Kondisi pembelajaran yang statis dipandang tidak proporsional karena menyebabkan peserta didik merasa terbebani, bosan dan jenuh. Kejenuhan belajar didefinisikan sebagai kelelahan fisik, emosional, dan mental yang dialami oleh siswa yang ditandai dengan penurunan motivasi dan minat peserta didik dalam pembelajaran, motivasi dan minat yang rendah dapat mengakibatkan penurunan prestasi belajar siswa. Kejenuhan belajar terjadi karena proses belajar siswa dilakukan secara terus menerus dan untuk waktu yang lama namun tidak mendapatkan kesuksesan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektivitas ice breaking dalam mengurangi kejenuhan peserta didik pada saat pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian tersebut adalah peserta didik kelas VIII.1 MTs Negeri 2 Pasaman, yaitu 41 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada penurunan skor rata-rata kejenuhan siswa sebesar 19,07. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan ice breaking membuat proses pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan kualitas dan hilangnya kejenuhan peserta didik sebesar 15,31%. Rekomendasi kepada guru agar kreatif menciptakan suasana belajar yang menarik dan menyenangkan, salah satunya dengan menerapkan permainan ice breaking dalam proses pembelajaran agar proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih optimal.The demands of learning and teaching and learning activities that menoton judged disproportionate so as to make students feel burdened, bored and saturated. Learning saturation is defined as physical, emotional, and mental fatigue experienced by students characterized by decreased motivation and interest in student learning, which can result in decreased student learning achievement. The saturation of learning occurs because the learning process of students is done continuously and for a long time but does not get success. The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of ice breaking to reduce the saturation of students' learning. The research uses quantitative approach with quasi experimental design non equivalent pretest post test control group. The research sample was grade VIII.1 MTsN 2 Pasaman students, which is 41 people. The results showed that there was a decrease in the average score of student saturation of 19.07. A significant change in learning saturation score of 15.31%.  Recommendations to teachers in order to creatively create an interesting and fun learning atmosphere, one of which is by applying ice breaking games in the learning process so that the learning process becomes more optimal.

This research aims to find out the effect of Student Facilitator and Explaining  model towards students' learning competencies, which still below from the average and  there have no learning process that pursue the students  to be active and creative until the students can increase their learning competencies; both cognitive and affective rather for students psikimotor  in learning process. The research was quasi-experimental reserach with randomize control  group post-test only design. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique which grade VII.3 as the experimental group and garde VII.4 as the control group. The population of this research was VII grade students that devided into seven classes at SMPN 4 Koto XI Tarusan in academic year 2018/2019. The result of this research showed  the average score for grade VII.3 was (77,15) for experimental group and  (68,52) for control group in students' learning competency. Then for  behavioural competence the  average score in experimental group was (84,08) and the control group reached (78,96) which the data was distributed normally and variant homogeneously. In hyphotesis testing was found by the formula tcount> ttable, learning competency (2,73 > 1,68), behavioural competency (2,77 > 1,68).  Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the Student Facilitator and Explaining model give positive effect for the students' learning competency in global warming material at SMPN 4 Koto XI Tarusan.

Vocabulary is an essential component in learning English. It influences four English skills; they are listening, speaking, reading, and writing, for getting a good result in English. In teaching learning process, the teacher often implements the less interesting method, technique, or even media of vocabulary mastery in teaching and learning process which make the students to be bored, inactive, an uniterested in memorizing English vocabulary. Some media can be interested as the solutions in vocabulary mastery, they are Snake Ladders media and Scrabble media.The investigation was undergone by quantitative research. The researcher applied experimental research. This research underwent pre-test post-test control group design. To analyze data, t-test formula is used to measure the result of collected data. From the t-test measurement, it showed that t-test is 3.15 and t-table is 2.66. It means that t-hit > t-table. Based on the collected data, there is different result of using Snake Ladders from Scrabble media toward students’ vocabulary mastery. It was found that the students who are taught by using Snake Ladders resulted significant outcome than those are instructed by Scrabble media. It means that Snake Ladders is effective to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery.

