This study aimed to evaluate the effect of relaxation music therapy (RMT) to reduce academic anxiety before carrying out the final academic exam. The type of this research is Pre-Experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study were 51 final year students preparing for their final academic examinations at Universitas Jambi, using purposive sampling. The instrument used was an anxiety scale. Data analysis used nonparametric statistical techniques using the Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test and the Rasch Model. The results show that there is an effect of RMT to reduce academic anxiety of final year students at Universitas Jambi. Furthermore, the ability of students to respond to the pretest was still in anxious condition which resulted in the results of the pretest being still moderate (mean measure = 0.04 logit). In contrast, when RMT has been given treatment, the student's ability to respond to the posttest has become low (mean measure = -0.49 logit). These findings could be used by counselors to reduce academic anxiety of final year students at the University and the implications of guidance and counseling are discussed further.

Abstract Background The aim of the current study was to evaluate the structural validity of the 20-item long-term conditions questionnaire (LTCQ) and to explore a potential short-form version of the scale using Rasch analysis. Methods Data were collected through postal surveys (February 2016–January 2017) from a sample of 1,211 participants diagnosed with at least one long-term condition (LTC). Identified participants were invited through either local authorities for a social care cohort (n = 294) or primary care practices for a health care cohort (n = 917). Participants were mailed a survey, including the LTCQ, demographic questions, a comorbidities measure, and other validated outcome measures. Respondents were invited to complete a follow-up survey including the LTCQ for assessment of reproducibility. Results The main assumptions of the Rasch model from the LTCQ were fulfilled, although infit and outfit indices indicated some items showed misfit. Misfitted items, items that did not have a preceding set or showed some local dependence were removed one at a time, with the remaining candidate items to form an 8-item short version, the LTCQ-8. The Rasch model for the LTCQ-8 explained 64% variance and had a reliability estimate greater than 0.80. Several items in the LTCQ showed uniform differential item function (DIF) in relation to the number of reported LTCs, age, cohort and type of LTCs, but fewer items exhibited DIF in the LTCQ-8. Spearman’s rho correlations between the LTCQ and the LTCQ-8 were strong across the total sample and various subgroups. Correlations between the LTCQ-8 and all reference measures were moderate to strong, and comparable to correlations found between the LTCQ and these measures. Conclusions The LTCQ measures a unidimensional construct, and it is therefore acceptable to use a summed total score. The LTCQ-8 also met the assumption of unidimensionality and had comparable construct validity with the LTCQ. Additional validation is required in an independent sample.

Madurese people are known as people who have a habit of pairing children at an early age, and some are even toddlers or babies still in the womb who have been booked for matchmaking. Early matchmaking in Madura is one of the causes of early marriage, and then it causes school dropouts. It needs attention from an influential person in the people, one of which is an Islamic preacher (da’i). The da’i perception of these social realities is important so that they can provide understanding to the Madurese people about the early matchmaking well. This study aims to answer: (1) how is Madura da’i perception about early matchmaking, and (2) how is the typology of Madura da’i on early matchmaking. To achieve these objectives, the author uses qualitative-field methods by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. While for data analysis, the author uses the phenomenology theory. The result of this study: Madura da’i perceives early matchmaking as i'tikad (effort) that is an effort of parents who need to protect and worry about their children. Madura da’i also perceives that early matchmaking in Madura contains values of Islam; those are: (a) minimizing of approaching adultery, (b) inviting to follow sunnah, and (c) inviting to keep the family relationship. Besides that, there are two typologies of Madura da’i about early matchmaking; the first type is da’i who agrees to early matchmaking; the second type is da’i who disagrees with early matchmaking. They agree with early matchmaking as long as it does not end in early marriage. Otherwise, they do not agree if early matchmaking results in early marriages, and considering early marriages that do not lead to marriages sometimes causes hostility between families. The type of da’i who refuses is more suggesting that children are directed to the world of education first before being charged with the thinking of matchmaking or marriage.

This paper aims to provide new insights on the importance of family catechesis during the Covid 19 pandemic. During the Covid 19 pandemic, religious activities have been eliminated or restricted. Normally, Catholics can celebrate worship at church, but that will no longer be possible after the government prohibits gathering to prevent the transmission of the Coronavirus. Therefore, this situation hinders the formation of the faith of the people. Then, there was a shift in the celebration of faith which was originally held in the church to be carried out in the family during the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore, family catechesis in this regard plays an important role in the celebration of faith within the family itself. The methodology is a qualitative method. The data were collected from books, news, and journals. For data analysis, this study used a deductive method with maggid ritual catechesis model as a perspective. This study found that family catechesis with the maggid ritual catechesis model can answer what the Catholic family missed during the Covid 19 pandemic, namely the celebration of togetherness, the experience of community faith, internalization, and transformation.

Key words: Catechesis, Faith Celebration, Family, Maggid Ritual
