This classroom action research is intended to improve instructional quality in the subject of Pancasila and Kewarganegaraan (PKn) at primary school. The main focus of this research is to discover if role play model can be implemented to improve the quality of PKn. The research, conducted at the fifth grade in Primary School 5, Municipality of Bengkulu, used observation, open interview, and field note techniques in collecting data to be analyzed qualitively. The findings show that role play model can improve the instructional quality of PKn in Primary School. Therefore it is recommended the roleplay model to be applied at 3rd through 4th grades for more learning experiences.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak melalui Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah di kelas IX E MTsN Olak Kemang Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan dua siklus yang terdiri dari: perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa kelas IX E MTsN Olak Kemang Jambi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan lembar observasi dan catatan lapangan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa pembelajaran akidah akhlak dengan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar di kelas IX E MTsN Olak Kemang Kota Jambi. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa untuk setiap indikator yang diteliti. Peningkatan aktivitas siswa yang dimaksud adalah terjadinya peningkatan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Siswa aktif merespon pertanyaan guru, mengemukakan alasan, menjelaskan kepada teman, mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompok dan membuat kesimpulan Kata Kunci: Aktivitas Siswa, Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Akidah Akhlak Abstract [Tittle: Improving Student’ Activity In Akidah Akhlak Course Through Problem Based Learning Approach]. This research was aimed to improve students’ activity in Akidah Akhlak through Problem Based Learning (PBL)at MTsN Olak Kemang Jambi city.This was a classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles in which each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation and reflection. The subject of this research was the third year students of MTsN Olak Kemang Jambi that consisted of 32 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation sheet and field note. The data then was analyzed descriptively.The result of the research showed that the use of PBL approach could improve students’ activity in Akidah Akhlak at MTsN Olak Kemang Jambi. After applying PBL approach, the students had a willingness to answer teacher’s questions, give opinions and plain them to the peers, present the result of the discussion and take conclusion. <p>This research was purposed to find out how the use of structural analysis improve the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in the academic year 2017-2018 and how significant does the use of structural analysis improve the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018. This research was classroom action research which was set out in two cycles, they are the first and second cycle. The subject of this research was E class second semester students of Business English and Management Concentration of Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in the academic year 2017-2018. Field note and test were used in collecting the data. The test consists of pre-test and progress-test. The data of the students' pre-test and progress-test score were analyzed by using the mean score and the data of the observation by using field note was analyzed descriptively. The finding of the research was structural analysis positively improved the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018 within two cycles, and the significance of the use of structural analysis in improving the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018 could be seen based on the test given they were 64 for the pre-test, 71.6 for the first progress-test and 83.4 for the second progress-test, and from the field note, that the students looked tired, sleepy, looked for answer from student beside them and could not finish the test by the time given by the researcher in the first cycle but have significant progress in the second cycle that the students looked more relax in doing the test and could finish the test by the time given by the researcher.<br />Keywords: reading comprehension, structural analysis, classroom action research.</p>

Abstract: The objective of this study was describing the application of CTL model assisted by origami media for increasing learning result of plane circumference in the fifth grade of primary school. It was a qualitative research by using Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology. The subject research was 43 students in the fifth grade in Bunuwetan Pakis primary school. The steps are: (1) Introduction, (2) Material presentment step (constructivism, inquiry, questioning, learning community, modelling, reflecting, and authentic assessment), conclusion and (3) Closing. The scoring result of this study was 80% in the activity of the teacher in cycle I, it included good category. In cycle II was getting 96% and including excellent category. The activity of the students was getting 67,14% and including quite active category. Besides, in cycle II it got 92,86%, involved very active category. The result study in cycle I was gotten from classical mastery 69,77% and the average score was 63,83. The cycle II was 81,39% and the average score was 80,93. Therefore, can be concluded that the assembling of CTL model assisted by origami could increase the learning result of the fifth grade in Bunuwetan Pakis Primary school.      Key words: CTL, origami, plane

