The goal of the article is to empirically establish the problems and determine the prospects of formation and development of personality in the context of social well-being. The empirical study surveyed 120 students and students, 118 adults, and 112 seniors. The age of the respondents ranged from 14 to 70 years old. Psychodiagnosis was carried out through cooperation with educational institutions, social protection institutions and with the help of social networks. Respondents were from: Khmelnitsky, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnitsa, Ternopil, Poltava, Kherson, Odessa regions. Respondents were pupils, students, teachers, medics, trade and service workers, ICT specialists, and pensioners. The main problems of personality formation and development in the context of social well-being are: disregard of altruistic, cognitive, existential life meanings by the younger generation; prevalence of hedonistic beginning over high-spiritual; increased attention to obtaining status and power; consideration of self-realization and status outside the cognitive sphere; low adaptability in society, poorly expressed acceptance of others and self-acceptance, low level of emotional comfort.

This article explores the various dimensions of academic stress factors, coping, and social-cultural adaptation on psychological well-being of 150 Indonesian postgraduate students. The study implemented a correlational research design whereby a conceptual model was produced, which correlated both the dependent and independent variables. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and SmartPLS (Partial Least Squares). The scientific novelty includes the conceptualization of academic stress, coping, social-cultural adaptation, and psychological well-being among Indonesian postgraduate students; thus, results may differ from previous findings, while contributing an in-depth knowledge in this area. The preliminary analysis results indicate that the Cronbach Alpha (CA) and Composite Reliability (CR) of the four first-order reflective dimensions, namely academic stress, coping, social-cultural adaptation and psychological well-being, met the quality standard of reliability (CR) and convergent validity (AVE). Therefore, all constructs are reliable and valid. Consequently, it can be concluded that academic stress, coping, and social-cultural adaptation have a significant influence on the psychological well-being of Indonesian postgraduate-students.

The activity of the modern university library is connected, among other things, with the creation of strong links between different educational and scientific organizations. The goal of such cooperation is to improve the quality and accessibility of Russian higher education, including its digital forms. These problems are solved by a non-profit project of the electronic library system Lan, called Consortium of Network Electronic Libraries (Consortium NEL). It helps universities to optimize costs, increase the number of books and manuals for free. The project already involves 284 universities from Russia and the CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Belarus). Their publications form a book collection of 37 000 textbooks, manuals, workshops and lecture courses on the Lan’s platform. The article describes how the project was created, what is its current state and what are its opportunities. The experience of 284 Russian universities and universities of the CIS countries can be useful for libraries of all educational organizations.

Purpose Resilience development during university can increase the likelihood of positive employment outcomes for project management graduates in what is known as a stressful profession where the prevalence of project failure, job insecurity, and burnout is high. However, a focus on student resilience in project management education is scarce. The purpose of this paper is to address this gap by establishing a baseline profile of resilience for project management students, identifying priority areas of resilience development and exploring the relationship between resilience and well-being. Design/methodology/approach In total, 292 Australian students undertaking project management studies completed a survey comprising of the Resilience at University scale, the Short Warwick–Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale and an item assessing sleep adequacy. Findings A resilience profile for undergraduate, postgraduate, male and female project management students was calculated. The resilience profile identified differences according to gender, and between undergraduate and postgraduate students. Mental well-being and adequate sleep were found to be significantly related to resilience. Practical implications Findings support the call for a greater emphasis on resilience development in the project management curriculum for undergraduates and postgraduates. One priority area likely to facilitate resilience is the ability to maintain perspective. As well as supporting academic achievement, it will assist graduates to navigate through complex, uncertain and challenging project environments. Originality/value This is the first known study of resilience for students undertaking project management studies in higher education.

To date the main indicator used to compare the well-being of children in industrialised countries has been the proportion of children in income poverty. This article exploits data from recent work developing indices of child well-being in EU, OECD and CEE/CIS countries to explore whether child income poverty is a good representation of a wider understanding of child well-being. Using the poverty estimates in each index, as well as more recent estimates for the European Union, we find that for OECD countries income poverty still has some explanatory power but this is not the case for EU and CEE/CIS countries.
