correlation between body measurements and body weight in Bali and Simbal cattle was the chest circumference. Keywords: Quantitative Characteristics; Bali Cattle; Simbal Cattle.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik kuantitatif, penciri ukuran dan bentuk tubuh, serta korelasi ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan sapi Bali dan Simbal di Kecamatan Renah Pamenang Kabupaten Merangin. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey dengan pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling, yaitu sapi Bali dan Simbal, umur I1 (Incicivus 1),  dan tidak dalam keadaan bunting sebanyak 60 sampel yang terdiri dari 30 ekor jantan dan 30 ekor betina pada masing-masing bangsa. Data yang dihimpun meliputi : bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, panjang badan, tinggi pundak, lingkar dada, dalam  dada, lebar dada, tinggi pinggul dan lingkar kanon dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Analisis komponen utama digunakan untuk mengetahui penciri ukuran dan bentuk tubuh sapi Bali dan Simbal kemudian dilanjutkan analisis regresi dan korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan dan keeratan hubungan antara ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi Bali berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan Simbal. Bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi Bali lebih rendah dibandingkan Simbal. Penciri ukuran pada sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah lingkar dada. penciri bentuk pada sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah tinggi pundak. Korelasi tertinggi antara ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah lingkar dada. Kata kunci: Karakteristik kuantitatif; Sapi Bali; Sapi Simbal

This study was aimed to determine the effect of providing a combination of tofu dregs fermentation with commercial feed on the growth of super native chickens. The research was being conducted in June-September 2019 at the Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, University of Sembilanbelas November Kolaka. The materials were used in this study were super native chicken, fermented feed, and commercial feed (Malindo). The fermented feed consists of tofu dregs, yellow corn, fine rice bran, starch, molasses. Tools that used were digital scales, pans, tarpaulins, cages, feed containers, drinking containers, cables, lamps, sacks, plastic polybags, sacks, feed grinding machines, gas, hoses, buckets, basins. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 4 treatments three replications with each test consisting of 8 super native chickens. The parameters observed were Weekly Consumption, Weekly Body Weight Gain (WBWG), and Feed Conversion. The results showed that the influence of feed consumption was not significant (P> 0.05), while the WBWG and Feed Conversion were significantly different due to treatment. So it can be concluded that the use of a combination of fermented tofu pulp and commercial feed with a ratio of 60% and 40% can increase weekly body weight gain and decrease feed conversion so that the use of feed is more efficient

A total of 270 native chickens of two months of age were reared up to their six months of age under three densities D1, D2 and D3 (0.186, 0.279 and 0.372 m2/bird) and three flock sizes F1, F2 and F3 (20, 30 and 40 birds/flock) to find out the effect of density (D) and flock size (F) on the growth performance of native chicken under intensive system of management. Body weight gain and feed intake were higher (5.62 & 5.39 and 50.17 & 50.42) and feed conversion ratio and mortality were the lower (9.48 & 10.02) in D2 unit and (12.01 & 13.05) in F2 unit. On the other hand, body  weight gain was the lowest (4.81) in D3 unit. Feed intake was the lowest (49.25) in D1 unit with the highest (11.70) FCR value. Body weight gain was found to be the lowest (4.81) in F3 unit but its FCR and mortality rate were the  highest (11.25 and 17.71). Feed intake was observed to be the lowest (49.17) in the F1 unit. Considering the growth  performance of native chickens under different densities and flock sizes, it could be concluded that flock size F2 (30 birds/flock) performed better at the density level D2 (0.279 m2/bird) than other densities and other flock sizes.   DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jbau.v10i1.12040   J. The normal feathered (NF), frizzle feathered (FF) and naked neck (Na) native chickens of Nigeria were outcrossed under the savanna ecology. Eggs were collected and artificially incubated in electric type incubator. Chicks were weighed at hatch, identified and raised on a standard compounded ration. Body weight increase was evaluated at 4-20 weeks of age. Heterosis was evaluated for hatch weight and body weight at 20 weeks of age. Results revealed that percent heterosis ranged from -12.11to 1.66 and 1.93 to 12.80 for hatch weight and body weight at 20 weeks of age, respectively. The outcrosses using the NF as males had a higher body weight at 20 weeks of age. Consequently, the environmental limitation on growth impinged more on the NF than on the FF and Na genotypes. It was also noted that there is a greater divergence between the NF and the FF, the NF and Na than between the FF and Na birds. Outcrossing the NF birds with the FF and Na birds in the savanna may therefore improve body weight at 20 weeks of age in the outcrosses than in the respective straight bred genotypes.

<p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Objective: </strong>The purpose of this research was to determine the performance of the first generation (G1) Kampung Super and Bangkok chicken aged 12 weeks<span lang="EN-GB">.</span></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Methods: </strong>The research material were G1 Kampung Super and Bangkok chicken with 174 samples for each strain. This research was using the experimental method. The data collected included body weight, body weight gain, body measurements, and selected responses. The body weight, body weight gain, and body measurements data were analyzed using t-test independent, while the average value vector of body measured using <em><span>T<sup>2</sup>-Hotelling test.</span></em> Principal Component Analysis ware used to identify the characteristics of body shape and size.<strong></strong></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Results: </strong>The results of this study showed that body weight, body weight gain of DOC-4 weeks, 4-8 weeks, 8-12 weeks, and body measurements of G1 Kampung Super chickens were real different higher (P&lt;0.05) than G1 Bangkok. The identifier of the size of the G1 Kampung Super and Bangkok chicken is the chest circumference. The characteristics of the shape G1 Kampung Super chicken is the length of the wings and the G1 Bangkok chicken is the lower body lenght. The selection response of G1 Kampung Super is higher than G1 Bangkok<span lang="EN-GB">.</span><strong></strong></p><p><strong><span>Conclusions: </span></strong>The<span> performance of G1 Kampung Super chicken was higher than G1 Bangkok chicken but the selection response value of G1 Bangkok chicken was higher than G1 Kampung Super chicken. The highest body weight gain of G1 Kampung Super and Bangkok chickens was achieved at the age of 8-12 weks</span><span lang="EN-GB">.</span></p>

