Intersectionality has been recognized and widely taken by interdisciplinary fields that include Cultural studies, American studies, and Media studies to demonstrate a range of social issues. It focuses on the experiences of people in a different social and political context. The intersectional framework confronts significant social division axes that include race, class, gender, and disability that function together and influence each other. These social axes operate the power structures of a particular society that can cause inequality and discrimination. In literary studies, women's representation is no more confined to European and American academic writings. Within the feminist framework, the South Asian fiction writers also demonstrate a feminist approach in their works. Pakistani authors have indicated religion's exploitation as one of the central intersectional tropes in their literary work. Bapsi Sidhwa is one of the prominent feminist voices from Pakistan in diasporic English Literature. One of her novels, Water (2006), is based on Deepa Mehta's award-winning film, explores the life of the marginal and subaltern Hindu widows in India. The problem in this analysis is the motivator character from the story that he can change a lot of people around him. This motivator has brought the most of characters in the novel to become the better person. Not only have the people who love and respect him, but he also changed the people that hate him through his act of persuasion. In this study, the researcher applies the psychological analysis and genetic structuralism, it has a role to explain literary work as structure base on the elements that formed them, which are society and social life. The topic of this case study is Clash of ideas and sensibility in writings of Joseph Conrad and Chinua Achebe. I have portrayed how both the authors have represented Africa in their writings. Joseph Conrad is a European whereas Chinua Achebe is an African. Both of them have contrary views about the people of Africa and Africa as a country.  Both show some of the effects that the white colonists had on the area, and the influence they had on the natives. In Heart of Darkness, we see the influence of Kurtz over the natives at the Inner Station, where they revered him almost as a god. At the other stations, we also see the natives being affected by the white colonists, changing their ways of living around the station, and following what the white men's command, for the most part. In Things Fall Apart, we see this in Okonkwo’s home village, where the white colonists set up a District Commissioner (D.C), and the natives bend to the laws he sets, even helping him enforce them. This completely changes their previous way of life.

Palavras-chave: Ariano Suassuna; Luiz Fernando Carvalho; minissérie; A Pedra do Reino; Sinésio.Abstract: The aim of this paper is to compare the miniseries A Pedra do Reino (2007), co-produced by Rede Globo and Academia de Filmes and directed by Luiz Fernando Carvalho, and the literary work that originated it, Ariano Suassuna’s novel Romance d’A Pedra do Reino e o príncipe do sangue do vai-e-volta (1971). The analysis concerns the portrayal of Sinésio, a character who is the narrator’s cousin and nephew and who preserves his ambiguous nature in both pieces, miniseries and book. On the one hand, he is seen as a Messiah by the narrator and the poor people in the backlands of Paraíba, who compare him to Portuguese king Dom Sebastião and to Jesus Christ. On the other hand, he is seen as an impostor by the local elite, who believe that he is trying to get the people to fight for the Communist Revolution on behalf of Luís Carlos Prestes. Carvalho conceived the miniseries as a homage to Suassuna’s eightieth birthday and, although being able to change whatever was needed when adapting the novel to the screen, he chose to keep the essence and the most important aspects of the source by, at the same time, making various references to other texts and discourse genres. Keywords: Ariano Suassuna; Luiz Fernando Carvalho; miniseries; A Pedra do Reino; Sinésio.
