Self-efficacy of students plays a role in determining student success in learning, including learning mathematics. Affective aspects such as self-efficacy, play a major role when students work and use mathematics, because to be able to solve mathematical problems is not enough just to know how to do it, but must be accompanied by self-efficacy about the truth of the concepts and procedures they have. This research was conducted in two groups of students using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire to measure students' self-efficacy. Observation data collection techniques were also conducted to determine the learning process of the two groups. The results showed that groups of students who used active and cooperative learning had higher self-efficacy. Keywords: self-efficacy, mathematics, cooperative learning.

ABSTRACT The process of learning chemistry which only focused on teacher as informant caused the students’ memory lower. This could make the students’ learning outcomes lower, thus, it was needed STAD type of Cooperative Learning Method which had the process of interaction between student and teacher, and could help the students comprehend the material. Therefore, it was necessary to make a research which had the purpose to know the difference between students’ learning outcomes and memory which used STAD type ofCooperative Learning Method and lectures teaching method as well as how large the effect of STAD type of Cooperative Learning Method on salt hydrolysis material was. This research was Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of the research was choosen by using saturated sampling which XI IPA 1 as experimental class and XI IPA 2 as control class. The techniques of data collection used measurement technique, observation, and interview while the tools of data collection used tests such as essayquestion, observation sheet, and interview guide. The statistical analysis of posttest result using U-man whitney test obtained significant value 0.000. This value was smaller than α (0.005) which meant that there was difference in learning outcome between experimental and control class. The statistical analysis result of U-man whitney delayed test obtained significant value 0.006, this value was smaller than α (0.005) which meant that there was difference between students’ memory in experimental and control class. The calculation of effect size showed value 1.64 with high criteria which gave high effect on students’ learning outcomes which was 44.95%, while the calculation of students’ memory effect size showed value 0.69 with moderate criteria which gave effect on students’ memory which was 26,42%. The COVID 19 pandemic also has an impact on the education and training aspects of the State Civil Apparatus. MOT training in Puslatbang PKASN LAN, which was originally carried out by blended learning in 2019, has been changed to fully online learning in 2020, as an effort to reduce the spread of the COVID 19 virus. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there are differences on the learning outcomes between MOT participants in 2019, which attended by 30 people, and MOT participants in 2020, which attended by 25 people. Data processing and analysis techniques in this study using quantitative methods. The statistical test used is the non-parametric statistical test using the Mann Whitney U test. The sampling technique used was total sampling, where all members of the population were used as samples. The results revealed that there was no difference in the learning outcomes of MOT participants between those using the blended learning method and those using the fully online learning method. Based on this information, fully online learning is very possible to be applied. Nevertheless, the Training Institution must pay attention to the availability of facilities and infrastructure that support the learning process electronically. Also, the limited interaction between lecturers and participants when doing online learning should be balanced with the ability of lecturers to convey material with technology-based learning techniques. In this case, the roles of all parties will determine the optimal achievement of the fully online learning process.

This study aims to reveal the effect of the use of cooperative learning models with talking stick method assisted by problem question on students learning learning competencies. This research was conducted at SMPN 23 Padang on global warming material. This research is an experimental study with the design of the Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population of this study was all students of class VII of SMPN 23 Padang. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a learning outcome test with multiple choice questions, and an attitude and skills assessment in the form of an observation sheet. Knowledge and attitude competency data use t test, while skill competency uses t’ test. This study was conducted as an attempt to investigate in what step of scientific approach theteachers most frequently use translation in English Language Teaching as well as to find out the teachers’reasons toward the use of translation in English Language Teaching based on scientific approach atSMP Negeri 4 Singaraja and SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja. It was conducted in qualitative research design. There were two teachers chosen as the subjects of study. The data were collected through audio recordingthe teaching and learning process and interviewing the subjects of study, while the techniques ofanalyzing data were done descriptively following the four processes according to the theory of Miles &Huberman (1984), namely: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Theresults of analysis indicated that the teachers most frequently used translation in exploring step of scientificapproach. In addition, there were seven teachers’ reasons found in relation to the use of translationin the classroom, namely to help the students’ difficulty in: (1) understanding the instruction given bythe teacher, (2) understanding the English vocabulary, (3) asking something in English, (4) understandingthe tenses or grammar, (5) understanding the material deeply, (6) doing the task, and (7) presentingtheir work. The related parties interested in the same area of the research should give deeper concern indoing wider range of aspects involved in further study. Keywords : Translation, the Use of L1 in ELT, Scientific Approach