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bobot badan dan karakteristik morfometrik beberapa galur ayam lokal. Materi penelitian ini adalah ayam kampung super, ayam kampung unggul balitnak (KUB), dan ayam kampung masing-masing sebanyak 82 ekor. Data yang dihimpun adalah bobot badan, panjang paruh, lebar paruh, panjang kepala, lingkar kepala, tinggi kepala, panjang leher, lingkar leher, panjang sayap, panjang punggung, tinggi punggung, panjang dada, lebar dada, panjang shank, lingkar shank, panjang tibia, lingkar tibia, panjang jari ketiga dan jarak antara tulang pubis. Data bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh dianalisis menggunakan uji-t  sedangkan vektor nilai rata-rata ukuran-ukuran tubuh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji T2-Hotelling. Analisis komponen utama digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi penciri ukuran  dan bentuk tubuh ayam lokal.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bobot bahwa bobot badan ayam kampung Super (837,98±68,97 g) berbeda nyata dengan ayam KUB (713,15±66,75 g) dan ayam kampung (605,53±80,01 g). Secara umum ayam kampung super memiliki morfometrik yang relatif lebih tinggi daripada ayam KUB dan ayam kampung. Penciri ukuran tubuh ayam kampung super dan ayam KUB adalah panjang tibia, sedangkan ayam kampung adalah lebar dada. Penciri bentuk tubuh ayam kampung super adalah lebar dada, sedangkan ayam KUB dan ayam kampung adalah panjang punggung. Disimpulkan bahwa bobot badan dan morfometrik tertinggi ditemukan pada ayam kampung super, disusul ayam KUB dan ayam kampung. Ayam kampung Super dan ayam KUB memiliki penciri ukuran tubuh (panjang tibia) yang berbeda dengan ayam kampung (lebar dada). SummaryThe shapes of T1 and T2 vertebrae from unselected Q strain mice and from strains selected for large and small body size were studied by Fourier analysis in order to ascertain whether shape change was produced by size selection. The vertebrae of large, small and control strains were easily distinguishable, but between replicate groups shape differences were less marked. The main component of shape change was size related, but mice unselected for size also showed a non-size-related shape change.

Rats, 5.5 wk of age, were food restricted for a period of 30 days duration. On termination of caloric deprivation, the food-restricted rats were 142 g lighter than comparable freely eating control rats (177 +/- 3 g vs. 319 +/- 4 g; P less than 0.001). Because of the smaller body size, adipocyte diameter in epididymal pads of the calorie-deprived rats was 52 +/- 1 micron compared to a value of 72 +/- 3 micron for the control rats (P less than 0.001). After restoration of ad libitum feeding, the food-restricted rats experienced an accelerated rate of weight gain until body weight and adipocyte diameter approached those of the control animals. The greater rate of weight gain occurred despite the fact that voluntary food intake remained essentially the same for both groups of animals. Food intake over the 18-wk-long restoration period totaled 3,078 +/- 40 g for the food-restricted rats compared to a value of 3,108 +/- 53 g for the control rats. These results demonstrate that neither body size nor the size of the adipocyte determines voluntary food intake in the rat.

Isolates of Lactic Acid Bacteria isolates assembled into a mixture of LAB as probiotics . LAB probiotic drops introduced through the mouth with the aim of suppressing pathogens and is expected to improve the health status of rooster type of medium . Isolates in the digestive tract will undergo adaptation by temperature , acidity and pH changes in the gut . The health status of the chicken can be expressed as growth to form the body weight , and the growth of LAB . In addition , AI and ND vaccination in healthy chickens conditions will produce antibodies to both . The success of vaccination can be evaluated from the results of the formation of chicken blood serum titre of research . Analysis of descriptive data on the dynamics of the growth of LAB , the formation of antibody titer and body weight gain 24-31 day old chickens . Based on the results of this study revealed that isolates of LAB can be used simultaneously in bercoccidiostat feed . LAB isolates may develop in the digestive tract rooster medium type as probiotics. The dynamics of the growth of a population produces a mixture of isolates of LAB isolates (mixture of B1, B3, B4, B5 as probiotics) in the highest reaches of the ilium and jejunum 14.00 x 10-6 13.5 x 10-6 CFU/ml. Test isolates viability of probiotic candidates in all isolates produced distilled water medium can live up to 72 hours of incubation . In addition, there is a synergy results in the formation of antibody titers ND uniform T3 treatment. T3 treatment is given probiotics 2x chicken every week for 3 weeks . In AI vaccination resulted in antibody titers are not uniform. Body weight gain reached the age of 24-31 days in a row 75.83 g, 76.54 g, 81.58 g, 87.04 g. Weight age of 31 days the average value obtained successively from the highest 329.16 g, 328.54 g, 325.54 g and 324.08 g lowest .