This research aims to find out the effect of Two Stay Two stray  model towards students' learning competencies, which still below from the average and  there have no learning process that pursue the students  to be active and creative until the students can increase their learning competencies; knowledge, attitude and skill  in learning process. The research was quasi-experimental reserach with control  group post-test only design. The population of this research was X IPA grade students that devided into five classes at SMAN 4 Pariaman in academic year 2018/2019. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique which grade  X IPA3 as the experimental group and grade X IPA1 as the control group. The result of this research showed  the average score for grade X IPA3 was (75,43) for experimental group and  (67,57) for control group in students' learning competencies. Then for  behavioural competence the  average score in experimental group was (84,21) and the control group reached (81,86) which the data was distributed normally and variant homogeneously. In hyphotesis testing was found by the formula tcount> ttable, learning competency (3,15 > 1,67), behavioural competency (1,76 > 1,67).  Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the Two Stay Two Stray model give positive effect for the students' learning competencies in ecosystem at SMAN 4 Pariaman.

<p><em>Learning process and student learning outcomes have a close relationship. A good learning process improves student learning outcomes. Improvement of student learning outcomes is determined by how the learning process is done by teachers. Talking about the learning process is the same as talking about learning and teaching methods. There are many methods of teaching and  learning. The teachers and students live to have the method which is in accordance with the conditions of each class. This research tries one of interactive teaching and learning method, that is group discussion. With group discussions the students are invited to discuss lesson themes in social science subjects. To measure the increase of student learning outcomes with this group discussion method then conducted Pre Test about the students' knowledge before the learning process. After the group discussion intervention the teacher performed a Post Test. The result can be said that the teaching and learning methods with group discussion effectively to improve student learning outcomes.</em></p><p><em><br /> <strong>Keywords:   </strong>Learning Method, Group Discussion, Pre Test, Post Test</em></p>

This research is entitled “Using graphic organizer strategy in teaching writing on narrative paragraph (experimental research). Writing is a very important subject that should be learned by English learners. The students should be able to express their ideas and opinion either in the form of a sentence or paragraph. However, the researcher found that many students at the Second Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Luas could not express their ideas and develop into the paragraph. Hence, the appropriate strategy of teaching and learning is very important to help students master writing skills. This research aims to know the effect of achievement between the students who are taught writing by using graphic organizers from those taught writing in the narrative by using traditional methods. This research was experimental research and used a quasi-experimental design. The samples chosen in this research were the whole students of class VIII2 and VIII4 of SMPN 1 Tanah Luas. Class VIII2 consisted of 25 students was chosen as experimental group and class VIII4 consisted of 24 students was chosen as control group. This research was conducted in three phrases; there were pre-test, treatments and post-test. The data collection technique used in this research was test. The tests were pre-test and post-test. The researcher gave pre-test before giving treatment and post-test after giving treatment. The treatment was conducted in three meetings. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. The research result and the hypothesis authentication found by using t-test formula in significant level 5% or α = 0.05 were obtained that ttest > ttable. The ttest found in this research was 3.91. Meanwhile, ttable was gotten from the list of distribution value with degree of freedom = 47, because the data not in the table, the researcher used interpolation approach and obtained = 1.67. So >  = 3.91 > 1.67. It meant that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. So, graphic organizer strategy significantly affects the students’ ability in mastering writing.   Kata Kunci: graphic organizer strategy, teaching and learning, writing narrative paragraph

