Digital portfolio and its impact on the quality of learning assessment processAbstractThe teaching and learning process can be nominated as a quality process if there is consistency between its personal and none-personal components. Those components are related in dialectical unity and for that reason, for the process to be effective each of those components must present high standards. In this paper, the assessment component is specially analyzed. Particularly, a case of how digital portfolios improve the quality of teaching and learning process providing a platform for innovation among students and teachers together through mutual feedback is presented. In order to support the previous statement some outcomes achieved in the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas in Cuba are also presented.

This research was conducted for the purpose of getting a clear and complete
picture conserning the quality of teaching and learning process through eveloping and implementing jigsaw type cooparative learning model for subject of Thermodynamics. The quality of teaching and learning process can be viewed by positive response of university students towards thermodynamics subject using the implemented jigsaw type cooparative learning model. The subject of this research were students of high school class X, semester II in the academic year of 2011/2012, which were listed as learning tools needed for thermodynamics of jigsaw type cooparative learning model. The learning tool which were being developed consist of teaching materials, learning plan, and student worksheet. The research prosedure consisted of developing the tools of teaching and learning process, and the followed by realization of learning in class using the jigsaw type cooparative learning approach. The research instruments were to be observation sheet and student response questionaire towards the learning process. The reseach data were analyzed using percentage statistic. Based on the refection result towards the action which was planned beforehand and also the researh result discussion, it was found that the learning process of hermodynamics which was done by implementing the jigsaw type cooparative learning model can increase student activity in his study. Implementing the jigsaw type cooperative learning can increase the learning result of students. Most of the students who partisipated in the thermodynamics class agree and give a positive apreciation towards the implementation of cooperative learning model. They believe that with the learning group can help them overcoming the learning deterrent.

So that this causes a low quality of learning in Social Sciences, especially in SMP Negeri 21 Pontianak. This cases has tickled the writer to take the theme of research on picture and picture cooperative methods to improve the quality of learning and increase the interest and activity of students in teaching and learning activities in Social Sciences. As for the techniques used of data collection is through observation by teachers and collaborators. The research involved two cycles of 42 students. While the data analysis used description with percentage techniques. Furthermore the level of activity of students and teachers is expressed in the category of "very good", "good" or "moderate", while the success of using picture and picture cooperative methods is stated as "successful", "less successful", or "unsuccessful".The results of this reseacrh with picture and picture cooperative methods have been successful, which is showing indicated by an increase in student activity of learning because it has reached the specified criteria is 81% of students are actively involved, while teacher activities reach 86.53%, as well as student learning outcomes with a value of 78.57, where this shows that it is exceeding the KKM value of 72, with a percentage of completeness of 76%, which has exceeded the criteria of 75%.

This writing aims to motivate students to be more disciplined in the learning process and can also improve and develop students’ understanding in solving problems. In order for these objectives to be achieved and the quality of learning to increase, the writing of a combination of Inside-Outside Circle Learning Method and Task and Forced Learning Strategies was conducted. The Inside-Outside Circle Learning Method is learning with a system of small circles and large circles in which students share information at the same time with different pairs briefly and regularly. While the Task and Forced Learning Strategy is alearning strategy that emphasizes the discipline and self-awareness of students with the assignment of tasks that force students to finish on time. As for this strategy combined, it is expected to overcome and cover the lack of the Inside-Outside Circle Learning Method. The result of the discussion show that the combination of Inside-Outside Circle Learning Method and Task and Forced Learning Strategies has a major influence on improving student understanding in completing tasks, making student learning outcomes better, students becoming more disciplined and more active in learning, and students accustomed to preparing self by learning before starting teaching and learning activities. Therefore, this combination is very necessary in the learning process and can be applied to improve the quality of learning in schools.

The current study investigated the outlook of sandwich programmes from the lenses of students, based on the acceptability of the programme, quality of the teaching and learning process as well as the challenges sandwich students face. With a survey research design, 250 sandwich students answered questions on the three constructs. At the end of the study, the researchers found evidence that there were no significant differences in the acceptability of sandwich programme, quality of sandwich programmes, challenges of sandwich students, based on gender as well as age. Males and females as well as older and younger students provided similar responses. Secondly, there was a significant difference in the three constructs, based on programme of study. Students offering different programmes provided different information. Thirdly, out of the three constructs, the challenges that sandwich students face had a significant difference in terms of their employment status. Students who were employed and those who were not employed gave different responses. Fourthly, there was a strong positive correlation among the three constructs. Finally, age, quality of sandwich programmes, and challenges of sandwich student’s constructs were good predictors of the acceptability of the sandwich programmes. The researchers recommend that there should be a close look at the age of students, the quality of teaching and learning process, and the challenges of sandwich students in order to determine the sustenance of sandwich programmes. Keywords: Acceptability of Sandwich Programme, Quality of Sandwich Programmes, Challenges of Sandwich Students, Sandwich Students, Distance Education.
