Reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus) java locality is highly demand as pet animal. Respiratory and pulse rate were important physiological data needed for diagnostic references. The aim of this research was to study the repiratory and pulse rate on Java M. reticulatus. Thirthy healthy adult Java M. reticulatus were used in this study. The respiratory rate recorded by counting inspiratory and expiratory movement of the thorax for one minute and pulse rate recorded by heart palpation for one minute, measured at 6-8 AM and at 4-6 PM for five consecutive days. Temperature and humidity were record as secondary data. The data were analyzed using independent t-Test. The respiratory rate in this study recorded in the morning ranged 5-48 breaths/minute averaging 20 breaths/minute and in the evening ranged 7-49 breaths/minute averaging 24 breaths/minute. The pulse rate in the morning ranged 21-68 beats per minute (bpm) averaging 45.5 bpm and in the evening ranged 40-82 bpm averaging 56 bpm. Totally, M. reticulatus having the respiratory rate 5-49 breaths/minute and pulse rate 21-82 bpm. The morning temperature ranged 25-27oC and the evening 26-27.5oC. The range of morning and evening air humidity is 66-75% and 65-70% respectively. The results showed that the comparison of respiratory rate (R) and pulse rate (P) were in normal range namely 1:2.25 in the morning and 1:2.33 in the evening. There were no significant differences (P>0.05) between morning and evening respiratory rate and no significant effect (P>0.05) of temperature and humidity on respiratory and pulse rate. It could be concluded that healthy adult Java M. reticulatus has a respiratory rate 5-49 breaths/minute dan pulse rate 21-82 bpm.

1. We investigated the usefulness of neuropeptide Y as a plasma marker for phaeochromocytoma, ganglioneuroblastoma and neuroblastoma using a simple and highly sensitive r.i.a. for human neuropeptide Y. 2. Plasma immunoreactive neuropeptide Y concentrations were measured without extraction in plasma samples (100 μl) from patients with various diseases. 3. The plasma immunoreactive neuropeptide Y concentration in patients with phaeochromocytoma (172.3 ± 132.4 pmol/l, mean ± sd, n = 23) was significantly higher than that in healthy adult subjects (40.1 ± 10.1 pmol/l, n = 40, P<0.0001). The plasma immunoreactive neuropeptide Y concentrations in patients with ganglioneuroblastoma (590.7 ± 563.6 pmol/l, n = 6) and patients with neuroblastoma (566.9 ± 524.4 pmol/l, n = 15) were significantly higher than those in control children (1–9 years old, 82.2 ± 39.9 pmol/l, n = 72, P<0.0001). 4. The plasma immunoreactive neuropeptide Y concentration in patients with essential hypertension (34.0 ± 3.7 pmol/l, n = 18) was within the normal range, but in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing maintenance haemodialysis (192.1 ± 68.0 pmol/l, n = 25) and in non-dialysed patients with chronic renal failure (85.1 ± 23.1 pmol/l, n = 7) it was significantly higher than that in healthy adult subjects (P<0.0001). 5. Eighty-seven per cent of the patients with phaeochromocytoma, 67% of the patients with ganglioneuroblastoma and 80% of the patients with neuroblastoma showed plasma immunoreactive neuropeptide Y concentrations higher than the upper limits in the control subjects [62 pmol/l (adult) and 160 pmol/l (children)]. 6. These results suggest that neuropeptide Y is a useful plasma marker for these tumours in addition to other factors unless the patients have renal failure.

Abstract Background: Globally, pneumonia is the first infectious disease which is the leading cause of children under age five morbidity and mortality with 98% of deaths in developing countries. Objective: The study aimed to identify the determinant factors that jointly affect the longitudinal measures of pneumonia (respiratory rate, pulse rate and oxygen saturation) and time to convalescence or recovery of under five admitted pneumonia patients at Felege Hiwot Referral Hospital, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. Methods: A prospective cohort study design was used on 101 sampled under five admitted pneumonia patients from December 2019 to February 2020. The study was conducted using joint model of longitudinal outcomes and survival outcomes. Results: The significant values of shared parameters in the survival sub model shows that the use of joint modeling of multivariate longitudinal outcomes with the time to event outcome is the best model compared to separate models. The estimated values of the association parameters for γ_1, γ_2 and γ_3 were -0.297, -0.121 and 0.5452 respectively and indicates that; respiratory rate and pulse rate were negatively related with recovery time, whereas oxygen saturation was positively associated with recovery time. As age of patients increased by one month, the average respiratory rate and pulse rate were significantly decreased by 0.3759 bpm and 1.1012 bpm respectively keeping other variables constant, but age has no information about oxygen saturation. Conclusion: Residence, birth order, severity and visit were found as determinants of the longitudinal measures of pneumonia and time to recovery of under-five admitted pneumonia patients jointly. To improve child survival, the community should be responsible for post ponding child birth and marriage.

Malaria is one of contagious disease which is still a crucial matter in Indonesia. Malaria disease control is being done by decreasing the number of malaria case gradually. South Kalimantan is one of high malaria prevalence province. Malaria cases occur nearly every month with significant raise of malaria occurence on May, October to July. This research intend to know the effect of rainfall, temperature and humidity on to occurence of Malaria case. This is a descriptive research, using secondary data of rainfall, temperature and humidity from Meteorology and Geophysics Board of Banjarbaru and Malaria case of Tanah Bumbu District data within 10 years term. This research shows that rainfall does effect the occurence of Malaria. Temperatur  and humidity does effect the occurence of Malaria. This result showed that rainfall does effect raise of mosquito density. Temperature does effect on mosquito density at 26,5 – 27 degree celcius. Humidity does effect on mosquito density at 85-87 percent. This research concludes that climate variable change does not directly effect raise of case.