ABSTRACT This research was carried out to know the effectiveness of implementing KWL strategy to improve students’ reading comprehension of report text and to know whether there is a significant achievement difference between students who were taught with KWL strategy and those who were not. The instrument used was a multiple choice reading comprehension test. Seventy two eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 1 Bae Kudus were selected as the sample. They were divided equally into experimental and control group. The data collection involved pre-test, treatments, and post-test. The result of the implementation of KWL strategy in the experimental group improved the students’ participation, motivation, and interest during teaching and learning process. In addition, the results of pre-test and post-test showed that mean score of the experimental group had a higher increase from 74.58 to 90.97 than the control group (from 72.77 to 87.77). However, the Independent Sample Test showed there was no significant achievement difference between the students who were taught with KWL strategy and those who were not. Teachers have a duty to encourage, guide and provide learning facilities to achieve goals. Teachers have a responsibility to see everything that happens in the classroom to help student development. Teachers must be able to carry out their duties properly by first having to understand carefully the matters relating to the teaching and learning process, because the success of the learning process is supported by the ability of the teacher to develop and generate activeness and students in the learning process. The research method used is the Quasi Experiment (Quasi Experimental Method) with the research design as the basis for the implementation of the research is to distinguish the influence of the Inquiry method and the effect of conventional methods on learning outcomes of Citizenship Education in terms of high learning motivation and low learning motivation where the treatment class is class Va student and Vb class. The following is presented sequentially descriptive data regarding: (1) Civics learning outcomes students are taught using scramble learning model, (2) Civics student learning outcomes are taught using the expository model, (3) Civics student learning outcomes have high learning motivation, (4) Civics student learning outcomes have motivation to learn low, (5)Civics learning outcomes of students who have high learning motivation are taught with the Scramble learning model, (6) Civics learning outcomes of students who have low learning motivation are taught with the Scramble learning model, (7) Civics learning outcomes of students who have high learning motivation are taught using the expository learning model, (8) Civics learning outcomes of students who have low learning motivation are taught using the expository learning model.

The objective of the study is to identify: (1) the influence of Tabata training from the perspective of “Good” category in preliminary VO2Max level; (2) the influence of Tabata training from the perspective of “Moderate” category in preliminary VO2Max level; (3) the influence of Tabata training from the perspective of “Poor” category in preliminary VO2Max level; and (4) the appropriate preliminary VO2Max level that should be assigned on the Tabata training method. Looking at the objective of the study, the nature of the study is indeed quantitative while the method that had been implemented is the quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent (pre-test and post-test) control group design. Within the conduct of the study, the number of the sample that had been involved was 60 respondents and these samples were gathered by means of quota sampling. Then, the data that had been gathered were analysed by using the paired sample t-test in order to test the hypotheses that had been assigned. The results of the study show that the Tabata training method is appropriate to be assigned in the “Moderate” category of preliminary VO2Max level. Departing from the conclusion, it might be implied that the study might be conducted further by adding the number of the sample and by adding the different type of samples.

Religious values need are very imporant for convicts at LPKA Class two Pekanbaru. Religion is an obvious influenced source in issuing the meaning of life to convicts. The research objective is to know how far the influence of gratefulness training in improving life meaning of convicts at LPKA class two Pekanbaru is.The researcher used experiment approaching pre and post-test control group designwith 23 control groupsand 23 treatment groups,anddata analysis independent sample t-test was obtained score  t= 6,894 (p<0,01). Average score from treatment group are higher  (23,057) than control group average (15,6). It shows that life meaning of convicts who get gratefulness training are higher than convicts who don’t join the training. With thus, it can be concluded that gratefulness training very influence significantly to the life meaning of convicts at LPKA class 2 Pekanbaru.

The scaffolded reading experience framework consists of a set of prereading, during-reading, and post-reading activities to use with any genre of text, including fiction and nonfiction. The aim of this study was the effectiveness of scaffolded reading experience in teaching reading comprehension to the students of Musi Rawas University? The method used in this research was quasi-experimental method. The population of this study was all of the students of Musi Rawas University. The sample of this study was students of accounting study progrom in first semester taken through convenience non random sampling. The data were collected through a written test. It was pre-test and post test. The data analyzed through t-test formula. From this study it was found that the students’ pre-test average score in the experimental group was 55 and in the control group was 53.91. Meanwhile the students’ post-test average score in the experimental group was 80 and the students’ average score in the control group was 75. In addition of t-obtained were 2.049 where the value of t-table was 1.684 at df 74 in significance level of 0.05 and with one-tailed testing. Since the value of t-obtained was higher than the critical value of the t-table (2.049>1.684), it can be concluded that, teaching reading comprehension by using scaffolded reading experience (SRE) to the students of Musi Rawas University was effective.