This research aimed to describe the process of improving students’ reading comprehension of narrative text through graphic organizer strategy in SMP Regina Pacis Surakarta. It was conducted to the ninth year students, especially class VIII A as the subject of research. The researcher conducted a classroom action research. Achievement test, observation checklist and field note used as the tools of data collecting. The research findings showed that graphic organizer strategy was appropriate for teaching reading comprehension. Students’ mean score increased from 63 to 78. The students were able to map out basic components of the story such as setting, problem, goals, action, and outcomes. Graphic organizerprovides structure and organization so students were able to comprehend the story more effective.

The purpose of this study was to describe how can the design, implementation and learning outcomes in learning civics by using role playing.The research was conducted on half Odd.The research that the authors do is a classroom action research (PTK) using a qualitative and quantitative approach. The research was conducted based on observations in fifth grade of semester of Odd, SD Negeri No. 16 Sungai Putih kecamatan Bayang, when delivering materials still dominate Civics teachers teaching and students learning not active in other words, learning is still centered on the teacher. This resulted in low student learning outcomes and not as expected. To improve student learning achievement on the learning of Civics was held a classroom action research. Cycle I was held two meetings and cycle II was held one meeting with 4 stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. With the research subjects were fifth grade students of Elementary School No. 16 Sungai Putih Kecamatan Bayang. The results of data analysis showed that the use of Role Play method can improve learning outcomes of students in elementary school civics class. This can be seen from (1) Planning in cycle I 78, 57% and increased to 89,28% in cycle II, (2) Implementation from teacher aspect in cycle I 70,5% and increased to 90% in cycle II, then The students' aspect in cycle I 69% increased to 88% in cycle II, (3) Student learning outcomes in cycle I increased from 66 average value increased to 81,43 in cycle II. Thus Role Playing proved that the method can improve learning achievement of students in civics at fifth grade students’ in SD Negeri No. 16 Sungai Putih Kecamatan Bayang.

The objective of the research was to find out the application of group work method to improve students achievement in the material of the characters of multiplication at the fifth grade Inpres elementary school in Otobamba. It was a classroom action research (CAR).  The techniques to collect the data were observation, interview, documentation, and test. The subject of the research was 16 students. The finding showed that the learning achievement of students in every cycle was improved. In cycle I the average passed score was 31,25 % or 5 students and the average failed score was 68,75 % or 11 students. In cycle II, there were 16 who pass or 100%. In conclusion, mathematics teaching by using group work method can improve students achievement. Keywords: Group Work Method, Achievement, Mathematic Teaching

The objectives of the research were to find out whether snakes and ladders game can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery and to describe the class atmosphere when the snakes and ladders game is implemented in the class. The research was carried out at elementary school in  Karangmojo. The approach used in this research was a classroom action research. It was conducted from May 2014 to June 2014. The subject of the research was the fifth grade of an elementary school in Karangmojo in the academic year of 2013/2014. The researcher collected the data using qualitative and quantitative method. The result of this research showed that the use of snakes and ladders game could improve the students’ vocabulary mastery and class atmosphere. The improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery included; the students could understand the meaning of word, pronounce the words correctly,  spell the vocabulary correctly , and  use the words in appropriate context of situation. The improvement of class atmosphere included; the students’ interest toward the material increased, they were active during the lesson, and could work in group and individually. The students’ mean scores improved which could be seen from their mean score of pre-test (59.2), post-test 1 in cycle 1 (69.1), and also post-test 2 in cycle 2 (77.6).

