The aim of this research was to study the determinants of automobile sales in Indonesia. The automobile sales were the sales of car and motorcycle during 1986-2016. The research focused on five macroeconomics variables (exchange rate, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), growth of GDP, inflation, and interest rate). The total sample was 30 years of automobile sales in Indonesia. The researcher used the regression method with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to test the research model. For a few variables, lag t-1 was used. The empirical results show that GDP and the growth of GDP have a significant influence on both car and motorcycle sales in Indonesia. The growth of GDP reaches a significant level at α < 1%. However, the exchange rate of USD to IDR, inflation, and interest rate do not influence automobile sales in Indonesia.

The quality of the loan portfolio in Albanian banking system is facing many obstacles during the last decade. In this paper we look at possible determinants of assets quality. During the recent financial crisis commercial banks were confronted with deteriorating asset quality that threatened not only the banking industry, but also the stability of the entire financial system. This study aims to examine the correlation between non-performing loans and the macroeconomic determinants in Albania during the last decade. NPLs are considered to be of a high importance as they represent the high risk exposure of banking system. A solid bank with healthy assets increases the market efficiency. Our approach is based on a panel data regression analysis technique from 2005-2015. Within this methodology this study finds robust evidence on the existing relationship between lending interest rate, real GDP growth and NPLs. We expect to find a negative relationship between lending interest rate and asset quality. Further we assume an inverse relationship between GDP growth and non-performing loans, suggesting that NPLs decrease if the economy is growing. Furthermore this study proposes a solution platform, which looks deeper into the possibility of creating a secondary active market for troubled loans, restructuring the banking system or implementing the Podgorica model. This research paper opens a new lieu of discussion in terms of academic debates and decision-making policies.

Objectives: Assault induced trauma (AIT) is a public health concern that must be addressed and acknowledged. To our knowledge, in Oman, this issue has not been studied before. This study aims to characterize cases of AIT presenting to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH). Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study of patients presenting with AIT to the emergency department of SQUH fromthe 1 January 2007 to the 31 of December 2018. Data obtained included incidence, patients’ demographics, mode of assault, triaging, management and hospital stay. The data were collected using the Hospital Information System “TrakCare” and analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Results: The total cases of AIT identified were 268 cases and 239 fulfilled the study criteria. The highest incidence recorded was in 2018 accounting for 72 cases. The sample was predominantly composed of males at 81%, and 58% of the total cases were Omani citizens. In addition, 66% of the total sample were between the age of 20 and 39. The most common mode of assault implicated was the use ofbodily force (35%).Additionally, 18% were triaged as red cases. In terms of management, 84% of the cohort were treated non-surgically. No incidence of in-patient mortality was recorded. Conclusion: This is the first study that looked into AIT in Oman. Results of this study will aid in providing basis for future research and estimation of the magnitude of this problem in the community. Keywords: cervical smears, conventional slides, ThinPrep slides, cervical organisms.

India is one of the leading countries in consuming and manufacturing alcoholic beverages in the last few years. Alcohol is one of the major players in contributing an important role in India’s economy. Individuals are aware of the fact that advertisement of tobacco, cigarettes, and alcohol is banned in our country, but the leverage has been granted of promoting the brand through surrogate marketing. There are many traditional methods that are still successful in the promotion of alcohol like hoardings and banner, but some modern ways are promotion through social media, ladies’ night, etc. This study aims to explore the various promotional practices performed by alcohol companies and analyze the customer attitude towards it. A questionnaire survey was used to collect the customers’ primary data by visiting various clubs and bars. The total number of questionnaires that were analyzed is 200 using statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS). The result of SPSS was reviewed based on the hypothesis formed and the relationship is determined between various variables. With the help of results, we connected it to a research model related to consumer attitude. This study concluded that promotional activities play an important role and mostly impact brand awareness. Despite surrogate marketing, the entire liquor brands can target their customer through some memorable promotional strategies and successfully understand the consumer’s attitude towards them.

This study examined the effect of macroeconomic determinants of stock price movements in Nigeria. To achieve this objective, data were gathered on macroeconomic variables such as gross domestic product, exchange rate, inflation, interest rate and absolute stock price were captured for the purpose of analysis. The autoregressive distributive lag (ARDL) model was used in analyzing the macroeconomic determinants of stock price movement in Nigeria. The augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root test was also engaged in order to ascertain the stationarity or otherwise of the variables. The ADF unit root test revealed that only interest rate was stationary at levels while the remaining variables became stationary when differenced once. The ARDL findings revealed that the determinants variables (GDP, EXCHR, INTR, and INFL) were not jointly co-integrated with the dependent variable, ASTP, hence, no existence of a long run relationship. Conclusively, there was no long run relationship between macroeconomic determinants and stock price movements in Nigeria. It was recommended that, government should create conducive business environment, strengthen the real sector to stimulate the economy, boost savings and stock investment. Finally, government should fine tune its policies on exchange rate determination and setup a consistent policy plan to stimulate investment in the capital market.

The estimation of stature from bones plays an important role in identifying unknown bodies, body parts, or skeletal remains, as it is an important component of the biological profile in forensic identification. The objective of this study is to enhance the development of forensic anthropology in Romania by creating a new regression formula for stature estimation. This can be accomplished from the length of the tibia, taking into account sex and age, for the Romanian adult population. A total of 137 cases from a delimited territory of Romania were included in the study. The length of the tibia and the stature of the individuals were measured before autopsy. Statistical analysis was carried using (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) SPSS 23. Tibia length showed a high correlation with stature for males, females, and the total sample. Four regression formulae were created for stature estimation of Romanian males, females, and unknown sex. The results of the analysis are impressive and have a good applicability in a forensic anthropological context. The data used in this paper provide reliable results with a large applicability in the future for estimating stature from the tibia length for the Romanian adult population.

Abstract This study aims to examine the determinants of the MIR interest rate in the Euro area for the period 2003Q1-2015Q3. By employing Fixed and Random Effects as econometric methodologies, I examine whether the MIR rate is affected by the following macroeconomic factors: unemployment rate, inflation rate, GDP growth, political stability index, and wages as percentage of GDP. All these factors have been found to be significant drivers of the MIR rate and thus, they have to be taken into consideration when designing macro-prudential policies. The findings in this paper provide alternative explanations for the empirical evidence concerning interest rate spreads behaviour.

The paper focuses on the impact of macroeconomic determinants on industrial productivity in Nigeria for the period, 1981-2013. It was discovered that while the Nigerian government had embarked on a number of industrial development strategies with the sole purpose of boasting industrial productivity in Nigeria, they seem to have yielded little or no result. The macroeconomic variables in the study include industrial production index, exchange rate, consumer price index, interest rate, broad money supply, foreign direct investment, credit to manufacturing sector and gross domestic product. The study employed OLS technique and found that exchange rate exert significant positive impact on industrial productivity in Nigeria. Also, the impact of interest rate, FDI and real GDP on industrial production index is positive. On the other hand, consumer price index, broad money supply and credit to manufacturing sector exert negative impact on industrial development in Nigeria. The paper recommended that a workable M2 that can enhance credit to manufacturing sector and at the same time control interest rate to boast investment should be determined.