This research is aimed at knowing whether students’ speaking ability can be improved  by using  Two Stay - Two Stray and  what  are the strengths and weaknesses of Two Stay - Two Stray   in   teaching speaking in the second semester students of FPBS IKIP Mataram in the academic years of 2013/2014. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is taken from Kemmis and McTanggart’s design; it consists of 2 cycles. Every cycle consists of four phases those are: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research is the students in IId of FPBS IKIP Mataram. Field note, questionnaire, and test are used in collecting the data. There are three tests used in this research, they are: pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 with the standard of students’ successful was 65. The findings of the research showed that (1) The students’ speaking ability improved; (2) Related to the field note results showed that the students were more confident and enthusiast in speaking. It can be seen from their participation in the class, in the conversation, and their performance in group work; and (3) Related to the questionnaire result, it is proved that the response of the students toward Two Stay – Two Stray in teaching speaking is 96%.  Based on all those findings, it can be concluded that the application of Two Stay - Two Stray can improve the students’ speaking ability.

The background of research is students have less motivation in learning English and some students feel difficult in understand vocabularies that were pronounced. As a result, they did not know the word and its meaning. It happens because they couldn’t hear the articulation of the word clearly. The objective of this research is to find out is YouTube vlog can improve students’ listening skill of eighth grade at MTs DDI Tani Aman Loa Janan.  The design of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which researcher following Kemmis and McTaggart action research procedures. The subject of this research was students of VIIIB at MTs DDI Tani Aman were about 29 students. The instrument of this research is observation checklist, test, and field note. The result of this research indicates that there was improvement of the students’ listening skill. Most of the students gradually gained good scores at the second cycle. The score of Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of English lesson was 75.00. In the preliminary study there were 2 students or 7.69% students who passed the KKM and mean score of preliminary study was 28.51. Next, the result of the first cycle showed that there were 9 students or 31.03% students who passed the KKM considering their mean score of the test gained 145.47%. next, the result of the second cycle shows that there were 27 students or 96.42% students who passed the KKM which their mean scores derived 88.21 and gained 209.40% of improvement. So, the final result is found that more than 75% students with individual score in listening skill passed the KKM.

The objective of this study was to improve the quality of learning in the subject of Restaurant indicated by the improvement of learning activities and the students’ achievement through the application of contextual learning in the department of Hospitality Engineering. This study is categorised into classroom action research. The data was analysed descriptively. The results revealed: (1) The students were more active in the learning process as indicated by the improvement of the learning activities proved by the following data: in the first cycle, the percentages of the students who pay attention to the lecturers’ explanation, answer questions by providing daily life examples, express opinions, and conduct presentations were 47.5%, 25% 12.5%, 15% respectively, while in the second cycle, they were 52.5%, 12.5%, 50%, 10% respectively. (2) The students demonstrate better mastery of the materials as indicated by the following data: the percentages of the students who achieved very good, good, fair and poor scores were 10%, 50%, 15% and 25% respectively while in the second cycle the students who achieved very good and good scores were 62.5% and 37.5% respectively.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran mata kuliah Restoran yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa Prodi PT Boga melalui penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Analisis data yang digunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) keaktifan mahasiswa pada pembelajaran Restoran meningkat, terlihat dari data siklus I, mahasiswa memperhatikan penjelasan dosen sebanyak 47,5%, mahasiswa menjawab pertanyaan dengan memberikan contoh dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sebanyak 25%, mahasiswa mengemukakan pendapat sebanyak 12,5% dan mahasiswa melakukan presentasi sebanyak 15%, pada siklus II keaktifan belajar mahasiswa memperhatikan penjelasan dosen meningkat sebesar 52,5%, menjawab pertanyaan meningkat 12,5%, mengemukakan pendapat meningkat 50%, dan kegiatan presentasi meningkat 10%; 2) tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa terhadap materi pembelajaran Restoran meningkat, terlihat dari data siklus I, 10% mahasiswa memperoleh nilai amat baik, 50% mahasiswa memperoleh nilai baik, 15% mahasiswa memperoleh cukup, dan 25% mahasiswa memperoleh nilai kurang, pada siklus II, hasil belajar mahasiswa pada siklus II adalah 62,5% mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai amat baik dan 37,5% mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai baik.
